My sister's, pooh667, birthday is the 6th so we are having a cake for her the last night and decorating the cabin, then we move on to WDW, dinner at Ohanas then a WISHES cruise with a cake. We are also going to celebrate her kids 10th birthday the 2nd night though it isn't until November. Our TA DU set it up for us with the dining room though I will talk to the waiters just to confirm.

Everyone's b-day plans sound like alot of fun ! I really should book a (birthday) dinner in WDW for dh. It'll be a nice way to end the trip. In all of our dozens of trips to WDW, we've never been in wdw for his or my birthday. But we have had parties for all the kids. My son was treated to an animator's kids' camp at the Disney Institute when he turned 12 (that is now where SSR is). It was a full day and he went around the different parks with the animators. He loved it so much he is actually studying computer animation in college. Then we ended the night with a birthday cake at Whispering Canyon Cafe (which was his favorite restaurant at the time).

For our girls, we had parties in Crystal Palace, Chef MIckeys and a boat party on one of the birthday pontoon boats that leaves from BW resort. Sounds similar to the WISHES cruise that LAWalz mentioned except it was to see Illuminations. Very fun night.

We fly back home in the afternoon on Oct 7. I'm glad we gave ourselves that extra night.

You know the door sign you made for my family?! I can't find it and need to print it off and prepare it with my other door signs!! Can you please PM it to me and tell me if there are special printing instructions?

Also, went to Michael's and found those flickering lights you mentioned. I may go back in a couple of weeks and buy them - after a pay day. For now I got magnet strips for my door signs and ribbon for my luggage so we can spot it easier. I scored and got bright hot pink ribbon that says Bon Voyage on it! And the best part is it was in the dollar bin!

Also, does anyone know where to have stuff laminated?

Who else does not have an assigned cabin yet? Just wondering! Please post if you get your room number! I am really anxious to see where we will be and if we get any upgrades!

Also, note to Sue: Please add my son Kody to the list of cruisers. He is 17. I decided to make him go even though he really does not want to and originally he was staying home.

Also, put me down for bringing pirate skull rings for the goody bags. Every pirate needs some bling, right?

My DD will turn 4 on October 1st while we're on our cruise. I actually plan to bring a PULL STRING pinata for her to give to the kids club counselor. I called and said they might allow it, so, I'm just taking a chance and bringing it anyway. DH and i plan to decorate our cabin the night before so that she wakes up to a "festive" room. This is her first birthday that's technically NOT a party, so we want to make it extra special for her.

DD will turn 4 about a week after the cruise. We're not having a party onboard for her but are going to ask for a b-day cake on our last night. I did find a Tinker Bell clip art to print out and make in to a magnet it says, "Today is my Very Merry Unbirthday."

DCL does not seem to mind if the party is the DAY of your birth or wedding. They ask if you are celebrating! I figure we can celebrate whatever we want, whenever we want. If the cruise is in honor of our anniversary, then we are celebrating our anniversary.

We have celebrated birthdays and anniversaries on cruises and enjoyed the cake they bring to the table but wish they would put the decoration on the top of the dessert we prefer instead of bringing an extra dessert. If we decide to celebrate anything on this cruise, we will ask if they can do it that way.

Some people get a CHOCOLATE pudding and cake creation with a flat white chocolate stand-up sign in the top--it looks GREAT! We always got a white cake with a pink jello layer on top and then the stand-up sign made of white chocolate. No one liked that cake but me so they went begging. We hope our servers got to eat them but have no way of knowing.

I buy clear CONTACT paper (NOT DUCK brand as it does not stick as well, but CONTACT brand) at Wal-Mart, cut it a bit larger than the item, peal off the backing, lay the picture on the sticky, smoothe it from the center to the edges to get the air bubbles out, cut off the corners and fold the edges over to partially coat the back. Then I put on the self stick craft store magnets and the door sign is ready to go. A roll of clear CONTACT paper makes a lot of door signs!

Is it too late to join the club of people excited to go on this cruise? My husband (31), daughter (3), and I (30) recently purchased tickets to go on this cruise (we had been looking at other dates), and we are now very excited. We live in Brevard county and have annual passes to Disney World, we're very much a Disney family. This is our first cruise, though, and we're excited to get going!

DH's birthday is Oct 7....so we'll be doing something during our last dinner. I mentioned this to the person booking our cruise. I'm hoping maybe our server will bring out a cupcake or something. I'm going to suprise my dh and decorate our cabin. But wasn't planning on anything other than that.

I Google'd that and it's so cute!!!! One of the reasons we've never purchased a pinata is because I've worried about blind-folded children yielding weapons!!! I really like this idea and am going to get one for DD's birthday. I think the adults will have just as much fun with that as she will!! (They're often bigger kids than she is!!)

JD: Yes! It's designed for younger kids.. hopefully the oceaneer club counselors will let the kids play. they were just worried about liabilities with a bat to the pinata, but this is harmless.
i'm ordering the one from oriental trading (princess) along with the treats for the goody bags. since i can't have balloons in the room, i'm going to decorate the room with pop up pink and red paper lanterns (like the round chinese paper lanterns) and tie it all over the room to simulate balloons. the paper lanterns fold flat and don't take up much room at all until you hang them.

We have a GTY 12 and we are still waiting for our room number. I keep checking the website daily to see if it is there. Someone said the earliest you will know is 30 days so hopefully we will know soon!

Don't know what type of printer you all have but most color ink jet printers will print directly to magnet paper. You may be able to scan or import you pictures and print them directly to the magnet paper. Anything you can design can be printed this way. We have found the magnet sheets at Hobby Lobby and Staples. That might save you a little extra work as I know what a pain contact paper can be.

For me - I have to print to paper and then do something with it. DH has a color printer at work so he prints it off for me and then I'm left to do what I can with it.
