September Eurostar prices - advice needed please!

I'm just about to book HNY for September 2014 on the 2 free nights offer and the website allows me to book the direct Eurostar for £494, 2 adults, 2 children. My daughter will be 14 so assuming she is counted as a child? Is this a good price for September direct Eurostar or should I wait and book separately? The current prices for Eurostar September 2013 are coming out at over £600!
If I book through Disney I know that I will get the free Magical Express but will I be able to book our seats together or can you only do that if you book the Eurostar yourself?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I know nothing about Eurostar!

I can't help with everything, but I would guess that booking seats yourself, not through Disney, is going to be cheaper. This way, you can specifically choose which seats you want. If you book through Disney they allocate them, but you can ring Eurostar to change them - we did

Hi from 12 years they are classed as a 'youth' for their prices, well my son was when we booked direct with Eurostar. And a wave from me as a fellow Nottingham person!!

If you paid the best price for the Eurostar it would cost you around £240 so the price you've been quoted does sound a lot. There are no guarantees but if you book your tickets direct with Eurostar as soon as they are released you should hopefully get a good price. I booked my tickets for this September as soon as they came out back in January and paid £69 each, however I did have to adjust my dates slightly to get them. Even if you ring up at 8am on the day the tickets are released you aren't guaranteed the cheapest tickets as some are pre-released for group bookings and travel agents.

If you book direct you will be able to choose your seats which is a bonus and having the disney express option isn't essential. Many people prefer to go straight to their hotel on arrival to get their breakfast slots and then book the express option for the return journey (you can do this at your hotel).

Eurostar is only going to get more expensive the closer it gets to September so if that is the best price you have found then i would book it now

When tickets are released by Eurostar like already mentioned for adults they are £69 return (not sure about kids as there are only two big kids in our household!) As more tickets are sold and the closer you get to the departure date the more expensive the remaining seats become. Hence why September 2013 tickets are so expensive as we booked too for September in the early part of the year.

We booked with Disney our Eurostar for our honeymoon in 2010 and paid £200 for our Eurostar!!! So would definitely never book the Eurostar with Disney especially when our Eurostar tickets were lost in the post by Disney; we found that Eurostar themselves couldn't re-print them as Disney had purchased the original tickets and Disney refused to request duplicate tickets from Eurostar. Luckily for us we found a kind member of Eurostar Staff that when i mentioned it was our honeymoon bent the rules and re-printed the tickets for us. The original tickets from Disney arrived on day of departure!!!

Eurostar themselves are incredibly helpful and book up to 10 months in advance - what I've done on each of my 3 previous visits is ring Eurostar and ask them when the tickets are likely to be released as they release them in blocks. Usually they take my phone number and give me a reference number and call me when the tickets get released.

Hi, I am very new to planning our trip to DLP, we want to do a one way to DLP on the Eurostar in January. So, from what you are saying I should book this ASAP?

I have not booked my DLP hotel yet either, about to research how to do that now.

I don't know if the January tickets are out quite yet but I would definitely be ringing them to find out if they know when your dates will be released. This is for the direct route by the way. You also have the option to travel via Lille but tickets for this route are only released three months in advance.
