September 22, 2007 -- WESTERN

thanks for the idea. DCL said I could leave it in the hall at night. I did have an extension cord as I had been told before going that some of the outlets were difficult to reach esp if needed length. I didn't need the extension using the outlet behind the TV. From where our room was I don't remember an outlet near the door. There was a neighbor stateroom that he charged his scooter the hall a couple times at night. not ever night just a few i saw it there.

I really didn't end being a problem, just had to remember to plug up when I could so I didn't have to worry about running out of battery charge. Which actually ended up easy to do whether in the room, atruim, or while watching cruise activities.

Step one of the 12 step PAA (plan aholic anonymous) Confess.

Quote: I too will pack, repack and pack again many times between now and the actuall cruise date. I'll search for the perfect traveling bags in an atempt to make the whole process smoother. ----- It'll start sometime this summer....It'll start first in my head trying to decide what outfits would be the best to bring...then the list in my head will find it's way to paper....where I'll sketch out complete outfits (well not actually sketch...but jot down).... Then I'll see what can be mixed/matched...what can be left out or what needs to be added. :confused3

By the time the vacation comes around...I need it BADLY just to unwind from the months of planning;)

Okay....I'm ready for step 2;)

QUOTE]

OMG you sound so much like me. I really tried out several duffle bags, different size suitcases, etc... until i found what i felt was best. My list was several pages on a yellow legal pad,, unfort though each time I checked something off I usually ended up adding something <G>

I also do the mix/match. take two color of pants. polo tops/camp shirts will match both color of pants. mix/match day and night outfits. except for formal and semi, but then i use my formal outfit pants put a red blouse and i have semi formal.

the pants and polo top i wear during the day, i can wear those pants for dinner just change top to a camp shirt and tank top (casual). I felt I did really well last cruise in my clothes. I only had two tops/camp shirt that I didn't wear. So really I didn't take too many clothes or not enough.

Before the cruise I had decided which pant/top/camp shirt for each day. I must confess that I didn't stick to that once aboard. For me that is actually a good thing. <G>

So I guess at least you and I need to determine step 2 and see if can follow that :goodvibes But on the other hand if something works for you, why not stick with it, as long as it doesn't add more stress:)

Step 2 I'm ok being a PAA as long as I don't get stressed out  :rotfl2:

I was thinking the same thing...If your okay being a over planner/plan aholic...then embrace it and enjoy every moment. Just don't let the stress build up so you crack;)

Plan Aholic...and proud of it:goodvibes

OK, I am of the other group - I wait until the last minute to pack. Last time we cruised I was up all night packing and sewing pirate costumes, all the way up to the time the Limo showed up!:rotfl:

well you can start the Last Minute Pack-aholic :rotfl:

Kathy...You crack me up. I would have thought you were a planner also. I should have known by now:lmao: Maybe I should start sending you some notes ;) ...I can plan well for others also :rotfl: Just kidding.

Okay....how silly is this. I've made a small list of things that we'll need for the cruise...things like travel toothpaste, travel bottles for soap, conditioner and other misc things...then broke my 'list' down by months so I can evenly spread the cost over the greatest amount of time. :lmao: Of course after making my list I have to see what we already have (no sence in buying more) before I break it into months. This month my items to purchase are: Toothpaste and some PRN meds (things like Tylenol). Next month it's some other PRN meds...before you know it I'l be all stocked up.:thumbsup2 I know it's silly....and over all the cost of all this "stuff" isn't that great. BUT it keeps my "packing/planning" urge down to a nice level.

Definitely believe you better look at Step 3 or even Step 4 NOW!!!!!

Remember, they do provide shampoo, conditioner, lotion and soap. Of course not sure if enough for your family for 7 nights. And since we never asked for more, not even sure if they provide more if use up what is in there on first day. But that lotion I loved. I didn't use the shampoo, conditioner or soap. My roomie liked the soap a lot though. Even wished she bought some before leaving.

PRN meds: imodium, bonine, benadryl, pepto bismol chewable tablets, allergy/cold/sinus, Theraflu strips are great by the way. melt on the tongue. easy to transport.

