September 29, 2007 - Magic

We ALWAYS get notified by email by American Airlines for any changes, even small changes like the one on Sept. We try to only fly American 'coz they always have good customer service.. so far and using our frequent flier mileage is a breeze.

Btw, how LATE can we get off the ship? Our flight isn't until 5:30 or something like that. And we haven't arranged for a shuttle to pick us up.. could you guys recommend a shuttle service from the port to MCO???? Thanks so much. :goodvibes

Re: Coral World - anyone else doing the snuba??? they featured the sea trek (snuba) in Coral World on the travel channel yesterday and now I want to do it!

:surfweb: Hi,
Coral World:
My three grand children and two daughters are doing the trek at 11:00am, I made the reservations last week...
have a nice day.

I was not notified at all. And I haven't been able to talk to anyone at Delta to rectify the situation!

:confused3 I could be missing something but the "Sea Trek" and snuba are different right?
Snuba is just with the long hose and sea trek is with the helmet? TIA :)

Just out of curiosity, did anyone get notified that their schedules had changed more than say 15-30 minutes? We didn't. All of the changes, and seat problems can often be fixed - if you know about it! And yet, as far as I can tell the airlines don't seem to care enough to notify anyone...

I was not notified, I've just been checking it myself. I'm glad I checked or we would have been screwed and stuck in ATL overnight. ATL is about the grungiest airports I have ever flown through.

I shouldn't complain too much because our four tickets were Skymiles Award tickets and for not too many more miles per ticket I book us all First Class. I'm really looking forward to the pampering.

GG: is the sea trek the one that you wear a white mask and you hold on to some linked chains when you get to the bottom? hhhmm i thought sea trek and snuba were the same thing... oh well.. i meant to do the sea trek then with the mask.

We had a major flight change about a week ago and were not notified. :headache: Our return flight is the day we disembark. We were scheduled to fly on a Delta direct flight leaving at 1:30, well they moved us to a flight leaving at 9:55 am on Saturday. :sad2: That 3.5 hour change would have been a guarantee we would have missed our plane had I not thought to check our flight schedule. Luckily (or unluckily) we have flown Delta enough to know that they always have changes too their schedule. :upsidedow Our flight to MCO was also changed but only by about 15 minutes.

It is my understanding that everyone has to be off the ship by 9:00. The breakfast times are pretty early but I believe Topsiders also serves breakfast the last morning.

As for a shuttle, we ran into the same issue. Since we will be at Disney World for the week before the cruise, we are renting a one way rental to Pt. Canaveral. That takes care of our arrival but I still had to figure out the departure. I considered a one way town car rental (Mousesavers has recommendations) but in the end I booked a DCL one way transfer. It cost $90 for the three of us but I know we are guaranteed prompt service. The DCL shuttles were lined up in masse after disembarkation and to me it seemed like the most dependable mode of transport.

Our flight is leaving at 12:40 though so we really don't have a lot of extra time. One thing to keep in mind is that Saturdays at MCO are incredibly busy. In 2005, we almost missed our flight because we only arrived to MCO 2hours early. The security line was the longest I have ever seen. It was actually backed up to the Disney Store. :sad1: Definitely allow three hours at the airport. You may not need it but if you do, it will be a lot less stressful.

As for a 5:00 flight, you have a few options. One: you can hang out in the airport. They actually do have decent shopping and food options. Two: You can rent a day room at the Hyatt for around $65 (I think). The Hyatt is in the airport and they have a rooftop pool. We stayed there the night before our cruise last year and it is very nice. Three: You can reserve a one way rental to MCO and spend some time at Downtown Disney.

ARE YOU SERIOUS?? I think our flight is at noon, I guess we really won't have time to goof off.

Last year the line was not nearly as bad but we flew back on a Wednesday. I think Saturday mornings are extra busy because a lot of people vacation Saturday to Saturday.

Thanks for the info on transportation Veronica.:flower3:
I think we'll go with DCL 'coz it's less hassle. Geez I haven't been to MCO for more than 10 years now and I don't remember a thing. How far is downtown disney?? from there??

DD is about 30 minutes from MCO

I looked at my flights on Jet Blue and found my flight into MCO is leaving 5 minutes earlier which means we will be at JFK before 5:30am on the 27th. But the good news is we should be at WDW by 10:30am.

Called Delta this evening (Trent, I think you called on the wrong day. My total phone time was 4 minutes!) Before I could even say what my problem was, the girl on the phone reviewed the reservation and commented my 4+ hour layover in Atlanta was far too long and she changed it to an hour long layover. Works for me!!! That was amazing. I'm not angry any more. :cool1:

Sounds like you got a nice and efficient person. It seems like this is not common these days.

She was very nice. I literally just confirmed my last name and she was off talking about our schedule changes and comparing it to the original. I didn't have to say anything about the 4+ hour layover! She immediately was all over it!! :cutie: But I did have to say a 4+ hour layover with a 3 year old is not my idea of a good time!! :rolleyes1 She agreed. It was great. I feel really bad it took Trent 2 hours to resolve his!!

I have several thoughts about my wait time:

1. I called on a Sunday, virtually the busiest travel day of the week.

2. When you are in the airport and you need the re-ticketing department, they have a telephone kiosk that you just pick up the handset and you immediately get a CSR to talk to. My guess is that those at the airport kiosks take first priority and then those who call in outside the airport filter in as the number of kiosk calls are completed.

Just my thought.

Well, that makes sense. I was going to wait until this weekend to call Delta but decided to take my chances right before starting dinner. I was pleasantly surprised. ;)

I did ask what the chances are of my schedule changing again and she said it may but shouldn't be too much different. No more 4 hour layovers! She said I'm fortunate that we're flying popular cities: Orlando, Atlanta and Phoenix.

I guess this is a good warning for all of us to keep checking our flight schedules!!! :hippie:

You people got me worried so I checked my flights too, going to MCO stayed the same, coming back got bumped out a little to 1:05.

Also - Fallon got her passport yesterday but in the time it took to process she's already changed so much! princess:

Happy hump day!

How long did it take for them to process your passports? DH and DD applied 10 weeks ago. Was just wondering when I should start getting nervous.
