Ok, considering we will only upgrade to DLH if i get the cash :rotfl2: If its impossible i may upgrade instead to SL or NPB...

Does anyone have any pics as to what to two look like at Christmas?
I want to stay where its more Christmassy if you know what i mean. :lmao:

Thanks in advance.

Well, Sequoia Lodge is a hotel that is made for the winter season - with the huge log fire. But I fondly remember the two huge Christmas trees as you go down the twin staircase to walk to the park from the Newport Bay - I loved that for some reason! I would suggest that SL is more christmassy, but you know that you will be happy at the Newport Bay which will also look lovely. :)

Argh, decisions, decisions. I keep changing my mind.

This really is not good for my health lol.

Okay, if it helps at all, I think that Sequoia Lodge has a much more "user friendly" lounge and bar area. There are loads of places to sit, whether you want to enjoy a drink or not - which may come in useful if the weather is just to awful to stay in the parks, but you don't want to live in your room. I think that the Newport Bay lobby is lovely, but not so well designed in IMHO - the reception area seems to take up most of it, with a smaller lounge area. Of course, you can always visit the SL lounge, even if your staying at the Newport Bay, but it wouldn't be quite so convenient to your room!

Yes when i last stayed in the NPB, thought i didnt get a chance to look around the lobby seems very open. Can you have breakfast delievered to your room like you can in the NPB?

Sorry, no. But you can only have to delivered to your room at the NPB if you stay on the Admiral's Floor - plus that would cost you at least 10 euros, if that makes you feel any better!!

Here is a virtual visit of the NPB lobby (I can't find a picture of the Fisherman's Wharf Bar which is just off it) and here is one for SL. But it only shows about half of the Redwood Bar!!

Oh, guess i cant be lazy then.:lmao:
Thanks for the links..I am swaying todays the SL and staying in a Montana Room.

For me, it's always been SL. We stayed in NPB in Dec and I just didn't find it very Christmassy not sure why... I like the little play area in SL more than NPB and all the wood etc makes it a bit warmer and Xmassy iykwim.

There was a big Xmas tree in the lobby of NPB, lovely decorated and nice decorations all over but still didn't catch me. Jeremy was the same, preferred SL but decided to stay in NPB just to see the difference.

The food and everything else is the same. The bar in NPB is nice, nice coctails etc. I didn't like the restaurants they do lots of fish and neither of us eats fish...

Going back to SL for the third time - we love the hotel!!!!!

We were at the Sequoia Christmas 2006 and loved it (2 adults, 1 child). The Sequoia is surrounded by tall pine trees and has a huge log fire. We liked it there so much that we booked again and went last July. I think for Christmas ambience the Sequoia is your best bet! Loads of characters wandering around and a lovely little play area with a stage next to it where you can get your character photos.

Ok...

I'm swaying towards the SL, anyone here got a vote for the NPB? lol

My vote would be SL too I'm afraid! It's so lovely and wintery!

My vote would be for the SL too! It is a great hotel in the winter with the log fire. I have always felt that the NPB is more of a summer hotel.

Hi Emma

Looks like you are working your way round all the DLRP hotels - yo've stayed at Newport Bay so why not give Sequoia Lodge a try. If it's any help, in Simon Veness's "Brit's Guide to Disneyland Paris" he says that Sequoia Lodge is the perfect hotel for a Christmas/Winter visit. Must be lovely to get all toasty by that log fire!!!

Another vote for SL, although you have made me think now, we were going to go for the cheyanne this time (we did xmas in SL last year) and know i am thinking of the open fire whilst drinking a hot choccie after the park...
