September 8,2005 Disney Wonder

Teresa that's awesome news about your upgrade! We're right down the hall and a little over from you in 7550.

Sanddune, things have actually slowed down a lot (which means more time for surfing the net), although our entire floor might be moving temporarily so new carpet can be installed. I would be responsible for coordinating the move for my group of 30. They're not sure if we'll be moving yet, but at least it wouldn't happen until after the cruise -when I'm relaxed and ready to face it!

Andrea N glad work has calmed down. Last time it sounded like you were pulling your hair out. I hope the move goes well....after the cruise. To bad you can't stay stress free for awhile. Now get packing for your cruise. ;)

I just wanted you to know,My 4day cruise Docs are here today. So the 3 day should be comming next week. :cool1:

it's funny,l posted a cruise meet in Feb for sept 8 and never got any hits. Now by chance I came across this thread.Who would've thought another thread was out there.
This is our 3rd cruise. First was last year with hurricane Jeanne. 3 day wound up as a 4 day to Cozumel. I loved it but the grandkids were disappointed not going to cc. However they had a ball and never left the clubs til they kicked them out at 1.
Second my husband and I took in Jan. 4 day. Rebooked onboard sure there would be a Florida resident rate and upgrade, as we got it both times.
Alas, I myself upgraded us from an 8 to a 7. Still have my fingers crossed but hope is fading fast.
I'm going to spend a few catching up on this thread.
Feel free to ask any ?

Barb! Glad to see you're on this cruise. Read the article about you on the boards a while back.45 WOW
This is our third and hopefully we can all get together.
To add to the rollcall, I am 56 this month and my DH is 57.

I cannot take any seasickness meds so my son suggested ginger and I started taking the capsules 2 days before the cruise and thru the cruise and didn't feel anything.
My DD and her DS didn't listen to mom and really suffered the first evening as they didn't load up before they got on board.Until the meds took effect those 2 had a difficult time. He was fine once she dropped them off at the club.I thought I saw it's more effective to start taking the meds before you set sail.
This time we are doing a Navigators Verrandah and are by the 7th deck "secret deck"
Any ?, I'm sure Barb or I can try to help.

Hi Arlene! Glad you found us - sorry we didn't find your earlier thread.

So, what are we doing 3 weeks from today? :Pinkbounc

Hey just got my docs dropped off by ups. This is the earliest I've ever gotten them.Anyone else?

Well, it's August 19th and I am getting more excited about cruise. Hit a great sale and think I will look quite glamorous sitting by the adult pool. Police Women don't get the chance to do that too often. Will be a pleasure to wear flip flops instead of work shoes!!!!!!!!!!!!! I booked an extra day at WDW at the boardwalk to steady my sea legs when we return, rather than fly back to Philly on 9/11. Not that I'm worried but we Disney Lovers will use any excuse to stay an extra day!. Coming back in October for the Halloween Parties. Haven't planned any excursion at Castaway - any seniors have any suggestions... I booked the Discover Atlantis tour - anyone care to join me? pirate:

No Docs here yet.
IamAnniM sounds like you are all set. Atlantis is nice. I am planning on staying on the ship. The day at Nassau is the best for the pool and hot tubs.

We strolled thru the shopping area last time and then spent the rest of the day on the ship.
This time I think we may go to the casino early in the day and then come back for lunch.
I have never been to the casino and was thinking last time I should have gone. It's one of those things I'd like to do once.
Last time we were thinking of doing one of the bus tours. My husband was still taking chemo and was apt to get very tired so we passed. We'll just play it by ear.
We were thinking about the banana boat on CC. They looked like fun. They were right under our verandah . He wants to do one of the boats in the lagoon. I think he has in mind the pedal boat. Hope not, they looked very tiring.
We will prob go to the adult beach this time. We were at the family beach in Jan.
Now I have to pull out all my cruise related items and start to get everything in order.
Now we're getting anxious to go.

No docs here yet either. I know mine go the the TA first then to me, don't know if that's true with everyone or not.

Question to all the cruising experts: When is the best time to do the final Shutters viewing/buying. I want to the pictures from the last night of course so I'm thinking I'll have to do it from 7-9am on debarktation morning but won't that be utter chaos in there then? Is there a secret here? Shutters is going to make a fortune off me.

We'll be staying on board for Nassau also. But not for CC!!

Carlyn

Princessluvers I think it will be chaos on Sat . night and Sunday morning. Try to have all of your pictures together already. If you ask they will try to keep them together.( You will have to gather them ) I bought alot our last cruise!
At CC we plan on being at the family beach. If the 2 little ones go to the club.We might go to the Adult side for a little. I can always hope. ;)

Wondering about the photos on the cruise - any word that they may be set up like the photopass that you can get at Disneyworld (where you get pictures taken and given a photo scan card and you can look over your photos on line and puchase the ones you want). If not, I bet it would be a good idea. (Mickey, if you are listening....) I tend to purchase more professional Disney photos taken with the characters when I pull them up after the trip at home on the computer.

I love the Photopass system, wish the cruise would utilize it also. It is my understanding that we will be viewing actual hard copies of our photos, not digital images. Makes it harder for me to resist as I cannot bear the thought of my angels being "thrown away!" :rotfl2: Please anyone correct me if I have assumed incorrectly.

Sanddune - Thanks, I'll make sure I keep mine together, I was just hoping someone might know a magical way to get out of that last minute buying crunch.

They place the photos out all over the walls each day.You can buy a package which I think was 89.00.We just bought a few the lst night. My daughter did purchase her last night Palo photo before leaving the ship. Can't tell you how crowded they were as the last morning was not the norm. They brought us into Ft. Lauderdale and bussed us up to pc.Shutters may have been open longer than usual that morning. We were on the ship til after 10 waiting to be allowed off the ship. The lines were so long we just hung out on deck 4.Thank goodness it is nothing like that normally.
The photopass sounds like a really good idea.

Now that you guys really have my mind working.....Do you think there is any way that we can set up a meet on ship - maybe wearing a certain color ribbon on our outerwear and if we see anyone wearing the ribbon as we walk around we can introduce ourselves in person? I know I would love it as I am traveling alone and would love to meet some new friends on the ship - especially ones like you (on this message board) who have be equally excited and have been sharing our anticipation for the last month or so

I think it would be great to just say hello to everyone also....we live near New Orleans so am also up for bringing anyone Mardi Gras beads that would like some for the Pirate Party pirate:

Teresa

I'm up for a meet. I would meet before the sailaway party. It's really crowded and loud. ( You may see me up on the top deck waving to you that morning.I will have Mickey hands)
