SERIOUSLY - has our family the 'Magic" to ourselves on 6th August 2011 Med cruise???

Hey there

Oh course you can sign up!! Its all very informal! So far I have just made a note of the names of Dis-sers who have asked to be included and noted who was in their stateroom - M/F, boy/girl etc. Haven't exchanged staterooms yet. Although some of us have them there is always the chance the numbers may change closer to the sail date.

I bought my FE from Gradysmommy on ebay. I guess it was expensive enough but totally worth it - her work is first class and her attention to detail perfect - I got all the colours and styles I asked for. I think I have seen threads showing how to make one, even a no sew version. If you do a search for fish extender you may come up with other ideas. So, who all is travelling with you and ages (or even just adult or child)? As for how it works, last year I did individual gifts for each of the children in the exchange and my gifts for the grown ups varies. What I mean is I brought some things from NI which perhaps suited the dad best and made things that suited the mom best. Some gifts were shared - irish chocolates etc. Hope that makes sense!

Any other specific questions just ask.

Thanks for your interest and joining up,

Jude

Thank you! I think I will order a fish extender off eBay - the designs are really cute! :) It is me (21 at time of cruise), brother (19) and Mum. :)

Thank you for the magnet links Randi - I am definitely planning on using some for our door. :)

I've added you and your mum and brother to the FE exchange group. I love my FE. It has hung in the kitchen since we came home and I use it for the girls notes home from school etc! I love it - brings back great memories and makes me look forward to this years cruise every single day!!

With the arrival of Easter I'm getting more and more excited as our cruise gets closer! I hope you all are too. The girls are all off school and are talking about what we have planned for now, and for the summer. They have no idea we are cruising this year, I told them we would do the Magic again next year - its as well they haven't realised the Magic isn't in the Med next year or they'd be asking questions!!!!

Some more of my FE gifts arrived in the post this week so I feel I am a bit better organised in that respect. We were at the North Coast yesterday - let me tell you it was really chilly even though the sun was shining! I will be hoping for a lot more heat in the sun in the Med!!

Enjoy your holidays everyone and hope to hear from you all soon - we need to get to page 7!

Bye for now

Jude

Happy Easter everyone! The weather is lovely here at the moment - it is so nice just to be able to sit in the garden and enjoy the sun! Can't wait for the summer now!

Jude - I am sure your daughters will be so excited when they find out about the cruise!! Do you know how you are planning to tell them about it? :)

Hope the Easter Bunny was good to everyone!

I was just checking out "My Cruise Plans" on the Disney site and noticed that there is only 102 days left before we set sail!

Which means that Platinum & Gold CC Members are already able to go and choose excursions, Palo nights, etc.

Anyone out there a Platinum or Gold Member? Did you get everything you wanted? Palo? Excursions?

Also, a quick question. When you went on to sign up for excursions...did they list any times (departure and return times) for the excursions. I am very curious because there are some excursions we were thinking about but it depended on the time...i.e. morning or afternoon. And I wasn't sure when Disney was going to tell us what these times were. If figured it must be when they open up your individual "Reserve Activites".

I love reading about everyones plans....keep posting!

We haven't cruised before so have to wait until the end of May to book our excursions! I would love to know about the excursion times too - particularly the half day Monte Carlo/Monaco one. :) Also would love to know nearer the time how Palo is filling up. Does anyone know if brunch and high tea only served on the sea day? :)

We're all booked for our Palo, Spa and Excursions - hooray. Here's some answers to questions asked below:

excursion times - yes, for the one excursion I booked with Disney (caves in Palma, Spain) I was told the time (8:30am to 1pm)

Palo - brunch and high tea are only on sea days - we booked brunch and also booked our Palo dinner for formal night with availability ok for our requested times

spa - I booked a couple of spa appointments with no issue on availability

I hope the availability continues for you all who have not yet been able to.

Happy spring to all!

That's great Randi, I'm glad you got everything that you wanted! Patiently waiting my timeslot to open and crossing my fingers that I am as lucky as you....

I'm off to the passport office this morning to get two passports renewed. And we will be ready to go....

Patiently waiting for our time to book too, a week on Sunday.

We're planning on booking a few excursions and Palo brunch because it looks amazing.

