Hi, we've recently decided to go back to WDW this September  . How hard do you think it would be to get a 2 BR for a week around this time? Are these rooms hard to come by? We could easily go with 2 studios instead or something like that. We're especially interested in VAKL or BWV.

In case these might not be available, could you recommend a resort that is kid friendly? We'll have 4 kids (1, 5, 5, 10) with us.

Thanks!

I don't think you will have a problem in September finding a 2BR. If there is still a month which is considered "slow" for DVC and WDW, I'd have to say it's September. Especially on the earlier side after Labor Day when the kids go back to school.

Just exactly how slow is it at that time? I don't have a problem with heat and humidity but how about those love bugs?

If you don't mind sleeping in one studio with two kids and your spouse in the other studio with two kids, you will be okay. Studios never connect to other studios and your children would not be able to stay in one alone. They may not be located near each other.

One caution I would give to anyone visiting during September is to make dining reservations as early as you can. Sept is free DDP time and most of the restaurants will be swamped.

You can make ADRs 180 days from your arrival date, and if you're staying onsite, you can book for the first 10 days of your trip. Not all availability is in the inventory during that +10 period, but some is. If you can't get something you want during the +10 period, book what you can and then call back exactly at 180 days from that particular date and you'll probably be successful.

We stayed at SSR last Labor day and will again this year. The crowds are average on Sunday and Monday, but Tuesday through the rest of the week it is REALLY slow!

Most of the time, we were one of only a handful of families at the pools and we didn't wait more than 5-10 minutes for any ride. We also walked right into most shows at the parks too. It was fabulous.

The only downside was that it was really hot all week. But the lack of crowds made it easy to duck into shows and keep cool at the pool.
