September 29, 2007 - Magic

This is what I could find...

Day 1 5:30pm- Animator's Palate, 5:45pm - Parrot Cay, 6:00pm - Lumiere's

Day 2 5:30pm- Parrot Cay, 5:45pm - Lumiere's, 6:00pm - Animator's

Day 3 5:30pm-Lumiere's, 5:45pm - Animator's, 6:00pm - Parrot Cay

Then it repeats all over again. Of course, this is subject to change ;) Also, the speculation is... that if you have young children in your party you will get APL, traveling with older children or families together, PLA, and all adults, LAP. I don't think there is any way to know the exact rotatation you will have until you check in and get your KTTW card. Wouldn't it be nice to know in advance!

Thanks for the info! It would be great! We are 3 cabins, myself and my parents are adults only and my sister and her husband have 9 year old twins b/g. So if the speculation is correct that would mean PLA. It doesn't really matter to me but my sister doesn't want to miss Animators the 1st time or any of the shows and wants to eat with her kids every night.

Hello...this is Trent's wife, Tracy! I have always wondered what DH was doing spending so much time on this board...until I started reading and now I'm hooked on you all! Our DD will turn 8 shortly after the cruise (Oct 10) and so we planned on celebrating her birthday on the cruise as well. She also celebrated her 4th birthday on our last Disney Cruise!

Last time we went, we went with a big group of friends and I was kinda bummed that we were going alone this time. But, now, after reading all your posts...I don't feel alone! I'm so exicted that there are so many kids. It will be so fun to get to know everyone and for our DD (7) and DS (5) to make new friends!

Hi Tracy!
Welcome to the group! You are not alone on this cruise, you already have built-in friends/family! Although, after you meet some of us, you might want to be alone! :cool1: And yes! I'm speaking for myself!! :cool1: We're all getting really excited and ready and making plans and firming things up and all this fun stuff so it's a good time to jump in and get to know everyone! :grouphug:

Don't you think it's time to give ourselves/ our cruise a name and get this party started????????????????????? :cool1: maybe I'm the only one who feels like partying at 3pm at work... hehehehe

Pauline/Gr00vyChc :hippie:

We did name our group - It's DISBoarders.

Are are you referring to our first names? I'm Jac! :wave2:

Well I had Sunny Liston booked for St. Thomas but I decided I wanted to be adventurous and try snorkeling so I am thinking about booking the Doubloon. I have read great things about it. Anyone here been? I have a private tour booked in St.Martin the only thing I know that I want to do for sure there is go to Maho to see the planes! :cool1:

Wow! I go on a four day vacation with my family and come back to find 5 more pages filled up!:) You all have been busy!

MCraft17 - where do you live in KY? When are you flying out of Indy? We live in Ft Thomas and are flying out of Indy on Thursday evening. Wouldn't it be funny if we are on the same flight?

I hate to hear that the Palo Brunch and tea reservations are already booked! :sad2: I do hope they saved some times for us first-timers!! :scared:

We've booked non-Disney shore excursions. In St. Martin, we are going on a private tour with Joyce Prince. Read really great things about her on Cruise Critic. :cheer2: On St. Thomas, we've booked a day-sail trip with Captain Pat of IkeWitt Tours. A full day of sailing and snorkeling in the beautiful blue waters. :boat: I can't wait!!!!!

Hi Veronica! Ok! meet ya at the pool on embarkation day! Are you planning to join the pirate party on pirate night? My DD dreads it :sad1: and of course we won't force her, so we're not going to be there.

We're probably going to go to WDW on the day of embarkation, so that we could take one of the shuttles to take us to the port.. hhhmm but is this allowed? We're not staying at a WDW hotel, but what if we just get dropped off there and we line up to take the shuttle?

Anyway, when can make ressies for Palo? Do I make it online? Where should I log on? I'm so lost  but u guys are always so helpful!

We don't have any ressies yet as far as excursions.. no plans. I still have to book my DH for parasailing at CC.. but as far as St. Thomas or St. Martin.. no plans yet

What are everyone else's plans? Maybe I can get suggestions and recommendations.

Thanks!

Pauline / Gr00vyChc :hippie:

Hi Pauline!

We are planning on doing Pirate Night. Last year, we made sure Eva had a nice long nap late in the day and she was able to make it with no problems. Eva would not get Captain Hook's autograph because he is "scary" nor will she ride Pirate's of the Caribbean but she did like Pirate night. There are three parts to the Deck Party on Pirate Night:
Part 1: A Dance Party - This is really similar to the Sail Away Party except the characters and dancers are dressed in Pirate attire. Here is a picture:
DCL40.jpg

Part 2: The Pirates and Captain Hook enter and do a dance where they take over. Could be scary but it's well done. Eva was not scared last year but she seems to be a bit more sensitive this year so it could be an issue. Last year we were right up front and I did think about sitting on the upper deck to be a bit farther away this time just in case.

