My bf's father finally agreed to go on a cruise.....and a Disney cruise at that! It looks like it's going to be myself, my daughter, my boyfriend, and his mom and dad. His mom is wondering if it's better to go during September or October. The two cruises I taken with DCL have been in October, and there was always at least one rainy day. Is September better to do?

Thanks much :)

Sept and October are hurricane season. That's part of why the rates are cheaper. We've done both and had lovely weather. THe ship may not go where it is scheduled, but you'll have a blast. The captain will alter the course to get the best weather possible, and specifically to stay away from any major storms, even if this means major alterations in the planned cruise (your documents detail that you have agreed to this!)

We've usually had one overcast day, but it only rained on one sea day. We've done several "alternative" ports...but never had to miss CC.

So...as to which is better, I think it really is a toss up. Sept is a little warmer.

what were the other ports you did?? did they have excursions ther e also..

We are going oct 17th can't wait!!

I think September is a little less expensive than October. Also, I was upgraded on a September cruise once b/c it wasn't full to capacity (also more chances for paid upgrades).

We have never sailed in October, but we've sailed Labor Day weekend on Disney every year since 1998. We've always been blessed with gorgeous weather! There might have been a little rain in Nassau once or twice, but we stay on board the ship there so I haven't really noticed. I know that it's hurricane season, but we have amazingly good luck. One year we actually sailed the week between two hurricanes. We're already planning to book the same weekend for 2005 (we already have our booking for 2004).

We've cruised in September twice and got lots of good-natured ribbing from friends teasing us about going during hurricane season, but we didn't even get so much as rain on either cruise in 2000 and 2002. I like cruising in September because of the cheaper rates, and the weather is plenty warm in the ports. Never have done October though. I say go for September!:earsgirl:

I just want to mention that rates are lower in Sept and Oct NOT due to hurricaine season (which starts June 1st) but because it is "OFF" season (school is in session).

We have sailed in both Sept and Oct. and could tell no difference in the weather between the 2 months.

I have gone once in each month. September Labor Day weekend one year, and we were fortunate there were no weather problems, and it was still pretty darn warm. October was good too, but it was a touch cooler, but still nice and warm, and able to do all the swimming and beach activities without feeling cold.
