Hi. Looking for advice, please? We are considering a September Western Dis cruise. How is the weather then???

I've never cruised in September, but I do know that's peak hurricane season here in FL.

I cruised last September and rebooked for this year again. I thouht the weather was perfect - mid 80's. I did the Eastern and loved it. Hurricaes may change your itenerary because they will not take the ship into the storm but unless you have your heart set on certain ports it is all part of the adventure.

The kids are back in school then so there are not as many as during the summer, holidays and spring break.

We were planning on a September cruise (good rates) but then was reminded of hurricane season. We were looking at a 4 day and didn't not want to chance missing dockint at CC. DH also gets seasick very easily and we didn't want to chance any extra waves. We either go before or after hurricane season.

We cruised last september..western...weather was perfect. Seas were calm. There were hurricanes, but none near us...we had no problem. It is a chance you take, cruising in hurricane season...we didn't give it a second thought!

We've always cruised in September, our anniversary is the 12th, and other than our Mexican Riviera out of LA, we've never had any problems. And this is from the couple that took their honeymoon in Hawaii, the weekend Iniki hit Kaui.

We've cruised in June, and we've cruised in September.....totally enjoyed the September more! Less crowded, weather was still great. And we were dodging Hurricane Isabel (this last fall). We went to Castaway Cay the first stop, instead of the second (four day Wonder).....and ended up having a fantastic time, and no problems with the weather at all.
It is very rare, if not totally unheard of, for the ship to cancel completely, due to weather.

All 3 of our DCL's were in Sept. The prices are better b/c the kids are back in school, and the weather is great. Only once did a CM remark on the ship's course. She asked if we noticed the ship moving diagonally from left to right. The Captain was dodging the rough seas, and finding the sun. We hadn't noticed anything but great weather.

Since DS starts kindergarten this year, there goes our less expensive vacation!

We just booked the 9/4 Eastern cruise & are really looking forward to it. This will be our 1st.

Couldn't let the deal we got so here we go hurricane or not!

No, they wont cancel the cruise. They will just redirect it out of the way of the hurricane. We went on our 1st cruise during Hurricane Floyd a few years ago. It was coming directly for Port Canaveral & it was the 1st time every WDW had closed. We left 1 hr early and had to go all night without the stablizers on because they can go faster that way. We were supposed to go to the Bahamas, but since that is where the hurricane was going we went to Cozumel. The 1st night was rocky but after that it was great. We didnt get to go to Castaway Cay though, since that is when it got hit. I say go and dont worry about the hurricane. They can be tracked in advance for the most part & Disney will not put you or its crew/ship in danger.

In sept there are lest kids on board, prices are better, we have not made castaway cay in our previous 2 Dis cruises the first one the island was hit by a hurricane a couple of days before we left so there was nothing to go to the second time the winds were strong and the boat couls not get in.

They will not cancel the cruise they will route the boat around any hurricanes for your safety
