September 22, 2007 -- WESTERN

Is everyone having a tough time with their new clothes? Mine keep calling to me! Wear Me! Wear Me! I've been trying my hardest to wash them right away and put them away in our guest room. But I have all the clothes laying on the bed with towels over them and I am having a hard time staying away from them.

Not having that problem as my fave going-out outfits involve jeans and boots - we're back to wearing Autumn/Fall clothes in the UK! I just don't get to wear vacation clothes at home...

Haven't started yet but I desperately want to organise my outfits and, until I have a spare bedroom again, I won't be able to do that!!! Sooo I'm on hold until youngest DS returns to school on September 5th - then I can use his bedroom for packing... ;)

How about getting him a tent to tide him over until school starts. Seriously Karen, I know he is your DS, but you must maintain your priorities. :thumbsup2

That's not a bad idea! I'm pretty sure there's an airbed in our garage - maybe he could camp in there with the spiders... :rotfl2:

For years I've had a guest bedroom to use for such matters but our DD has inconsiderately moved back in while her DBF is overseas so that door's quite literally closed - it's v-e-r-y frustrating...

Definitely not the situation here! Today the high was 94 degrees.

OMG!!! You'll NEVER guess what JUST happened...

  The UPS man JUST dropped off our Cruise Docs :woohoo:  :woohoo:   :woohoo:

Gotta LOVE that man in Brown ;)

I must say I was SUPER DUPER suprised to see them. We booked a LONG LONG time ago (almost a year and a half ago)...through Dreams Unlimited...I'm not sure that makes much of a diffrence? Not only was I shocked to see them already...but the UPS man dropped them off LATE. He normally comes by early in the morning.

I'm still willing to take those upgrades :goodvibes ....but as of now there's not one listed.

Oh...I was going to say for those of you who are keeping an eye out for them (who isn't ;) ) ....the documents are ALOT smaller than they use to be. The ones we've gotten before came in a larger weak cardboard like boxy thing...and you got one packet for EACH person in the group. This one is in one nicer small sleeve (the seams could be reinforced)...and it's just ONE book for the group..including two luggage sticker tags per person and the Bahama immigration forms (one per person). Oh...there was also another flyer in the envelope as well... a check list.

Bob...I was also going to mention after looking at the luggage stickers we got... We got two per person= 8 total...Each one has DH's name PLUS either mine, DD's or his... Working out to two per person. Anywho...They are LONG...and almost look like it's four per sheet. But's it not...it's only two. They fold in the middle so you have the the info on both sides after you wrap it around the handle and stick them together.

I remember the first year we cruised and got our doc I thought we recieved DOUBLE luggage tags...but it wasn't so;) . Anywho...I just thought I'd let you know incase that's what was going through your mind...when looking at each sheet of LONG stickers. :goodvibes :thumbsup2

Looks like GTY 12 got two Cat 10's on deck two.

The gave them adjoining.
Which was odd to me because majority of Cat 10 are Connecting.

Oh well. Not my room.

De In Laws Are down below with Mike to whip them into shape.

Thanks a bunch to everyone who's voted. :goodvibes I'm still behind by 10 votes...but's it's close :thumbsup2

If not...just ask.

THANKS

Here's what my lo looks like..in case your intrested in what your voteing for:goodvibes

OH....I was also going to say I had another friend register this morning.....a couple hours ago and she's already been approved and able to log on. So it looks like they've gotten caught up on all the new registered people and are getting to newest ones sooner. SO it should be ready for you to get back on and vote later today.

Sandi,

I just registered - and you're only 9 votes shy of the lead right now! I'll vote for you as soon as I can! :goodvibes

Hi Sandi - I registered this afternoon and just voted...you are now only 8 votes away. By the way, I think your layout is the best by far. :thumbsup2
About packing - I keep a rolling duffle bag in one of our closets downstairs and add stuff to it as I think about it. For instance: water wings, sunscreen, children's tylenol, rain ponchos, washable markers, band aids, laundry detergent, etc. All of the stuff that I am likely to forget. It's not much, but it makes me feel like I am getting something accomplished. Temperatures are still in the 90's here, so we are definitely still wearing shorts. I probably won't be packing clothes until the weekend before we leave.

I'm still at work, so I don't know if our docs came today or not. Congrats to those of you who received them.:yay: I'll definitely post if I get home and find out that we got them. However, at this point, it doesn't look like I'm going to get home any time soon. :crazy2:

Looks like some more cruisers are having a happy day with doc delivery.
Just remember the non-doc people... there's always tomorrow!:cool1:

Ann also without docs:3dglasses

Gosh, you are right. It sure looked like four per sheet and the fold crease looks a little perforated, but probably just enough to fold properly. Thanks... :goodvibes

I'm just resigned to the fact that, as I live in the UK, it could be a while before we receive our cruise docs...

OH BOY! We Leave 3 Weeks From Tomorrow!!!!

24 Days To Cruise! 24 Days to Cruise!

As you can see, I am a countdown freak. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the cruise documents today. But now that I am looking for them, they probably won't come until the day before we leave. :) I reserved directly through DCL. They are supposed to send ours first! ;)

I will have a chance to pop in to the site off and on today. I am working from home. I have a presentation I need to work on and I can't get anything done in the office. Plus, I need a bit of a break today.

Maybe today I can get a chance to wash the new clothes Steve just got on Sunday. He still has a few more things to get. But we were becoming parched and needed to break for refreshments. Once that happened we never got back to the grind of shopping. I can't believe I talked him into a couple of Tommy Bahamas shirts. He has never worn anything like that. He is a Dockers and polo shirt man.

It's getting very exciting as those tickers count down! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: Just can't wait for all the tickets to arrive...

My eldest DS is off to his DGF's home for a couple of days so I'm taking advantage of his absence to organise my cruisin' clothes in his room - at least then I'll be able to work out what I have and what's left to get...

When we arrive in Orlando on Sept 21st, I'm hoping to drag DH to Mall at Millenia for a spot of pre-cruise retail therapy - I especially want him to buy a couple of Tommy Bahama shirts from the store there. I also especially want him to buy me a couple of pairs of Jimmy Choos from the store there but I may keep that quiet until we're there... ;)

Oh Karen, I forgot to mention that we both got the nicest pair of Keens. They are leather, but completely waterproof. I can't wait to wear them on the Sea Trek excursion on GC and the wave runners on CC. Also, if you find a Joseph A Banks in your mall, check out their Tommy Bahamas. They will have Joseph A Banks' tags in them, but are made by Tommy Bahamas. They have all theirs on sale for end of season. Steve's are very floral and look kind of Hawaiian. We decided to opt for tropical wear for Pirate Night. If Steve wears his shirt open with an eye patch, I think he might look like "Captain Ron"! pirate:

Tommy Bahama's. are they shirts or a tropical drink?:rotfl2:

One of the drinks that some liked on the 11 night cruise was the grass skirt.

1 1/2 measure of Gin
1 measure of triple sec or cointreau
1 measure of pineapple juice
1/2 teaspoon grenadine
1 pineapple slice
ice

Drop the ice in the shaker, add the gin, triplesec, pineapple juice and the grenadine and shake. Pour into a glass and top it off with a pineapple slice.
Little umbrella is optional. Mike

Sounds good Mike! I'm not a big gin fan, but I would be tempted with that one.
