Hi everyone I wanted to share a video on SAN DIEGO I thought it would be a nice Little preview for everyone
http://vimeo.com/48502577
Getting ready to make my Fish Extender. I've read a bunch of tutorials that include various dimensions but what I'd like to know is: What is the maximum length and width that will fit in that space? TIA for any advice you can give!
I have a quick question for my American friends; I work in kid's tv, and I've promised some people at the studio that I'd look out for some toys or merchandise from our shows while I'm in America, as we don't see much here. We have 2 days of shopping in LA before the cruise, have you got any suggestions for where I might find something like that? Or just toy stores in general? Maybe wal-mart? It's mostly Nickelodeon stuff, Penguins of Madagascar, Kung Fu Panda, Robot and Monster. TIA![]()
Wal-Mart (www.walmart.com), ToysRUs (www.toysrus.com) and Target (www.target.com) would be good options. You can check out their websites now to get a little idea what they have. In fact with WalMart you could order online and do a store pick-up if you spot an "online only" item you like or are worried about in-store availability of a particular item.
There is a Universal Studios Store at Universal Stiudios City Walk that might be good for Nickelodeon items (lots of other great food and shopping there also). Here's the link: www.citywalkhollywood.com
Our current plans are to spend Saturday before the cruise in Universal Studios Tours theme park (did I astually say that on a Disney site). I'm in TV, too. I work in TV advertising for Comcast which now owns NBC Universal.
Hope this helps.

Deb and Lise,
Thanks for your encouragement. MIL is progressing well. Much better than expected, and may go to rehab tomorrow. She is blessed with a strong constitution.
Lise - lol w/ the utensils - we always say pass me a fork and knife. Gotta love the Boston accent - I have lived here for 33 years so have picked it up a little,
Happy labor day to you all -beautiful weather in NE and we are heading to our cottage in Maine for a breather - it has been an intense week - from diagnosis to surgery in less than a week.
Michele
Agreed! The devil is in the details! As for Charly, she is 1 and recovering nicely (whew).
Thanks for all of the information!
Hello everyone....Happy Labor Day weekend.
We just booked this trip this AM. Never been on a Disney ship although have been on many others. We just wanted to sample the product. Have no children.
I worked at the Mouse House (Disneyland) in college. We as we still like to "play" we have also had Disneyland/ Calif Adv. Passports for many years since it is a quick drive up the freeway.

Althought our cruise will not exactly be in San Francisco for FleetWeek 2012, there are some ship arrivals listed for Wednesday, 10/3. It looks to me that four Navy / Coast Guard ships will sail right past Wonder to get to their destination, Pier 80. Link: Fleet Week ~ Events
- LHD sails into Bay 8:00 am
- DDG x 2 sail into Bay, to Pier 80, 8:00 am
- US Coast Guard Cutter Sherman sails into Bay, to Pier 80, 8:00 am
I just got a message from the FleetWeek folks with a translation...
LHD is a Landing Helicopter Dock (LHD) amphibious assault ship
DDG is a Guided Missile Destroyer (there will be 2 DDGs at SF Fleet Week this year).
Thank you so much for this info. This is very neat! My dh is retired from the USCG and was stationed on the USCGC Sherman many years ago, along with a few other CG Cutters over the years. He was on the Sherman when they hosted the Russian ship Volga for fleet week back in 1990, I think, right before we were transferred overseas. I remember being on board with my dh and trading trinkets with the Russian soldiers. Hats mostly but I vaguely remember Levi's being a topic. We lived on Treasure Island (military housing then), which is an island in the San Francisco Bay, built for the 1939 World's Fair We lived there for many years. We lived there for the Loma Prieta earthquake and when we returned from our duty tour in the UK, we were there for the Northridge earthquake also. A lot of history and memories for us in the Bay area. It's different being a tourist thoughI love it even more being a tourist

We get to LA two days before the cruise too! Are you coming from Auckland? We might be on the same flight. We are leaving Friday 28th at 9.30!! Where do you live? We live near Hamilton! I've put a huge order in from Target to be posted to my cousin who lives in LA, including some very cute pirate costumes for my daughters!!
It's all getting VERY exciting now there is less than one month to go!!! I'm hoping that I will be fit for the San Francisco hills after a stupid skiing accident on Mt Ruapehu last week involving needing to be rescued from the mountain and a 6-8 week recovery!! DUMB knee injury!!
Good times!!![]()
Came across rapidshuttle.net. Private transport but much cheaper than most others... any experience w/ them? Thanks!
Just wanted to post a follow up... I went to reserve a private shuttle online but found the price came out higher than I was quoted by email. I emailed them and was told I could reserve by email by replying w/ my flight info and credit card #. I replied w/ all the info except my credit card info and asked them to call me for it (since it's unsafe to send just over email). No reply and it's been over a week now.
I did some more internet searching and have found very little in the way of reviews on them. And the Better Business Bureau says it hasn't received responses to two requests for info (which would improve their rating). They are listed off a San Pedro website but not as being specifically endorsed- looks more just like ad space.
I'm NOT saying they are a bad company but I just wouldn't feel good about hiring them.