Dollar store, the ones that everything in there is a dollar. Get toothpaste/tooth brushes, etc.... there for a buck. If going straight home after cruise, throw what's left away. Why carry that home? gives up little space for those great things you buy during cruise :goodvibes

keep us posted on your packing list and repacking :goodvibes

The do give you more :goodvibes And if you ask for 'extra' I'm sure they'd give you doubles or more. We didn't end up using the tolitries they provided very much at all...but we did pack them home with us. On the first day of the cruise...I took the ones that were layed out, because we brought our own 'stuff' with us...and I thought they'd make a fun souviner to take home...anyhow I stuck the ones that were in the room in our bag....the next day our room steward left more:goodvibes

I hear that they have some new (nice) products now.....so maybe I'll use them this go around. Does anyone know if they provide conditioner? I always tend to use a ton of conditioner. ;)

they did provide shampoo and conditioner plus lotion and a bar of soap. They really are nice products. I normally use a specific type of shampoo and conditioner but am thinking that this time, leave mine at home. Just use theirs. less to pack <G>

here is list of what they "upgraded" but I am not sure when they did this. since your last cruise or before:

All cabins onboard Disney Magic and Disney Wonder will be outfitted with:

Sealy Posturepedic Premium Plus Euro-top mattresses
New pillows
Frette 300-thread-count linens of 100 percent Egyptian cotton
Larger, plusher towels and bath sheets in bathrooms
H20 Plus Spa Sea Marine Revitalizing Shampoo
H20 Plus Spa Marine Collagen Conditioner
H20 Plus Spa Hydrating Body Butter

Hello all. This will be our first cruise (not counting my Navy time). I have been told I will enjoy this more. Looking forward to meeting you all and gleaning tips from your posts.

We will be in Stateroom 7572 and have late dining.

Welcome aboard Bob and Penny. You are in for a treat. Mike

Welcome Bob and Penny. I have added you to our list of cruisers. I believe you will enjoy this and upon returning ready to go again SOON!!!

I just got back from the 7 night on Feb 3 which was my first cruise. Others around here have been several times so I am sure someone can answer questions, and offer tips if needed.

Ok I know we have lots of :hourglass (7 months) before we :boat:

however, for those of you that have cruised before what are a few activities you know you just have to do again? or maybe its something you didn't get to do on another cruise.

for those first time cruisers, what are a few activities you so want to do that you are already "dreaming" of:

::MinnieMo pluto: :tinker: :ccat: :donald: :sulley: :tink: :smickey: :mickeyjum :earsboy:

I want to eat more Choc Lava Cake :rotfl2:

Sandi - yep I am a bad planner! I always have good intentions to do things early, but always get delayed somehow! The summer always flies by with Anthony playing Baseball on 3 teams from March through July, then right onto Football and now Peyton swimming and cheering! And then I start planning Anthony's birthday, my annual Tiki Bar/Jimmy Buffet party and whatever else hits us at the last minute!! Whew, I am getting tired just thinking about it all!!! See, before I know it the cruise will be here and i will be packing all night!!! I sure could use those lists you make!;)

however, for those of you that have cruised before what are a few activities you know you just have to do again? or maybe its something you didn't get to do on another cruise.

Hmm, let me see - sitting on deck 10 for most of the day, trying the drink of the day (OK, trying several drinks of the day!!).......:woohoo:

Kathy

Sitting on deck 4 watching the waves and listening to the sound of the water rushing by. Trying to beat the other cruisers to the washers and dryers when the clean clothes are about gone.:lmao: Mike

I will add to sit on deck 4 as well. I only went out there once last time due to the difficulty I had getting back in in my travel power chair. thankfully other passengers were there and helped. I was concerned getting stuck so didn't go back out on deck 4 except that one time.

so Sept cruise, I should have a larger power chair that won't have problems going over the door thresholds/lips. So I want to get in one of those comfy looking lounges, kick back, read, take a nap, watch the water etc.....

So far my two (list will grow LOL): Choc lava cake, and relaxing on deck 4

sorry had to laugh about the washers/dryers. my first thought was bring a fishinig pole, drop the clothes hooked on the pole over the deck railing , let them run in the sea water a couple minutes, bring back up and boom clean clothes. So ok maybe a little salty but hey clean :rotfl:

another idea bring a big bottle of febreeze, and spray and spray. boom at least clothes smell clean :goodvibes

WELCOME! Bob and Penny!

scrapperjill, yes the roamnce basket includes two DCL robes, a frame and some chocolates. There's a thread out there that has a picture of the basket. If I locate it, I will post the thread. You can't really see much, but you can check it out a bit here: http://disneycruise.disney.go.com/d...sListing?name=ExclusiveMerchandiseListingPage It is the gift thrid from the bottom. Hope that helps. We also ordered the Bon Voyage gift on our last cruise and really enjoyed it. It has champaign (can choose from 3 or 4 types), chocolate covered strawberries, and petit fours. We had it with the Iron Horse Fairytale Champaign last time. You can see it here: http://disneycruise.disney.go.com/dcl/en_US/myCruise/giftsListing?name=FoodAndBeverageListingPage
