September 3, 2005 --- Who is going?

Still singing the "Ain't got no docs" blues. Maybe they've reverted to using the Pony Express for delivery to Texas!

I know I'm too late to cast a vote on the meet (please forgive me, but I needed a Mickey fix and just got back from a weekender to WDW yesterday), but the pre-drill at Promenade and post-drill on Deck 7 aft sounds great. I'm sailing solo, but would enjoy meeting up with the rest of the DISers on the cruise.

Still have no docs here either. I think it might be The Pony Express like you said. Maybe after it comes to Texas for you it will come to Arkansas with our documents.

Has anyone done Coral World in St. Thomas? We were thinking about doing it and seeing Blackbeard's Castle. Is that worth doing? If anyone knows, I would love to hear your opinion.

Robyn

My sis just came back from a week in St. Thomas and she recommended Coral World and then a beach that is right there with it. She's been going to the same beach for 15 years and has photos of her DH with the same bartender each year. I believe the beach is called Kokie beach. (she also recommended a jewelry store where she fell in love with a 3 carat diamond--if you hear screams when we're back on board it's a pretty good chance that I escaped from the family and bought myself a treat.)

No docs here yet but a close call last night. Sent DS8 out to get the mail and saw him doing the happy dance in the driveway. Something from DCL!!! False alarm; just the DVD that I ordered to get us all excited. Worked for the monsters (DS and DD5)!! But not so much for DH--he fell asleep. :confused3 (Screams on all other nights will be his for not showing appropriate levels of excitement!)

we watched our dvdyesterday evening, and dd had a meeting to go over plans, complete with handouts from the dcl website. she's our little hyper planner.

Salbythec: Thanks for the great news that DH and I will be at AP for the drill.

Tekmnky: Wecome aboard! Which 6/05 Wonder cruise were you on? I was on the 6/16/05 Wonder.

DisneyDadJax: I have compiled a list of cruisers. Send me an e-mail me at janziegler@aol.com and I can send it to you.

For Pirates night, DH and I are wearing Pirates of the Caribbean t-shirts I bought on E-bay. No extra accessories - yeah, I know, kinda boring....

Fellow DISers we met last year on the 9/18/04 Magic are trying to persuade us to go on one of the special 9/06 Wonder cruises. Great itineraries. Neither DH nor I can take that much time off from work. The rates are still reasonable. Anyone thinking of booking?

I was on the 9-12 June cruise. Had a great time! Hope you enjoyed yours the week later! I tried to keep the ship in good shape for you. :teeth:

You are so lucky. I wish the UPS man would come to my house. I have been trying to look presentable for days (by that I mean not hanging out in boxers or pajama pants, I still need to lose that weight and put some make up on my face) just in case the UPS, USPS or FedEx guy decided to come. I can't take the suspense anymore. I am starting to wonder if it has all been a dream, am I really even going on the cruise?

Robyn

anybody have an approximate kid count of DisKids? It'd be fun to have a little treat for them (makes more room in the suitcase for the stuff I bring back from the jewelry store in St. Thomas :rotfl2: )

I know folks are keeping track for name tags but wondered if the list was that in-depth. No docs for me yet and the dog ate the eyepatch. I think he knows he's going to be left behind :guilty: My DD doesn't understand why a springer spaniel wouldn't work out on board ship...after all goofy and pluto are fine onboard.

Hopefully the docs will be there tonight. It would help remind me why I'm currently working my behind off to cover everyone elses vacation!

Omapcw1 - My wife and I got a good laugh about the dog with the eye patch. I was planning on ordering some pirate stuff on line. I'll be happy to set aside some eye patches and tattoos for you. Let me know how many you need.

Frank

I created a list of us 9/3/05 DISers. I plan to update the list again this weekend. I'll browse through the past few weeks of threads and add names, ages, etc. if I don't already have them on the list. If anyone wants a copy of the list, email me at janziegler@aol.com.
Last count of kids:

Boys Age
1 11 months
5 4
2 5
2 8
1 9
2 11
1 12

Girls Age
1 1
1 3
1 4
1 5
2 6
1 7
2 10
1 11
1 14

There are no 7 year old boys on the list, so I may not be on there. Jan, I
e-mailed you.

My DS Tommy just received and replied to his first cruise buddy e-mail. He was so excited to get e-mail just for him! It took a half hour to type 4 lines, but he insisted on doing it himself   Now he's looking forward to the DIS Meet too, he actually has someone to meet :goodvibes

omapcw1 your dog eating the eyepatch has me :rotfl: He's probably trying to keep you from going without him. You'll have to bring back a nice treat for him.

I have one pirate costume already, now I just need another for my other DS. I am still toying with the idea of pirate costume for my self, just don't want my DH getting the idea that I like to dress up

Anyone start packing yet?
I left the suitcases out to air out last night, and came home today to find that my DH put stuff into them :faint: And I thought I was the early packer in the family.

Mary, tell your DH that all of the DWs are supposed to dress like French Maids in Lumiere's! :rotfl2: That was my impression!

F.

one is it's the home of oriental trading company and they have a local store. Went tonight and got all kinds of suprises for the kiddies. (even a new eyepatch for the dog which may make it via photo to out cabin door!) I won't divulge the nature of the treats as there may be kids lurking but it sure was fun and I had guessed about 24 kids so I was close! Walked out to a huge thunderstorm and convinced DD that running through the rain and puddles was just practice for the beach. :rotfl:

Costumes were out and I must say that I was tempted to go the pirate route myself but decided against it. I find that pillaging is best done undercover.

No docs yet :(

I think he'll like your thinking :rotfl:

We haven't gotten our docs yet either.

omapcw1 - > I love the idea of putting your dog's pix on the door. We always miss our ferrets when we're on vacation. Maybe I'll have to try to make door decorations with their pictures.

So DH and kids have left for the day and I jump in the shower to get ready for the salt mine. I'm in for about 10 minutes with fully lathered hair and the pirate pooch starts going nuts. Nuts like "there are dancing steaks right outside the front door and mom must let me out now!!" nuts. So what is a cruise crazed girl to do? I immediately decide that PP has mistaken the UPS man for a dancing steak, throw on a towel and run soap covered to the front door.

Nothing there except my realization that I'm out of control, I'd outgrown my towel and if there had been someone there--he'd have run screaming from the sight of me.

Tough day and it isn't noon yet. Postal Gods take pity on me (and your employees!!!).

Gosh, I'm sorry pirate pooch didn't get any dancing steaks and that you didn't get any cruise docs. Hopefully all our docs will come soon.
