September/October 2014 Roll Call

Slowly reaching the end of a loooooong countdown. We were last in WDW April last year doing a site visit for our Disney Wedding and the date is approaching!

26th October MEL-LAX
Spend a couple of days in LA/Hollywood. Doing the hike to the Hollywood sign, staying in the hotel from Ghostbusters, likely doing a studio tour (probably Warner Brothers - I love Batman) and then heading down to Anaheim for four days and my first trip to the Happiest Place on Earth. Mickey's Halloween Party on the 31st, Danny Elfman with the LA Symphony performing his music from Tim Burton's movies on the 1st and then on the 2nd we rent a convertible and drive out to Vegas. Grand Canyon, see some shows, generally playing Vegas by ear.

5th Nov Vegas-MCO
We arrive in Orlando on the 5th, our wedding guests start arriving from the 9th. We were hoping to do the Wine & Dine Half but it sold out more or less instantly and we were away the weekend it went on sale. Lots of activities, Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party on the 14th, Wedding on the 18th and then we're off again on the 21st. Off on on the Disney Dream that is.

21st-24th At Sea
Staying concierge level on the Disney Dream, sailing to Castaway Cay via Nassau. My fiancee has been booking the excursions, I believe we're going to Atlantis and possibly renting some bikes. We are thinking about parasailing or snorkelling again but we may not have time. Then it's the long journey home, the time difference sees us return on the 26th, a full month after we left.

Congratulations on your upcoming Disney wedding! Very jealous!

What a great trip you have planned :goodvibes

edeneye congratulations - sounds a wonderful wedding and associated trip you have planned.
PIO - we all knew you'd make it!!!

You knew more than me!!! :rotfl2:

I'm running into the post office soon. Have to lodge passport application for DS.

The irony of it all!! DH and my passports are valid. But we both needed new ESTAs. DS' passport is expiring in January. His ESTA is valid for another year. And his ESTA wouldn't accept an update because his passport was expiring in less than 6 months.

Oh well. :(

Edeneye, your wedding sounds like it is going to be amazing. What WDW venue have you chosen?

Thanks all! Our wedding will be at Sea Breeze Point with the reception at the Prop Shop. We've got about 14 guests coming from Australia and a handful more from elsewhere around the world. We've paid for all of our flights and accommodation, cruise, parties etc, now it's just the small matter of the wedding day itself. $15,000 due next week, eek.

Can I join in? I'm new to these boards & its great to be able to chat to other Aussies :-)

Hubby & I are taking our 9yo son & 7yo daughter on their first international trip.

We leave for LA on the 28/10 and then head to Orlando Disneyworld until the 11/11 & NY until the 14/11 before heading back to Sydney. We can't wait!

Wdw - All Star Movies 6 nights & Sheraton Vistana Resort 8 nights
NY - Tbc

By the way, I just checked out the first page of this thread (which I know needs updating), and I just wanted to say 'Happy Travels' to TashinWDW and Zanzibar who just have a few weeks to go.

Have a great trip TashinWDW and Zanzibar :)

Of course. :)

How exciting for your kids to be going on their first overseas trip. They are going to have an amazing time.

I've just been away on a little two day holiday that has reinforced the idea that we are doing the right thing with our busy but fun itinerary. I hope I feel the same after the holiday lol. It's less than a month until we leave. So exciting!!!

For anyone planning to do the Walk in Walt's Footsteps on your September or October trips to DLR, be aware that Walt's apartment will not be included in the tour I think early September through to mid-October. I'm a bit devastated :sad1:

After following this thread for a while I just realised that it applies to me!:lmao::cool1:

Depart Melbourne 28/10, arrive and depart Nadi 29/10, arrive LA 29/10, depart LA for WDW for 12 nights. 11/11 depart Orlando for DL for 8 nights. Then Nadi for 3 nights and arrive back in Melbourne on 23/11.

We will be doing MNSSHP on 31/10 at WDW :yay:

It will be me, DH, DD11, DD8 and DD who will turn 2 while in Disneyland! Can't wait!
