September 29, 2012 - Ropin' Some Magic in the Western Caribbean

Are the FE gifts supposed to be annonymous or can we say who they are from? I just finished my FE...I'm so excited!!

Most FE gifts have stickers on them with the Family Surname and Cabin number. Up to the family if they want to be annonymous :wave2:

I am posting for the first time in a long time and hoping I am doing this correctly! We just booked for the Sept. 29 Magic cruise from Galveston! This will be our first cruise. We are celebrating our 5th wedding anniversary - spent every one of them so far including HM with Disney! I have read about FE and Secret Mickey and don't know how to sign up for our cruise. We have our room number. We are arriving by car. Where can I find EASY no sew instructions to make the FE. Also door decorations? Any limitations? Thanks - DH and I are very excited!

I'm cheating on the FE and using a purchsed bag with three pockets. My sewing machine broke over a year ago and I'm not that great at sewing anyway. I'm using a LeSportsac bag, purchased locally with local flair. I see that the Summer 2012 line is Disney themed! :artist:

I'll continue the trivia:

1. What is the main statue in the atrium lobby?

2. Who created the chandelier in the atrium lobby?

3. What character is painting the name on the Magic?

Piper, on our last cruise, our DisBoards organizer did a type of scavenger hunt with these questions all over the ship. We had to turn it in at a certain time/place on the cruise, and there were small gifts for those who got the highest point value. Anyone game to prepare the question list and organize? My schedule is too hectic right now :hourglass, and will not get better in the near future, but I'm willing to sponsor gifts if someone else is willing to do the rest!

I just realized that my FE gifts are NOT going to fit in the FE pockets. Is it possible to put a name and cabin number on the gift and leave it at guest services and put a card in the pocket about where to pick your gift up? Does anyone know if this is possible?

Hmmm, not sure about this. Is it possible to use some ribbon as a handle and droop it over the FE instead? Just a thought. Somehow, it always seems to be busy for us on the ship, so getting to Guest Services not always easy!

Saw this on another thread, and decided to post it here to see if we had any interest. I think I'd be interested if DCL organized it...but wasn't sure about the other ladies on our cruise :confused3

I dont know if there is later thread on this but I am interested! We just booked this cruise! First time! So excited.

More Trivia:

1. How many decks does the Disney Magic have?
2. What style is the interior of the ship?
3. How many categories of staterooms are there on the Magic?

Have Fun!

What time are all of you dfw people heading down to galveston? Are you all driving?

We are driving to Houston Friday afternoon to stay at my parents' house. Then they will drive us to Galveston Saturday morning.

We lived in Lewisville for about a year when we first moved to the metroplex.

We are going down to galveston the day before the cruise. :drive:
We've never been to galveston before so I think we're going to take in Moody Gardens.

The Comfort suites will let you leave your car at their hotel for free while you're on the cruise. They have a shuttle to the port which is I THINK $20 round trip for up to 4 people... but I can't find the paper I wrote that info on! :)

We live in Waxahachie, and we always head down for cruises the day before. So we will leave on Friday. We usually stay in Webster in the Springhill Suites, very nice rooms and very close to restaurants, main event, NASA, and shopping). Its also an easy drive to Galveston in the morning.

My sister and bil are attending the Gideon's conference at the San Luis Friday and Saturday. My sister and I will just take their shuttle to the port. They assure me they have one that is lift-equipped. I am praying it is so.

We're in Krum, about 1/2 hour north of Lewisville! We're driving in the day of the cruise, probably leaving around 5am! It'll make for a long day but I don't want to take the kids out of school for another day.

Thanks to the military discount, we were able to move up to Deluxe Family Oceanview room and Room 8082. Piper, I changed our room on the FE list but noticed it looked like they were numerical. I didnt change anything other than the room number though because I didnt want to change all the work you put into it.

P.S. if any of you are military or dod personnel, you can take advantage of the discount for this cruise. The only drawback is that you have to cancel and rebook and are penalized for the difference, but the discount was really good and still saved money by cancelling and rebooking and getting a bigger room at the same time.
