Welcome All! This is my first Pre-Trip Report! :woohoo: :cool1:

Some basic info for you guys:
-We will be going to WDW July 6th
-We will be staying at the Polynesian Resort, which is what i am most excited about!
-We will be staying at WDW for 8 magical days!

Meet our "cast"

Mom :surfweb:- She's nuts about Disney and has made our whole family crazy also! She's been planning our vacation since November.

Dad :thumbsup2 - He'll do whatever really, as long as it makes everyone happy!

Me (Sara) (13) :cheer2: - I'm the one writing this (in case you did not know!) I am the oldest child which I use a lot as a "weapon" i guess you could say! I love to write so I volunteered to do this! I am VERY excited about going to WDW, I have been 6 times before but this time is gonna beat all the others!

DB "Jonathan"(11) :cool2: - My younger brother who thinks he can do anything, which it's always good to think that... He gets on my nerves the most but when we are on vacation (expecially in WDW) we get along pretty well. He likes the BIG rides, which I do too, except he likes Tower of Terror... I dont! I'll explain more about this problem later!

DB "Joel"(10) pirate: - He's the baby of the family! And is WAY more relaxed than anyone else! He doesnt like big rides like Rock 'N' Rollercoaster or Mt. Everest, so he stays behind with my dad on those rides.

:grouphug:

Hi Sarah, Well I'm a really old chick; Ibut I thought it might be interesting to hear your take on things. We will be going in July also. July 13th. so we will just miss you. Bet you're getting excited. It's not that far away.
Hugs, Karen

Thanks! Yes, I am VERY excited! And yea, we'll just miss you! July 13th is the day we're leaving..:confused3 Thanks again!

Stay tuned, because there's more to come!

:yay:

Now to the best part...
Dinner! All of our reservations are for dinner. Considering the fact that three of us are teens/preteens we like our sleep! So it would be pretty hard for us to wake up and go have a big breakfast. Normally, we leave the room at about 11:00-11:30! And lunch is right in the middle of the day, whch we use a QS for because we dont really like wasting 2 hours in the middle of the day.
Enough about that! Lets get on with it :yay:
Here's where we will be eating (we are on the Dining Plan):
'Ohana (Dinner)
Chefs de France (Dinner)
Mama Melrose (Dinner)
Teppan Edo (Dinner)
Crystal Palace (Dinner)
Boma (Dinner)
1900 Park Fare (Dinner)

We LOVE the Dining Plan! :worship: It's a BIG deal!

Here's my feelings towards some of these restaurants:

I am SOOO excited about eating at Boma considering in Social Studies class we just got finished learning about Africa! And have started on Asia :)

I'm not so sure about 1900 Park Fare because I'm not little anymore and my siblings are boys and I'm not sure how we will react to the Cinderella themeing. But, we're going to make my mother happy!

The other place that I cant get my mind off of is 'Ohana. Since we are staying at the Polynesian, it makes the experience 10x better!!!

Lastly, I'll talk about Teppan Edo. I adore Japanese/Chinese food (mainly Japanese). So going to a Japenese Steakhouse in DISNEY is 20billion times better than just going to a Japanese Steak House!

Thanks~ and dont worry Pictures are on their way! I just have to finish downloading some of them!

So stay tuned!!!! :banana::dance3::banana:

We are doing the dining plan also. We too are not big breakfast eaters. We are more of an early lunch, early dinner, late snack kind of group. The dining plan!!!:dance3::dance3: Awesome! But this is my kids first trip to Disney so we are doing a lot od character meals. My son who is 11 is probably not too excited about any of them; but my 9 year old is. Just remember, regarding the Cinderella dinner, sometimes moms still long to be her - especially since at this stage in our lives, that is the farthest thing from reality. I really wanted to eat at Boma too. I have heard some excellent things about it. I am an adventerous eater anyway, and I thought they had some interesting choices. I couldn't get anyone else in my family interested in eating there.
So I hope you have a really fun experience there.:cool2:
We are also going to do the aloha dinner show at the Polynesian which I am real excited about.:cool1:
I am envious of you staying at the Polynesian. I would love to stay either there or at AKL. This is kind of a budget minded trip for us; so this time it's the POP.
Oh well, maybe next trip.

