K, I'll bring the pirate duckies for the goody bags.. how many bags do we need to fill?

Gr00vyChc :hippie:

I counted around 34 kids 12 and under. Not sure what age these would appeal to. I got 50 bags and plan to get enough items for all 50 but the items I am getting come in bulk and are reasonable priced.

Is there a post somewhere that will have all this stuff settled so we can print it out as a DIS NAVIGATOR?

One cruise we were on the Thread Starter kept updating her first post with cruiser lists and meet times so that everything was on post #1.

I do not care where we post it, just so I know where to find it.

Not sure what we will do with the group and what we will do alone-together, but nice to have the schedule so we don't miss opportunities we would like to attend.Jan

No we don't have one spot for all information. That would be nice though! As far as our meets we don't have any plans finalized yet.

SueRS, Shannon1984 and Ragdoll are the first three posters. Maybe one of them would use her first post to be a place for permanent lists?

Hi All! Haven't posted in a long time but have been reading the thread.

We also have 6pm dinner. Is there anyway we can find out our rotation based on the dinner time?

Thanks for any help!

This is what I could find...

Day 1 5:30pm- Animator's Palate, 5:45pm - Parrot Cay, 6:00pm - Lumiere's

Day 2 5:30pm- Parrot Cay, 5:45pm - Lumiere's, 6:00pm - Animator's

Day 3 5:30pm-Lumiere's, 5:45pm - Animator's, 6:00pm - Parrot Cay

Then it repeats all over again. Of course, this is subject to change ;) Also, the speculation is... that if you have young children in your party you will get APL, traveling with older children or families together, PLA, and all adults, LAP. I don't think there is any way to know the exact rotatation you will have until you check in and get your KTTW card. Wouldn't it be nice to know in advance!

I just found this entry on the TIPS thread:

post 35

I'm not a strong swimmer but love to snorkel. The vests that are provided on CC are not enough to keep me afloat, so I pack a small kickboard (flat, doesn't take up too much room). I jam it under the front of the vest and I can float around all day long without tiring.

Does anyone have an image of a Princess Minnie? I can't seem to find one in google or yahoo

I need it for my DD's Princess & Pirate birthday party princess:

Thanks in advance!

Hi Gr00vychc,

I found this picture online:
ThreeMusketeers09sm1.jpg

It's the best I could find and you could easily crop the turtle out. I would not have guessed that Princess Minnie would be that difficult to find. :confused3

I love the idea of a princess and pirate birthday party. I also have a four year old daughter and we had a tea party for her big day. At four though, everything gets turned into a princess theme and this was no different. We made foam crowns from Michael's and the girls had a blast decorating them.

Have fun party planning!

Thanks guys for helping me find princess minnie!

Veronica: are you on the same cruise? My DD will turn 4 during our cruise. I thought I'd throw her a little party (princess & pirates) on her bday (2nd day at sea) at the Oceaneer's Club. I'm not sure if they'll allow it and how I can throw her a party.. but I'll sure try! princess:

Thanks again!

How about Lumiere's? If we meet for lunch , say on the second sea day, we can meet starting at 11:30. Lumiere's is bright and open and I think would serve the purpose better. Of course, I'll be wherever the majority wants to meet.

We could all meet at the Captain Mickey statue at the entrance of the Lumieres at 11:30. Anyone who arrived a little late could just tell the waiter seating them that they're meeting the Disboard group.

I like this idea. Meet for lunch on the 2nd sea day at Lumiere's sounds perfect to me. Those of us bringing stuff for the bags can meet earlier to put it all together?

And I also like the idea of meeting on our embarkation day in the Promenade Lounge at 3! Then we have the drill at 4 and then we have the sail away party. If we meet at 3, we'll all know who we are and then maybe we can designate an area we'd like to meet up at for the sail away party if anyone is interested.

Got the confirmation from the TA today that our cruise is paid in full! :hippie:

Be sure to tell your servers about your childrens' birthdays! They'll get a button saying they're celebrating something special, a cake, and the servers will sing happy birthday to them.

If y'all want to meet before the Lumiere's lunch to stuff the goody bags, you can meet in the Promenade Lounge just around the corner. Plenty of seats and tables to work on.

Ok, I have taken Jay's list and added it to the first post.

Have a great day.:yay:

Hi Gr00vychc,

Yes, we are on the same cruise as you. Actually at one time my DD's best friend and her parents were going to join us on the cruise but now they are joining us the week before the cruise at Disney World for free dining instead. While I'm glad they will get more time together at WDW, I am a bit sad she won't have a friend to go to the club with. Since our girls are the same age maybe we can introduce them early on at the pool or something so maybe they can play together at the club so they "know" someone.

