September 29,2013 - DVC Member Cruise

Dry dock and DVC members only cruises are not emergencies. They are events that can be scheduled before they release cruise dates to the public.

For some it is not a big deal to change to another cruise, this is a date they picked at random. Others have picked this one for specific reasons.

We have several reasons for picking this specific date especially that my daughter is very excited about turning 15 on the cruise. But that doesn't compare to people that have scheduled wedding plans around cruise with multiple families making plans to join them.

Unfortunately, after reading this last night I did some research. We would not be the first to have their plans yanked away. I am already thinking of alternative plans just in case. I am sorry Danielle. I pray this all works out for the best. Maybe a miracle- they make it a DVC cruise with two stops at Castaway and let everyone that has already booked keep their reservations.

Oh yeah, I forgot to add. I emailed Michele at Dreams unlimited last night and she replied this morning. She called and the cast member didn't know why the cruise was not showing either.

Maybe we can all keep our reservations as one group of friends and family. We're DVC and so are Christine's parents. Knowing they were joining us, we added their names today to hedge things.

I'm not sure what the procedure is to have you as guests, but we're happy to help.

DH and I just booked this cruise while we were on the fantasy as part of a B2B with the 3 night that follows it. Plenty of cabins in cat 5c were available less than a week ago. Hopefully this doesn't get switched to the DVC member cruise as we like cruising over our anniversary. Or maybe they will give us an excellent deal on the member cruise to make up for it lol.

Just tried pulling up this reservation on the DCL website and it keeps saying there is an "error".
I can pull up our April reservation with no problem, so something is definately "UP".

SORRY - MY BAD......I just double checked and I was entering my ressie # with 2 numbers reversed. Once I put in the "Correct" numbers the ressie is coming up on DCL website. Go figure.....you actually have to enter the correct numbers...hahahaha

Hello everyone. My name is Paula and myself and DW ( Jo ) are booked on this cruise. I just found your thread and wanted to join the fun. I didn't realise until I read this there was a problem with this cruise! But you are right when you search in Sep 2013 the date no longer appears! However I just logged into my reservation on the dcl website and it allows me to amend my details, change my stateroom category etc. confused! I wonder what is going on!

We are from the UK and have already booked our 2013 flights so I hope they do not cancel on us!

Like I answered Jim in a pm last nite....this sounds like what went on this time last year with Disney setting up the Dvc members cruise for Oct. of this year and then turning around and made it for Sept. 16,2012 , and than added another one for Jan. 2013, a 3 night M-cruise. They took it off the DCL booking board and told all non Dvc members......" here is you money back" and told some of the Dvc members that had already booked...."you may stay booked" and we have " big-big perks for you". sounds like they are going to do the samething again.
And you want to hear something funny........I had dw- Kathy talked in to giving up our Sept. 15th cruise and booking with you guys.....Kris I can just smell the coffee the night before the cruise sitting around the pool at CI&S........

Ok maybe this is a dumb question, but if they usually do a DVC member only cruise in September... why not just announce it as a DVC member only cruise to begin with instead of screwing over those who booked in advance? That just makes sense doesn't it?

When they allowed DVC members to keep the reservation do you know if they made them pay more or pay in full right then? Wouldn't mind a member cruise if conditions stayed the same as current cruise.

I just got off the phone with DCL. After being put on hold for awhile they said they don't know why a freeze has been placed on the cruise, but that they should know more at the end of this week.

Does this mean what it sounds like? Is the Husurdady finally cruising with us? I've had enough cruise suspense over the last two days so come clean! I can guarantee you'll have a good time if you are!