Part 3: Mickey shoots across the sky on a zip line and says "I promised you a party and here is a party in the sky." Here is a picture:

I completely understand following your child's lead with this sort of thing. We do the same thing. I just know I like having lots of information up front in case Eva asks me questions. I like to have answers. ;)

The Shuttle: The DCL Transfers cost about $60 round trip per person and leave from selected resorts and The Hyatt at the airport. One caveat: the transfer busses don't leave WDW until at least noon and they leave the airport around 9:45. Last year, we flew in on Friday stayed at The Hyatt and took the first transfer bus to the port. We arrived around 10:30 and received a #3 Boarding Pass. We were onboard around 12:45.

Another option is to take a towncar round trip from your hotel and then back to the airport. Check out the Mouse Savers website for good deals. It might save you money.

Palo: You can make reservations online. You need your reservation number and your date of birth. Click on "my Disney Cruise" from the DCL home page and click on My Cruise Plans to make reservations. If you are first time cruiser your reservation window opens up 75 days before the cruise which is July 16. You can begin making reservations around 1 am EDT.

Hope this helps a little!

You're welcome! We are also thinking we will get PLA. I am hoping we will, I planned our Palo dinner around it, but if we get APL we will be ok with that too.

I am so torn between these two! I went ahead and reserved the Doubloon Sail and Snorkel but I have also heard really great things about Sunny's tour! I hate this part of it because I don't know what to do!! :sad2:
I haven't given Sunny my deposit yet, but I really need to because time is drawing near. I am leaning towards Sunny Liston- I am a sick individual  - this planning is killing me, but it's all good! :goodvibes

Veronica, I love the pics! Now I'm even MORE excited for this trip!!

I also want to add to the goody bags for the kids. I just ordered pirate tattoos and bouncy balls from Oriental Trading as my contribution!pirate:

Hi Veronica! Thanks for the great pics. I think my DD is easing up to the idea. We'll see.

Yea.. I went to the website to book Palo.. but I'd have to wait until the 16th.. lol! I thought I missed the first day that we get to make ressies.. I mean for us newbies that is.

Did I read correctly that Palo is already almost booked or if not booked? What about pirate night? uuuuggghh.. my DH so wants to go to Palo.

Already beeen thinking about what to wear for the embarkation photos..

Pauline/Gr00vyChc :hippie:
For DD's 4th bday we just did a semi-quiet celebration at dinner. They brought her a cake and sang and stuff. Also, my DH had arranged for a goodie-basket to be delivered to our cabin as we were boarding the ship. It had lots of fun disney stuff and treats in it. She thought that was great! We will actually be celebrating her 8th birthday on this cruise and we really haven't made any plans yet. Here's a pic of her after opening her goodie-basket:

and one of her, DH and our server celebrating her bday at dinner!:

Beautiful pics Tracy!
I'm thinking of decorating the room myself since her bday isn't until our 2nd day at sea. I figured I'll decorate it while she's asleep, so when she wakes up there will be pink paper lanterns (collapsable :thumbsup2 - from Michaels) everywhere and of course a happy bday sign. We're bringing a little gift for her to open when she wakes up.

But I like the gift basket idea.. I'm thinking of getting one for her on her birthday. princess:

On St. Thomas, we've booked a day-sail trip with Captain Pat of IkeWitt Tours. A full day of sailing and snorkeling in the beautiful blue waters. :boat: I can't wait!!!!!

Ahh hah...So it's you...I just emailed them over the weekend and they responded yesterday and said they were already booked. I tried Rumbaba first and they were booked and referred me to Ike Witt. I think I have decided on the Doubloon though. I have this fear of being left so it makes me feel better that it's a Disney excursion.

I am so torn between these two! I went ahead and reserved the Doubloon Sail and Snorkel but I have also heard really great things about Sunny's tour! This is my exact feelings! I still have Sunny booked but haven't paid either. I am really leaning towards Doubloon. We have a private island tour booked for St. Martin so I am thinking that may be enough for my son. I can see where he might get bored on Sunny's Tour. Did you book the morning or afternoon Doubloon? I was thinking of booking the morning one and then after we get done going back to the ship to leave ds in the clubs and then doing some shopping or maybe taking the tram :confused3.

Thanks...Our bags are going to be great !!! :thumbsup2

Pauline,

If you're talking about Palo for dinner, You probably won't have any problem getting your reservation. If you don't get it on the 16th, do try once you board.

If you're talking about Palo brunch, those are much harder to get. Just be diligent and you'll probably get those too.
