Hello! I am in the prelim stages of planning a September trip to Universal. For work reasons, arriving on a Saturday works best for me, so I am trying to decide what weekend.

If we ended up missing HHN, we would be bummed but ok (we have Busch Gardens Williamsburg near-by which really does an excellent Halloween Party). So I was first looking at September 10th. But...now I am worried that will be the "Rock the Universe" night. Anyone have an insider knowledge about what weekend it will be?

I also was looking at September 17th...but Royal Pacific is already out of Garden Level rooms!!

My final choice is September 24th.

Can anyone remind me what days of the week the HHN is usually offered in September?

I am so excited for Halloween already!:cool1:

Opening weekend is usually fri/sat nights for Hhn

Hhn last year was held wed, thur, fri, sat, sun

Believe the Wednesday is added in October

Nothing official has been released yet for this years dates if it will follow the same as the past year

My guess would be the 23 opening to make it a 6week event

If you want a garden view on the 17, keep checking back for availability as peeps cancel and rooms open up

I figured you would be the one to respond! Thanks so much! I see on the official page it says it starts 9/16, but with "dates subject to change" so I think the 23rd may be likely!

Well it could be that 16/17 fri/sat for opening weekend
With my move last month to a new place, I'm behind on some things for UO

Hhn grows each year
To start opening weekend then, makes sense money wise
Would not be surprised if IOA would have a small part of Hhn
A few sections were used there for a few years before

Oh my gosh. That would be so cool to have IoA a part of it too. I think I will go the 9/24 weekend, and will go that Sunday (with a HHN express pass to get it all done in one night!). I hope your move went well and you are settling in! I will forgive you for not knowing ever detail about an event that is over 7 months away. :)

Went and signed up at the site for Hhn info and see they are starting sept 16

I did opening nights a few years (2000-02) then switched to later weeks
The first couple of weeks have very manageable crowds

This is the weekend we are planning to go as well! It's hard to make all these plans so far out. I want to know so much more about HHN this year. We're planning to stay at RPR too so I better get on it.

Elena.....we've been last few years first 3 weeks and yes, it's still busy, but not as mad as further into October. As mac says its manageable. It seems to get more popular every year that passes.

Going on the Sunday is a good choice, specially with HHN EP........we wouldn't do horror nights without that.......and we go about 8 nights over our trip!

The queues do get horrendous, even on so called quiet Sunday's.........we were surprised last year just how busy quiet nights were........we only ever do 5 hours max each night we go as we are there a long time.....but for one night your best decision is the EP.........

Nearer the time all the threads will start up.......will speak nice to mac and I sure she'll be setting up a specific thread do us all to chat about it.........:D

Yay!! I can't wait for an official 2016 HHN thread. I have read some rumors on random pages that there really is a chance that the HHN party will spill over to IoA, especially with places closed off in US (like the Fast and Furious area). Could be an amazing....and terrifying....Muahhhhh....Year!

We just booked the 17-23rd at RPR and we are thinking about hiring an in room babysitter and going for the first time.

Like schumi said I always do a when are you attending Hhn thread
Last year a newbie started one very early and I did not think it would be cool if I did my annual thread

But will start it once Hhn tickets go on sale
If you want to stay at rpr, suggest you book early as they sell out due to Hhn event

Book and then watch for discounts and modify your rate later

Do HHN affect crowd levels during the day? We're thinking about an October trip, but really aren't interested in HHN.

On the weekend crowds start in the afternoon
Many come then as they want to do rides before the parks close at 5 and then wait for Hhn to open

You should not have crowd issues on wed, thur, fri during the daytime in the parks
Parks close at 5 for the studios as Hhn held there

Unknown if any part of ioa will be used this year for Hhn

Yeah........Mac's thread is always one we usually look out for year after year...........it means HHN is getting closer..........rumours and dates.........something to look forward to Elena :thumbsup2

I can't remember if you've gone before or we have another victim :P.......I mean first timer........:rotfl:

I went for the first time last year. I had never been to that type of Halloween event, and really only went because we had a "free" ticket with our annual pass. We loved it!!! I never thought I would enjoy people jumping out at me with chainsaws. Who knew?!?

I remember now you went last year and it was your first time. Glad you enjoyed it enough to come back.

First time we went in 2007 we had never even heard of it.........loved it instantly and have been as often as possible.....yep, it's a whole load of fun!

I think it's around June time roughly maybe July (can't quite remember) mac usually starts the thread up, going by previous years........:thumbsup2

When do you start your usual thread for people who want to meet up for HHN Mac?

Someone asked me and I said I thought maybe May or June but couldn't quite remember exactly........

I wait until tickets are available to buy

People book their rooms in advance when they find the rate they want to pay
After that, they wait for tickets to be released

Can't remember which month I did the thread last time
But plan to do one for this Hhn season
