Hi! Can anyone tell me how the crowds are the week of Labor Day? Is it better to go the week before or after?

I would suggest the week after. That way all the kiddies are back in school across the entire country. I went this week 2 years ago and it was walkons all week.

All I can verify is the week after Labor Day. The crowds were almost non existent but because of the free dining offer the restaurants were jammed packed in all the restaurants but a few.

We rode on every ride we pleased over and over again. We rode some rides so much we actually got tired of going on them! The EMH night was fantastic. There was basically no lines at all! In fact we were the only family in the Country Jamboree one night during the EMH!

The resorts were basically empty also. We stayed at Pop on our first night and then again on our last three nights and it was not crowded at all. The food court still seemed crowded though. We spent seven nights at Coronado Springs and outside a couple of conventions we were basically the only ones in our section outside another family way at the end of our building.
We were there for the Night of Joy and planned our days outside the Magic Kingdom while the concerts were taking place. The crowds for the Night of Joy nights were insane and most of the people had very unchristian like behavior. So if you find yourself going during Night of Joy time plan on going to Epcot or the other parks.

If you have any specific questions PM me and I can give you more info.

I would suggest the week after Labor Day .The crowds shouldn't be that bad since all the schools will be open again.

We go that weekend every year. It's HOT! We've never had a problem with crowds as long as you utilize fast pass for some of the attractions. It does slow down quiete a bit the day after Labor Day.

We went last September the week after Labor Day because we had read that statistically it was one of the slowest of the whole year. We went in between the hurricanes, it didn't rain a drop all week, the crowds were non-existent (only waited a few minutes for Soarin' once), bottom line it was near perfect. The only bad thing was the heat- it was summertime hot still and we sweated a lot. If you don't mind the heat and the potential for hurricanes go for it!

Bumped up your first post and will bump this one up too. Hopefully a moderator will be by to combine them!

I combined your two threads into this one. Since this thread is about park crowds and not the Disney Resorts, I'm moving it to the Theme Parks Attractions and Strategies board, since they'll be able to help you out more there. :)

Happy Planning!

We went 2 years in a row the week after Labor Day. It was soooo empty! The only "problem" is the unpredictability of the weather. The first year, there was a tropical storm the week before. The second year there was a tropical storm the week before and then a couple of days after we left, there was a hurricane (2001). It's also still the rainy season anyway, so there's a shower every afternoon and humidity is very high.

I agree with the earlier posts about the week after labor day. I really enjoyed my time at Disney then and iam planning another for for september
2006.

well i went the week before this year and can absolutely recommend it to you...crowds were minimal and weather was nice ! (except a little rain every afternoon)

and the dining plan rocked anyway ;)

:goodvibes We always go the week after Labor Day and compared to other times of the year, it is AWESOME!!!....Crowds are pretty much non existant (they do not even open fast pass machines). You do have to watch out for Hurricanes....2 years ago, we had to rescheldule our trip twice because of all of the hurricanes.....Just keep that in mind :goodvibes
