Spoke with DCL today - my docs went out 8/22 - I'll be sitting on the porch for the next 3 days. I ordered the cheese/fruit tray for my arrival. Usually I travel with my sister and it's a tradition at the WDW hotels, but I'm sure I will be able to polish it off all by myself. I'm looking for scooter kid and princesses How about Disney Grammy - wearing anything outstanding? HAM - Anxiously awaiting the buffets- eating alone - so if you see me, : stop by (and bring some CHEESE).

I will be the one with a 7 month old daughter and also a 17 year old (sister) and the hubby.I also plan to wear some beads (not sure what color yet, i have to go look thru the stash) and will bring some extras for anyone who wants them for Pirates night....

HAM - By the way, if I'm not wearing my shamrock mardi gras beads - I have long blonde hair, wear it up on top with a pony tail and I'll have my gold Philadelphia police badge charm necklace on given to me when I was promoted to Detective and eating alone - so if you see me, : stop by (and bring some CHEESE).

Besides being with the princesses, look for a black top with nautical items on it - ready to cruise . MMMM love cheese and fruit. Just hope I will be able to eat all the good food and not be seasick.

We are binging pirate outfits as our understanding is that there is a Pirate Party.

The passporter guide states that it is on ALL cruises, but only the 4 night and greater have a special menu...i also recall a number of 3 day trip reports that mention it. I could be wrong though

maybe someone who has recently cruised could say for certain

At least this week is flying by. We're having our wood floor refinished while we're gone, so I've been busy packing up everything on our bookshelves, entertainment center, etc. Gives me something to do!

i hope they don't change the menus around! knowing my luck we'd have the pirate menu at triton's or animator's. 2 places that i really want to see thier regualr stuff.

Found this on the DCL site - Theme Dinners

On both the Disney Wonder and the Magic, a "Pirates of the Caribbean" evening is featured. A pirate themed dinner is followed by a deck party featuring Captain Hook. Guests are welcome to wear pirate attire if they'd like.

Pirate night on the 4 day was the second night. That is the repeat night so you don't miss any of the regular menus. On the 3 day ,I don't believe they cahnge the menus. I have a bunch of menus that were left over that our server gave us ,plus extra pirate scarves for my gkids.Now if I can only remember where I put them.I am so disorganized it's pathetic.
I guess we all know what I'll be doing for the next 3 days.
Glad to see all the doc arrivals. Now it gets exciting.

does animator's still do the really cool light show during pirate night?
and one last question . . . would it be wrong of a 26 yr old guy to wear sneakers to dinner on non-pirate night. i'll still be wearing khakis and a dress shirt, but i really don't want to go out and buy a new pair of shoes. my regular brown shoes are kinda beat up, but since I work at a golf company, nobody cares. or will the cruise-wear police make me walk the plank?

hAm53 My husband wore sneakers to dinner everynight but Palo.He always wore slacks and either a golf shirt or printed button down.Getting him to dress is a chore as he has a weakness on his left side and has trouble with buttons etc.
I heard they loosened up the dress code and now you can wear nice jeans.As soon as dinner was over however, the shorts were back on and the tshirt as well.

The Wonder is in port but the only cam showing her is the radisson cam www.opusad.com/radissonwebcam/, It looks really cloudy at the port. We are expected to have rain today due to the hurricane and now the sun is shining and it's really nice. Better get to the pool early. Have to make sure I don't come back from cc red as a lobster.

Just made reservations for our 23rd anniversary. We are coming without kids (first time doing anything w/o kids - DD13 and DD8 are staying with Grandma).
Wish we could do longer than a 3 day, but work gets in the way. We were on the Magic in January, and really enjoyed it. We were unable to get ressies for Palo online due to our late signup - what night would you recommend for Palo on the 3 day?

Checked with UPS - my docs are out for delivery - I'm standing on the highway waiving to every UPS truck that goes by. I have a special pirate shirt that I wear for "pirate moments" - I'll be the blonde with the pony tail carrying a JVC video camera and wearing a black shirt with the skull and swords saying "Pirates - putting the naughty in nautical". And I'll be eating a whole bushel of apples....... (just alittle background - I saw Pirates of the Caribbean 12 times with my niece - just alittle fan of Johnny Depp...)
