Serenity Bay Beach changes

That's a pretty poor assumption. In the 12 times I've gone to SB I've never seen obvious teens out there.
In the 8 times I have been to Serenity Bay, many times I have witnessed first hand CMs approaching teens/parents on SB and at the BBQ asking to see KTTW cards to prove they belonged in the area, three times I have seen the CMs tell the parents/teen that they needed to leave and go the family beach area because the teen was not yet 18 and therefore not eligible to be at SB. Of course, each time the parent argued what was their kid hurting!!! Your teen may not have been hurting anything...but rules are rules.

DINKS????? REALLY? I guess am one of your so called DINKS as we cruise in a concierge suite, get a cabana, eat at Palo and get the occasional spa service every time we cruise because we can afford it and work hard for our money. Does that make me a dink? That is such an ignorant comment I don't even know where to begin.

Woah! calm down!

DINK = Dual Income No Kids

Again I apologize when I call someone a dink or someone calls me a dink it is a derogatory remark that does not mean Dual Income No Kids. It means something quite, quite different. I read that and it was a knee jerk reaction as I took the meaning to be derogatory. Again I apologize carry on with your lively discussion.

I'm guessing it's likely that most of those on this thread not bothered by the change are people with kids/teens. As adults without children, my husband and I are not happy about this. It isn't just the idea of teens in the very near distance of what is supposed to be pure serenity for adults. The likelihood of sharing the tram to "Serenity," sharing the restrooms and the BBQ area degrades an otherwise magical escape. The "family" areas on the ship and the island are huge. This probable infringement into the one adult area of the island is yet another way to say to child-free adults, "We don't want you or your money." However, if there are enough complaints, DCL could decide to build many more adult cabanas and market them as the place to find the serenity that used to be free at Serenity Beach, and probably at increased cabana fees. Peace and quiet could end up having its own price tag. Not to worry too much though until we see exactly how this plays out.
I have a tween and 2 teens and I think this is another ridiculous decision by DCL. Enough already!!

Where did I say that you said that he sky was falling? What you said was "If the teens can also use the dining area..." Where did that notion come from? Where in the OP's post was that suggested as a possibility?

Your original response to my post included "But I suppose that people want to believe that the Bahamian sky is falling, and that teen-generated food fights are about to descend on Serenity BBQ.". As this was a direct response it appeared to me that you thought I believed the sky was falling.

Obviously, not being Karl Holz, I do not know what the plans will be. The original poster only mentioned the beach itself. I suppose it's possible that the teens on the Serenity beach side of the island could be asked to eat and use the restroom back on the other side of the island. But, I would venture to guess that any additional development of guest areas on the Serenity side would require building new facilities or expanding the current ones.

But we all know how that works when DCL "asks" cruisers to comply...
There will be those that do and those that think they are above the "request".
Then the POOR CMS get put in the middle having to be the "bad guys" trying to enforce the rules for those that think the are above them. Sorry, that little Jimmy and Susie want to eat at the SB BBQ with mom and dad. They aren't 18 and they do NOT belong there until they are. Be a parent and teach them how to follow rules not break/skirt them!

Exactly!

The venom being spewed by the Serenity Bay Gang is incredible! Who knew that the crew who cherishes their "peaceful" area were anything but ...

Can you imagine now you tell them they cant bring a truckload of booze AND that there may be a teenager on the same tram, walking on the same path or *GASP* EATING in the same location as them????
LMAO, perfectly saud..lol

Why call anyone a name for not being happy about a "possible" change.

It does seem like it will be difficult to keep the Serenity buffet 18+ if they have a teen/tween beach right there. Unless they build yet another food service facility for the teens/tweens, it would be very inconvenient for them to have a private beach with no food available, and have to go all the way back to the two regular BBQ's to eat. I suppose they could build a "back side" to the current Serenity buffet kitchen with a separate serving and seating area for tweens/teens, but somehow I think that would cost more than they want to spend.

The buffet is on what will be the tween/teen side. Until I read this thread I couldn't figure out the rope cutting/separating Serenity Bay....just off the Dream on 9/18/25

I do feel it's a little too close to Serenity bay, but it is not like there is unlimited space on the island. As long as they manage it right I guess it should be fine? We shall see. It would be nice for the 15-17 year old range adolescents to have a place to hang instead of being stuck with the kiddos at the family beach.

Personally, I like the idea. My husband and I can enjoy SB knowing my tween is close by and supervised.

If I was an adult that didn't have kids and I didn't want to be around kids, I would choose another cruise line. I think it's silly to go on a Disney cruise and try to get as far away from kids/teens/tweens as you can. There are plenty of other very nice cruise lines out there that would be glad to take your money that don't cater to kids/families. So either deal with it or switch, but stop complaining.

But Disney is the one advertising and selling an adults exclusive area not me. Sure I could go to another cruise line but kids are everywhere. I would rather cruise with adults only areas for peace and quiet than not cruise at all.
