September 8,2005 Disney Wonder

:dancer: :dancer: :dancer: I'M SORRY, BUT I JUST CAN'T STOP DANCING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My gosh, I haven't even thought about packing yet - going solo I am going light - shorts, bathingsuit, slacks, blouses, hat, PIRATE STUFF, lotions. I read in wdwig.com site that it is a good idea to wear watershoes for the shore (especially serenity beach). This site had a Disney Cruise Line manual which is really great to download and print. Gives some great tips. I see that I am on Deck 6 - near the elevators so it looks like it will be easy for me to get up and down to events.
It is so nice that some of you are considering a possible seat for me at dinner. I'll try not to tell too many COP stories. I have Disney Vacation Club and travel to the "World" often so I'm sure we can share Disney tips.

Hey Anni I think you will fit right in with most of us! I think it might come down to you might have to hop tables. Too many to eat with! ;)

Okay, I'm starting to get a bit more organized now. Good thing I'm not getting married, going longer, or have an infant to pack for! I picked up two Wal-mart gift cards for my girls to include in a hand-made card that they can choose their most special person on the cruise to give to... counselor, waiter, ... mom? ;) My DOCS are filled out and ready to go.

Finally decided... my girls will be wearing matching light blue and white print short sets, I will be wearing a blue and white tropical print sundress. DD4 is a blondie, DD6 is a brunette. Will be with DH and DM who will have to dress themselves! :rotfl2: You can't miss us!

Go Away Hurricanes!!! :worried:

Got our docs too. YES!!! :Pinkbounc

I just hope our luggages get to our room OK. DCL upgraded us from Cat. 9 to Cat. 6. Our docs still showed room 2010. I called DCL to make sure we did get the upgrade. They had printed the docs before they upgraded us, so we're definitely in room 6556. :cool1:

Has this happened to anyone? Did your luggages arrive to your room OK?

Just thinking about NewtoDCL - I think she's in New Orleans. Hope she and her family are safe.

Fletchers, that is great news - I'm also in Category 6 on the Deck 6 by the elevators - sounds like a great location. I have a room with the veranda (seeing it's my first trip). I can't wait to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

[I'M HAVING A THOUGHT - BARBOSA ------ pirate:
OK - I guess it's time to get to the Cruise Meets -I thought of 2 methods of being able to identify eachother on the first day of the cruise - something that could be easy for everyone. How about some sort of sticky labels like the ones that say "HI MY NAME IS......" (how original huh, now you know why I'm a Detective!) Otherwise the backup plan is before we leave - post what each one of us is wearing to the Pirate Party - Think of something unique so that we may be able to recognize eachother at the Pirate Party to meet and greet. Give it some thought and over the weekend we can start posting our outfits. I know I will may run into SOME of you at the "shrimp bar" but hope that we all will find eachother at the party. WHAT DO YOU SAY..... DO WE HAVE AN ACCORD?????? pirate:

The official color for the disers is green.Homedepot carries the disney paint and the paint chips are shaped like mickey heads. It's been said the color of choice is alien green. Any suggestions?

I have a couple of questions for those that have done this before.....as you can probably tell............I have not......this whole thing is present to celebrate how wonderful my DW is to me :earsboy:

I am not a fan of boats or water so you get the idea

Has anyone gone to any of the casinos on the Island I know there is a Marriot(I think) and Atlantis........

Also how early can you drop off your bags at the dock, we are renting a car and wondered if we could drop the bags before we took the car to be turned in the morning of depature...

JediDisney - it must be  What a great suprise. I'm a newbie to cruinsin' also, sorry can't answer your questions.

Hope we hear from newtodcl soon.

Andrea N - How long does it take you to drive from Orlando to the Port? I'm about 1.5 hours from Orlando, just hoping to get an estimate from a "real" driver versus MapQuest. :moped:

The port opens at 10 Am. So any time after that . I think for bags.
About meeting for the deck party. We are normaly up on deck 10 looking down. The dance floor is on deck 9. So it's not as loud up there. I have a pirates outfit . White top ,red and white striped skirt. I'll be wearing silver hoop earrings.I know this doesn't go with the outfit, but I will be wearing blinking black flip flops.(white flashing lights in the black thong part of the shoe.)
PS - I leave tomorrow. So if I don't answer anyone it's because I'm at Disney World and then the Wonder on Sunday! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Thanks Sanddune, that's a big help.

Have an awesome time. Hope the crowds aren't too bad for you at WDW.

I think we'll be able to find you with those blinking flip flops!! They sound cool, I'm sure my girls will be asking me to try to find some for them. :earboy2:

Until then....

We haven't been to the casinos, but plan to go to atlantis early in the am and then get back for lunch.I thought I heard there was a wyndham which has a casino as well. We just want to see Atlantis a bit.I regretted not going last time.

Is anyone taking the Discover Atlantis Excursion - I was suggested to take the Discover Atlantis which is a few hour tour of the hotel and it's surroudings rather than the Day at Atlantis Beach. I scheduled the Discover Atlantis and it sounds pretty good. Anyone have any news on these excursions?

Deck 10 is usually where we hang out during the deck party and it is loud as well. The speakers carry right up.We try to get a table at the railing so we can see everything. We're not into the dancing thing.
Hope everyone made out safe and sound during the hurricane. :moped:

Doing the Doc Dance!! :dancer:

Although we just booked, we apparently got upgraded from our 12 GTY to a Cat 8. Now we just need to get ressies at Palo, and early seating.

Looking forward to a great trip.

link didn't work. Gassed up the car last night when I heard the prices going up. Good thing . Went from 2.55 to 2.81 this eve and the lines were ridiculous. Orange cty schools just announced they are cancelling after activity and football and band buses as they do not have the fuel for this and may cancel buses altogether friday.Looks like everyones normal routines are changing again. Glad to be getting away from this for awhile. Another article in the news tonight and I don't know how to link it, said Carnival was asked to see if they could help with emergency housing in the affected area by docking one of their ships. They said they were looking into it. It also said their ship will be back in Mobile this weekend. That sounds quick?

I just tried the link, and it came up as page unavailable. The short story is that, as the headline stated, fuel shortages may shut down 10 airports, including Orlando, Fort Myers, Charlotte, and Atlanta.
Hopefully, it is just worst-case scenario, but certainly something worth knowing about. The feds did release some crude from the Strategic Oil Reserves so refineries have some oil to work with.
