I had read about a pirate bar near Disneyland a few years back but I can't find it now. I did Google and see that there is a place called Strong Water in Anaheim that appears to be a pirate bar. I'd love to hear any reviews or alternate suggestions if you have any! My sis and I are just looking for something interesting we haven't done before (and it doesn't have to be a pirate bar, that just sounded fun). Thanks!

We went once, and it was just okay. We had a reservation but at the time still ended up being sat outside (now it specifies you are INSIDE if you have a reservation). Only time we were able to go inside was to use the restroom so it was just a quick peek; I would have probably enjoyed it more if we could actually enjoy the ambiance! Our drinks were good, food wasn't, both were expensive. I honestly prefer Trader Sam's and our local place in Portland - Hale Pele.

Thank you! It looked cool in pictures but they were 5 years old. Sounds like it wouldn't be worth it if you couldn't be inside.

I haven’t been to Strong Water, but it’s highly rated. Even the biggest Disney fans on Reddit rate it above Trader Sam’s and it’s won a plethora of awards.

If you haven’t been, The Cellar in Fullerton is worth visiting. The menu is pricy, but they have a decent happy hour. The restaurant was designed by the same folks who brought us Pirates of the Caribbean at Disneyland.

Thank you!! That sounds like fun! I'll check it out.

Went a couple of years ago, looks real cool inside but not very big, you must have a reservation. Close to city hall as I recall.

My husband and I went to Strongwater in March and had a great time. Depending on when you go the reservations can go fast and when you make your reservation you basically pick your table or place at the bar. The food that we had was good and the bartenders are amazing. We had some questions about some of the drinks and they came to our table and spent some time talking to us. My husband was really interested in one drink and it had tea in it and he hates tea, the bartender talked him into it and even told him that if he hated it we wouldn't be charged for it. My husband gave it a go and absolutely loved it. The food that we had was pretty good too. Some of the drinks have been designed by some people with Disney connections. I had the drink called the miehana (Anaheim backwards) and it turns out the drink was developed by Kevin & Jody (designed some things for Disney like the Soundsational floats).

We also tried a tiki bar in Tustin called the Stowaway and it was fun but we liked Strongwater better. I want to say there is a bit of a Disney connection with the artist Shag being involved in some of the decor of the bar but I could be wrong.

Another fun place, but not tropical themed is the Blind Rabbit speakeasy at the Anaheim Packing House. Reservations can go quick here too and again we had a great time and the bartenders are fabulous.

My husband and I went in March and really enjoyed it. We sat in the Captain's Quarters. We have reservations to go again this month!

Thank you! How hard is it to get a reservation for 2? We'll be at DLR Nov 15-19 (Dapper Day) and are hoping for the Captain's Quarters.
