September Crowds

We have been going from Labor Day until the weekend for a few years now and have loved how low the crowds are. We are empty nesters, so no issues with kids. We live in the south and are used to the heat, so go out early morning or stay late. I did get Tickets for a DVC event in AK and hoping it won't be too bad being a weeknight- it was free, so it will be good no matter what.

I am hoping last mid-Sept was a perfect storm of bad luck crowd-wise. A potential hurricane in late Aug. causing lots of people to postpone until mid-Sept (per CM's I talked to who agreed that the crowds were much heavier than they expected), the Jewish holidays hitting at that time as well, the first MNSSHP which was a nightmare, etc.

Fortunately I have been able to adjust most of my FP's and some of my ADR times and usually this is not the case.

I think it will be more crowded with the Food and Wine Festival starting earlier. It starts mid September. It used to start The last weekend of September.

We went September 25 - October 2, 2015. I will NEVER go to EPCOT on opening weekend of Food & Wine Festival ever again! It was so packed and so hot. My poor mother nearly fainted. It seemed somewhat crowded but not horrible otherwise. We are going back before our APs expire, this time earlier, September 16-22. I'm planning to go to EPCOT on the Monday after F&WF's opening weekend this time, and I'm planning to spend more time at my resort, AKL - first time staying there. The heat in September is no joke, I learned my lesson on that! I'll be packing all light-colored and lightweight clothing!

Went basically the same week in 2013 and 2015, staying at CSR both trips. 2015 was MUCH busier at both the resort and the parks.

My dates are 9/2-9/10 I changed these dates specifically from a month earlier hoping to skip crowds my kids start school here 9/8 so I am hoping them missing the first 2 days will be worth it.

I will be there Sept. 2-9. I just go figuring it is going to be crowded no matter what. If it isn't then it is a bonus! lol
