Good ones!

2. What style is the interior of the ship? art deco
3. How many categories of staterooms are there on the Magic? 12

Awesome! Now it's your turn SeeJennyCruise :-)

I completely forgot to add port parking fees to our budget. Does anyone know how much it is to park down there? I assume there is a fee like Port Canaveral, but crossing my fingers that there is not!

According to the link: http://www.portofgalveston.com/index.aspx?NID=91
which I got from DCL website : http://disneycruise.disney.go.com/c...s/galveston-texas/departure-port-information/
for seven days cruises it is $70.00....

Also I found at website Galveston.com which has a list for cruise parking with other companies

The comfort suites has free parking. I posted about it yesterday. I think I've heard that a few other ones do too. If you're staying in a hotel you might want to call ahead of time and ask. I had a hard time finding that info on their websites. I remembered reading a Disboard thread about the comfort suites though.

Also, there's a comfort inn in Galveston that I think might have free parking too, but it got really bad reviews on tripadvisor so we opted to spend a little more and stay at the comfort suites.

I'm in lewisville :goodvibes

What time are all of you dfw people heading down to galveston? Are you all driving?

We are in Hurst and driving down on Friday and staying with my sister. She gets to 'dog sit' for us and is also driving us to the port so no parking fees! Yea!

Nothing of substance--but I just love how active this thread is getting!!

Also, does anyone else have suggestions on when and where to have our Dismeet on the first day.

As of now, the front runner is 3 p.m. in the Promenade Lounge. If you have a late room change, bring the info to the meet. Maybe we can have a ship's photographer meet us to take a group picture....and of course everyone is welcome to bring their cameras. I hope we can share experiences and photos here after the cruise!

If you get a room change between now and the meet--don't forget to post it here. It might help to post Room Change in big red letters so we notice it!!

Can someone post the updated exchange list spreadsheet for me please? I want to know what the final list looks like so I can start my FE's.

Stacy, I have been continually updating the list as soon as someone new posts or pms me. The link on pg 34 will get you to the list.

If anyone needs anything for FE gifts Oriental Trading has free shipping on all orders through Aug. 7... use code WCE3503

I wish they would have had this offer about a week ago...I've already finished mine.

Hi all! We live.in Flower Mound and always drive.down to Galveston the morning of cruises.

We have used EZ Cruise Parking for 12 cruises and we love them! $55 for 7 day cruise parking. You need to reserve a spot online before you go I believe. One cruise, we were already on the ship, almost sail time, and realized we had left Hubby's important meds in.the cooler in the car! He had a knee injury and couldn't run, so I went. The EZ lot is 2 blocked from the terminal, but the driver stopped what he was doing, took me directly to our car and directly back to the ship. I was gone for only 10 minutes total! I cried in the van on the way back to the ship because I was ready to either run the two.blocks myself.or try to.find a cab. EZ saved the day, and we have been faithful customers ever since!!

Hi Everyone so sorry for being MIA. Been working on finishing my masters degree. I graduate this Saturday, then have two more weeks of classes. Then on top of that stress I injured my shoulder. I had to go to the hospital today for and MRI and will find out if I need surgery tomorrow. So long story long....it's been crazy. But very excited. My FE's arrived and look great. I have started working on the gifts and am so excited. Can't wait to meet everyone face to face!

Good evening all. First I wanted to thank you all for your kind words, thoughts, and prayers! :grouphug:

I also wanted to update you all. The good new was the MRI did not show any evidence of a tear. BUT it did show I still needed surgery. So at 10am today I went into the hospital and they first shaved some bone spurs that we're causing severe bursitis. Then the had to detach the tendon that connects by bicept to my shoulder and reattach it in a better location. I am now back at home resting as comfortably as possible with my Hubby waiting on me hand and foot. So it you see him on the ship (he'll be the 6foot bald man whose wife is freshly scared) make sure you tell him you hear he's a great guy! The good news is I should lose my brace around the 22 of September.

Now on to tackling making one handed FE gifts with my non dominant hand. YAY. :cheer2:

Tricia, I'm glad your surgery is over and went well. Yay for husbands who cherish their wives!! I hope you feel one hundred percent very soon.

Wow, that's impressive! I'll have to remember them if we ever drive down there the day of the cruise and need parking...what service!

I thought there was another homeschooling family on this thread. :) We are homeschoolers too. We are also traveling with 2 other families that are homeschoolers...Soccermom1422 and jpglisson. Yay for homeschool field trips!:cheer2:

I found some pirate lesson plans online that we may use before the cruise:
http://www.talklikeapirate.com/teachers.html#kimberly pirate:

These are cute and might be fun for other kids to do whether they homeschool or not. We are also going to read up on the Mayans and sea life in the Caribbean. Man, school was never this fun when I was in it!
