September 30, 2012 Dream vacation

I went ahead and added the column to the FE spreadsheet (in my signature). Please let me know what night you want (or list it yourself). The options are:

1 - Sunday Night (Port Canaveral)
2 - Monday Night (Nassau)
3 - Tuesday Night (Castaway Cay - Pirate Night)

Please be mindful of what has already been chosen when you list your night - once a night has four groups, it is frozen.

Thanks!

To find me in the Port terminal or on the ship...
I believe we have the earliest check in time at the port. Either way, we are coming from the airport and will be catching the first bus to the port. I will be wearing my Disney Dream Maiden Voyage t-shirt. It is gray with a picture of the ship and big bold lettering. My husband will probably be wearing his as well. He will also most likely be wearing his maiden voyage hat (white baseball cap with Maiden Voyage written on the front). If it is a chilly day (just saying that it could happen) then I'll be wearing my maiden voyage hoodie--dark blue with maiden voyage on the back.

Note: I will have lanyards for delivery at the airport, the port, and the meet.[/QUOTE]

Sara, we hope to be on that bus with you! We're staying at the Hyatt the night before. We'll be easy to spot. My daughter (Mary-Grace) is Chinese, and we usually wear some kind of Disney t-shirt when boarding, either Tinkerbell or Minnie. My sister-in-law and niece justed booked this week, and will be traveling with us. It's there first ever Disney cruise!

We'll try to find you guys in the terminal. We're driving and planning to arrive no later than 11am for group 1 check-in and boarding. If not, we'll see you on deck 12 that afternoon.

ok good, that i can remember. But if we are facing the stage, are we also facing towards the front of the ship?

Mmmmm......???? I figure the ship will be moving and then we'll know??

Since our FE group is fairly small, and to help ensure a steady stream of gifts, i planned on delivering each day, as i read many other cruisers have done in their FE groups. am i the only one who planned this way? did everyone else just do one gift to be delivered one time? i know we did not specify, so i thought some people would do each day, others maybe only once. I'm wondering if i should rethink what i've got going on here. ?? :confused3 now i'm thinking it would've been better to specify a long time ago to make sure we were all on the same page.

I've seen it done three different ways:

- One gift per stateroom, per cruise (usually a nicer gift).
- One gift per person, per cruise.
- One gift per person, per day, per cruise (small things - candy, etc.).

We tend to go the middle route (out of the five cruises we've been on, all but one have done it this way), unless consensus is formed well ahead. That way it's individualized, but you're not dishing out an exorbitant amount of goods (as well as bringing a suitcase full, home). You're more than welcome to choose whatever path you want, but I know we're not prepared to give out 116 gifts (29x4) this trip.... :)

We want to deliver on Monday night! Just designed all of my door magnets and started working on my FE gifts. Only 4 weeks left! :)

ok, i'm thinking how i can consolidate gifting, considering i had originally planned for 4 days of deliveries. Maybe sign me up for Sunday, and i will package everything together for adult-only cabins. For families with children, I will have to spread it out over each day, as kids' gifts are larger.
Could someone please sign me up for day 1? i dont know how to work spreadsheets. Thanx.

ok, i think i put us in for day 1, did i do it right? did it work? i'm not a spreadsheet girl! :confused3

I put us in for the first night as well. It was 4/4/3, right?

My FE gifts are almost done as well. We did a few small things and will just package it as one gift for each child, one for each couple.

Diana - Does your daughter have a favorite character? I am trying to incorporate that into the kids FE gifts.

We will try to meet everyone on deck 12 during the Sailaway Party. Is this a good place to view the sailaway party? My kids will want to see it, but I know that they may not want to be on top of the action if it is crowded.

We are staying at the Hyatt as well! We have done it twice in the past and it's been wonderful. We always double check with the porters that our room number is on their list of pickups for the cruise. We usually grab breakfast at the food court before heading down to check in for the cruise.

If you let me know your sister in law and neice's names, I will add them to our roll call and get name badges printed for their lanyards. :)

I'm hoping it wont be too crowded up there, but not so sure! our first cruise we were front and center stage. it was pretty cool, but scorching hot! & unbelieveably crowded! Last year we didn't even bother. the kids didnt want to fight the crowd, so i believe we were in a pool at that time.

i'm excited for the kids to all meet each other! that way maybe they will recognize each other in the kids club and have someone to hang out with. Our first cruise my DD met a girl her age and hung out with her every day. She still talks about her.

Is the stage on deck 11 or deck 12? I was thinking we could go on the deck just above the stage, so that we could still see and anjoy the sail away party.

Not sure, but we'll know to meet on the upper deck overlooking the stage. i think it is 12 tho.
Sarah, shall i assume that was a no to the florescent and plaid? i just thought it would make it easy to spot you & our group :goodvibes

It looks like the stage is on deck 11, with deck 12 overlooking the stage, pools, etc.

Just thought I'd mention that the sail-away party gets pretty loud, so if we meet when it's going on, we might have to scream at each other. Doesn't bother me in the slightest, but I thought I'd throw it out there in case it will be a problem for some.

Thanks for asking. Emily's favorite character is Mickey.

True true. We can always meet up right before the sail away party as well. I'm thinking we will probably be at the meet spot before the beginning of the sail away party.

It could be that I am still not feeling well but I see two lists for FE, one has more on it then the other. It would be super helpful if we could get it closer. I know some people don't have room assignments yet and there's nothing that we can do about that. I would just feel terrible if I missed someone.
