Hi all, were back. Well, the Seralago was okay as far as a place to come back to and get rest, watch tv, sleep for the night, etc. I felt highly ripped off for the $118 we paid (before tax) for the kids suite. Luckily my 6 year old son loved the kid suite part but 6 year olds aren't hard to please - there were bunkbeds and a tv with Nickelodeon and Disney Channel, what else did he need.
I'm not sure how they get away with calling this place a hotel it's definitely a motel (two story with outside entrance) on the bright side of that, we were able to park our car right outside our room each night.
The pool was just your everyday rectangular pool. There was a hottub under a gazebo that was actually working- bubbly and hot. There was a pool bar but we didn't check that out.
We didn't eat at the full service restaurant but did get lunch the first day at the counter service area (People's Choice Food Court) of burgers and hot dogs w/fries. Again it was okay. They had a large selection of pastries, chips, ice cream, etc. there, so you're good for your junk food fix.
They lobby was colorful, again nothing special though and had an arcade in it, when I went in with my son on the first day there and tried to convert my quarters to tokens, the machine wasn't working and they were putting up a few out of order signs on some of the games.
We put in a wake call for 7:00 the first full morning we were there and when I woke up and saw 8:00 something on the clock, my husband called to let them know they dropped the ball. (He was polite though).
The pool is inside the courtyard of the motel and if you actually looked past the mundane outside look of the pool and motel itself, the grounds (small as they were) were actually manicured neatly and kind of pretty.
I'll briefly sum up my feelings for the Seralago here (and take this as you will because I'm spoiled and usually stay on Disney property if I can help it). As I was sitting in the lounge chair looking around at the pool and hotel/motel itself, I started kicking myself more and more for reserving this place without having seen it in person. It was clean enough that I could see (though I made sure not to overly scrutinize) and had the basic necessities, but that was pretty much it. There was absolutely no magical Disney feeling to it whatsoever, but being it wasn't on Disney property, that's understandable.
So basically, I've come to the conclusion that I would rather go once a year and be able to afford to stay on Disney property then go on the cheap twice a year (which this trip still really wasn't at $118+/night).
Oh and one more note...do not eat at The Las Vegas Buffet right down the road, this place was beyond mediocre and the ad in the motel's info notebook was slightly more than misleading with what selections they offered. If anyone is interested I'll be happy to go into more detail.
Thanks and hopefully I didn't babble too much