Veronica: That would be great if our DD's can meet. Sarah is a little sad that her friends can't be on the cruise with us, but she LOVES meeting new friends. There is a handful of kids around that age on our cruise and I'm sure they'll be thrilled to play together! Our goal is to make it to the pool on embarkation day.. that means getting to the port early :) We're sooooooo excited! :yay:

I wanted to let you know that I won't be able to have you ship the box to my parents because my father was called to pastor a church in Ohio and they no longer live in Fl and we decided to fly rather than drive. Just wanted to let you know in case you have to find someone else driving or who lives in FL. I will see if there is something I can come up with. I may do some stickers since I know my dd loves them!

I don't have the address handy (I'm at work, and getting the usuall done.... :surfweb: ) but you can ship stuff to the port addressed with the sailing date and cabin number and they take care of getting it to your cabin. I plan to make a phone call (or three if needbe) to confirm this and the address so that we can send a few items off. Just be sure it gets to the port early enough - you'd hate for it to be still on the shipping truck while we sail away :scared1:

Maybe we can meet you guys and others with little ones at the pool that first day. We are actually planning to go to Animal Kingdom that morning at eating lunch around 11 at the park before heading to the port. My goal is to get there about 1:00 and check in with my DD while my DD drops off our rental car and takes a cab back to the port.

Boarding actually starts around 12:45 and I think every boards in about 45 minutes. I figure by the time my DH gets back we can board about 1:30 but we will have already eaten lunch and can go straight to the pool.

By the way, what are you (and anyone else with a small child) doing on the port days? We have excursions booked but I am having second thoughts and considering canceling 2 out of 3 of them.

St. Martin:
We have Orient Beach scheduled but I have a couple concerns.

- We are booked for the five hour excursion that includes lunch and it may be a little too long for a beach only trip
- I think they have a giant trampoline in the ocean which I am not really inclined to let her do since she can't swim yet. She loves trampolines and I am not really looking for a battle on our beach day.

I am thinking about taking a cab to another beach instead. From my reading Dawn looks like a good choice and we would save a lot of money but then again the money is well worth peace of mind hence my confusion. :confused3

St. Thomas:

We are definitely doing Coral World. Although we did Sea World in May and will do it again in September I think she will enjoy some of the Caribbean touches that seem to be evident here.

Concerns with the DCL excursions:
-The excursion only allows 90 minutes at Coral World.
- The excursion is paired with either an island tour or submarine ride. The island tour is not all that appealing and we did the submarine last year in Grand Cayman.

I am thinking about doing this on our own as well and going to Coki Beach after Coral World.

Castaway Cay:

We are booked on the catamaran excursion in the afternoon. We are keeping this excursion for sure!

Any thoughts?

We are doing Coral World on our own since it is cheaper than doing it with Disney. They have a website www.coralworldvi.com where you can print coupons for discounted admission.

Hi Veronica! Ok! meet ya at the pool on embarkation day! Are you planning to join the pirate party on pirate night? My DD dreads it :sad1: and of course we won't force her, so we're not going to be there.

We're probably going to go to WDW on the day of embarkation, so that we could take one of the shuttles to take us to the port.. hhhmm but is this allowed? We're not staying at a WDW hotel, but what if we just get dropped off there and we line up to take the shuttle?

Anyway, when can make ressies for Palo? Do I make it online? Where should I log on? I'm so lost  but u guys are always so helpful!

We don't have any ressies yet as far as excursions.. no plans. I still have to book my DH for parasailing at CC.. but as far as St. Thomas or St. Martin.. no plans yet

What are everyone else's plans? Maybe I can get suggestions and recommendations.

Thanks!

Pauline / Gr00vyChc :hippie:

Hey Tonya! K, from JD's suggestion.. I'll be pitching in pirate eye patches for the kids. I think they'll get a kick out of it.. if they already have one.. at least they'll have another one ;) and I'm also bringing the pirate duckies for the little ones. My DD loves them.

Don't you think it's time to give ourselves/ our cruise a name and get this party started????????????????????? :cool1: maybe I'm the only one who feels like partying at 3pm at work... hehehehe

Hello...this is Trent's wife, Tracy! I have always wondered what DH was doing spending so much time on this board...until I started reading and now I'm hooked on you all! Our DD will turn 8 shortly after the cruise (Oct 10) and so we planned on celebrating her birthday on the cruise as well. She also celebrated her 4th birthday on our last Disney Cruise!

Last time we went, we went with a big group of friends and I was kinda bummed that we were going alone this time. But, now, after reading all your posts...I don't feel alone! I'm so exicted that there are so many kids. It will be so fun to get to know everyone and for our DD (7) and DS (5) to make new friends!