I'm enjoying your pre trip report. My daughter, Sarah Anne, loves to write too. She's 9 and might start a PTR too once we get our plans finalized. I'll be sure to tell her to check yours out so she can see what other kids are writing about.

I'll be writing about the Poly today, so check that out later!
:goodvibes

Ok, so now it's time for the Poly!

When we last went to Disney we decided to check out the Poly and were amazed by the beauty of the Great Ceremonial House! We also looked at the volcano pool and the beach! (which we LOVED)

Here's me doing a cartwheel on the beach of the Poly (you can see the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa in the background):

Where were those birds at at downtown disney? I'm sure my kids would love to see those. Is Earl of Sandwich a counter service meal or a table service meal?
Last night I was looking at the POly pics thread and so wishing I was staying there this trip. Waaah!:sad2:

'till next time!

There's those crazy long legs again

What is your favorite park?:confused3

My favorite park is Epcot because I love the countries, you can go all around the world and never leave Disney grounds!

My 2nd favorite is Magic Kingdom because it has the most enjoyable rides and its the main attraction, I guess you could say...

My 3rd favorite is Animal Kingdom because I LOVE Expedition Everest! Plus, I think its cool that it includes Africa and Asia in there!

Lastly, is Hollywood Studios because I like Rock 'N' Rollercaoster!

I took a poll at dinner and this is what my family said:

Dad: Magic Kingdom because its the "original"
Mom: Epcot because of the countries!
Me: Epcot (stated above)
Jonathan: Magic Kingdom because there is a lot to do and likes SM
Joel:
Hollywood Studios because he likes Indina Jones and the "adventure"

Feel free to ask any more questions!

Okay, so in my life I have been to WDW 6 times. 3 times when I was pretty young and we only went for a day. Our first "Real" Disney vacation was in 2006 when we were still off-site but we were staying for a week! We were renting a house close to WDW and staying with one of my dad's close friends and his family.

Heres how that went:

We woke up at 7-8 in the morning and ate a quick breakfast before we were off to Disney. Where we went went on some rides and in the afternoon got a snack. And we would have dinner at a QS place. And no, we were not on the Dining Plan, unfortunatly. So it went:
Wake up, eat breakfast, drive to Disney, ride rides, possibly have a snack (ice cream...), ride more rides, eat dinner (QS), ride rides, then go back to the house when the park closed.

But that was nothing untill we decided to stay on-site and where else than Contemporary Resort! And we had the dining plan!

Now heres how that went (which is 10x better!):
Wake up at around 9ish (we didnt even try to get EMH in the morning), eat breakfast in the room, and head out to the park, ride the rides, and eat a QS lunch! YAY, we would go back to the hotel and take a nap or go to the pool, then head out to wherever our ADR's were, then go and ride more rides, and we would stay at the park with EMH, and head back to the Hotel!

Our last Disney trip was a short-notice one. We were staying at the AllStar Movies. I think we got the Mighty Ducks... It was for four days and three nights.

Heres how that went:
We woke up the first day and decided to go to Downtown Disney, hung out there, and then went to The Earl of Sandwhich for lunch, we headed back to the hotel and ate dinner at the place in the Hotel's main lobby.
The second day we woke up, ate breakfast and went to MK rode the rides, ate a quick lunch, rode more rides, had a quick dinner, and RODE THE RIDES!

But none of those trips will EVER be half as awesome as the one coming up just around the corner... :scared1: :scared1:

THE POLYNESIAN RESORT :yay: :woohoo: :yay:

The good:
- on the monerail line
- AMAZING theme!
- ROOMS are FANTASTIC!
- LOVE the volcano pool!
- LOVE the beach!
- Has a volleyball net! (I'll be there!)
- Did I mention I LOVE the theme???

The bad:
NOTHING!

Although it seems the parks aren't open as late as last year (we are a late night family, not an early morning one!). We'd like to stay out late like we did last year, but like I said it seems like the park hours are reduced from last year. Anybody have a say in that???

Thanks for reading and please leave comments!