Hey - I honestly don't know when I am going to tell them! Last year I waited until 3 weeks before we sailed! As it goes at the minute they think we are cruising next year so I will have to think of a great way to tell them - just not sure yet! Last year a friend from Canada sent them a Disney Cruise Line postcard and they it arrived it said that Mickey and Minnie were looking forward to seeing them - the photos I took of their delight were priceless - their reaction was amazing. Not sure how I will top that this year!!!!

Hey everyone

The kids go back to school tomorrow after the Easter break. When they finish school on 30th June thats them off until 1st September. Unfortunately I work so I don't get the 9 weeks summer holidays they get but i am soooooo looking forward to our second cruise. Then the girls were going to bed tonight they were feeling all sad *** the Easter break was over and we'd had a few trips to the beach and now school seems boring! I was encouraging them to go to bed and dream of the Magic last summer. They were telling me all their favourite bits - for one it was the Oceaneer Lab, for another the Mickey/Goofy pool and for the third the shows. If you asked me my favourite bit I just don't know - its ALL AMAZING! I am soooo going to miss the Magic being in Europe next year as if we cruise if will have to be with another cruise line - I don't want to do Florida until the girls are a bit older.

Anyway, off to have some sweet dreams of the Cruise myself! I have used my Tesco tokens on Double Exchange and bought a new camera for the holiday - i am to collect it in store tomo - can't wait to play with it!!

Keep on posting fellow cruisers and if you haven't said HI yet be sure to do so!

Nite

Jude

Hey folks

Is everyone ok? Its been a few days since I was online and posted and yet I see no one has posted since - hope everyone is well and enjoying planning for either Magic cruise.

I have spent the last hour reading my way through some threads on Med port adventures and also going them on your own without paying Disney - Thinking we will do both - like last year - just not totally decided yet.

As for FE gifts, there are some fabulous ideas to be had from out posters who very kindly share their ideas. I am LOVING reading about them and seeing some of the photos - makes me wonder how I will ever create anything as memorable.

I paid my cruise on Tuesday past - at least I paid it to the travel agent I booked with but if last year is anything to go by they seem to like to keep my money in their account and benefit from the interest on it for a couple of days before they send it to Disney. My holiday is due to be paid by the 14th May I think so really I was well organised - looking forward from confirmation from DCL that they have received it. Saving now for spending money, excursions and tips.

13 weeks yesterday!!!

Happy planning.......................

Hi everyone!

I am getting so excited for the cruise! We can book our excursions in a couple of weeks, so I am looking forward to that! :) I have been reading some of the threads too, especially the recent one on Cinque Terre, which we are planning on visiting from La Spezia. It is really helpful to read others experiences! We are just doing the one Disney excursion and then everything else by ourselves. :) Jude - I know what you mean about the fish extender gifts! There are some very talented and creative disers! :)

Hi everyone :)

We booked our Disney excursions yesterday. We also booked Palo brunch but I have a question. There are 3 of us and we were only able to book a table of 1 and a table of 2. There were tables for 4 available.
Does that mean we will be sat seperately?

Is it really less than 13 weeks?? Wow!!

We booked our shore excursions too!! Might change out of the Palma one, but the rest are set. We're doing Villefranche on our own, but booked Portofino (La Spezia), Taste of Rome, and Herculaneum (Naples).

What are people doing after the cruise? We were going to try to fly out immediately as we've done in Florida, but worried the timing might be too tight for international. Only flights to SF are around 1pm...

Starting to think about what to pack :cool1:

We are flying out after the cruise also - around 1pm to Miami so it looks like we'll all be at the airport together. We booked the Disney transfer to the airport from the port.

Next week is the last week of school: Kindergarten graduation! Summertime coming means trip is almost here!

Randi

We are planning to do a shore excursion in Naples - probably visitin Pompeii and Sorrento. I am looking at booking with Rome In Limo. There are 4 in our party. If anyone is interested in booking with us, please let me know.

Hi everyone! Sorry I haven't been able to post in a few days - I have been very busy at uni. We had our first show of our tour (I go to a dance college and we tour in our final year). But now we have a week off! I am really excited to book our excursions and hopefully a meal at Palo on Monday. :) We haven't booked our flights yet - the return flight is not as cheap as I think it could get, so we are just going to hope Ryanair have a sale soon! :) We are planning on staying 3 nights before and 2 nights after the cruise. :) Hope everyone is doing okay!:goodvibes
