September?

We've never been to Sea World in September and I noticed the hours are until 7pm. Are there any night time shows? Like Shamu Rocks and Mistify and anything else I'm missing.

We were at SW in June 2007 and had planned to see the night time shows but a MAJOR thunderstorm showed up and we left the park (lightning was scary!) So we're hoping we'll get to see the shows during our September trip!

Nope, according to the calendar they sent out, their "SeaWorld After Dark" shows only run through Sept 1st.

Sometimes they'll throw an extra couple of them in during holiday weekends and the like, but generally unless they're open till 9pm or later, they don't do the night shows.

Oh yeah... and just for future visits... thunderstorms in Florida typically only last 30min to an hour & a half... find an indoor show or exhibit and wait it out. Our weather comes and goes fast & furious.

i would expect that probably a weekend would stay open alittle bit later, but i think shamu rocks runs until late aug.. i dont remember because tey changed it up. But its worth going no matter what, you can check their calender as the months come closer to september..

Nope, double checked my flier and the website. AfterDark only runs May 24 - Sept 1.

There's always the possibility they could extend, but I wouldn't count on the night shows running.

Thank you all for your responses. I was afraid that there wouldn't be any night time shows while were were going to be there. Oh well - guess we'll just have to wait to see those next year!

The day we were there and the thunderstorm broke out - we had been sitting in the bleachers waiting for one of the shows to start and an announcement came on saying the show was cancelled and to seek shelter. Lots of folks said that "it would just blow over in a little bit" and thought we were crazy for leaving. We thought they were crazy for sitting on metal bleachers while lightning was flashing! We had stuck around for a little bit, but it just got worse and ended up lasting a couple of hours.
