Sequoia Lodge or Newport Bay?

We were originally going to book our trip for June to make most of our Annual Passes which run out in July, however we wouldn't have much spending money so we have decided to save for an extra few months and go in September and treat ourselves to staying in a Disney Hotel instead of the off site hotels.

Looking at the current offers both the Sequoia Lodge and Newport Bay seem to be in our price range (unless a flash sale happens, in that case we would probably go for the Hotel New York), however we have no idea which one to go for!! in your opinion which hotel is better? we are used to staying in the Dream Caslte and Kyriad which are both nice hotels, however as we would have to buy park tickets, its working out not much more expensive to stay in either of these hotels.

Also how do both of these hotels compare to the offsite hotels (we have never stayed in the Disney Hotels) and if a flash sale happens, would it be worth upgrading to the Hotel New York or stick with one of these two and take the saving as extra spending money?

Thanks in advance.

If they're the same price I'd pick SL straight away.

It's all recently refurbished and doesn't suffer from the overcrowding that NPB does. :)

Ditto! :rotfl:

I'd also still choose the SL over HNY, but I think I'm in the minority there! There would be some advantages of staying at the HNY but I'd prefer to stay at SL and have more to spend on goodies in the parks! :thumbsup2

I dunno....I'd maybe pick SL over HNY too....

But for our trip next month SL was almost £200 more than HNY! :scared1:

Well at the moment the SL is actually coming up at around £150 cheaper! so looks like we shall be going for that one :cool1:

Now the question is, will there be any other decent offers after this one as we wouldn't really be able to pay for it till around July/August time!

I should clarify thats £100.00 cheaper than the NPB and around £600 cheaper than the HNY!
Prices are:

SL - £823
NPB - £921
HNY - £1398

Thats for 5 nights in September 2012.

There will possibly be a sale after this offer finishes, so maybe wait until beginning of May if you are willing to take the risk!

you can call Disney and pay a 10% deposit now, that guarantees the price you pay will not increase. Then the balance would be due 60 days before your check-in date.

We have stayed in both and I found the Sequoia lodge much nicer. It just feels a bit more homely than the NPB:goodvibes

I would also chose Sequoia Lodge. Stayed once in NPBC, but it was terrible (the quality in Santa Fé was even much beter dan in NPBC). SQL had a good atmosfeer, good food, it's quiet in the evening, it feels like home, it's shorter to walk to the Parks.

Next month I'm staying 7 days in SQL, and planning another trip in November as well.

Another strong vote here for the Sequoia Lodge! We loved it last June, we were really impressed with the refurb. Can't wait to return this year. No brainer :thumbsup2

I've stayed at both and SL wins by a mile (or kilometer). I want to try HNY myself but that is a big jump in price. I'd go for SL, just about everything I experienced there was better than NBH.
