September 2011 - The Planning Has Started!!!

Have a lot of people here done photopass? When I ws on the feb countdown thread they had a facebook group with a photopass share but I just found the whole thing so confusing . Then a friend of mine posted her Photopass pics from her recent trip and they're so nice. It would be great to have a picture with my whole family in it. We don't have ANY.

We pre-purchased the photopass for $99 for last year and loved it. We came back home with over 200 photos.

This is our second bounceback..it took me a few to catch on! Waiting for FD can be soooo stressfull! I hope Disney will still be offering discounts in the future or many people will choose to stay off-site

Last year I completely forgot to check for a bounceback offer. And after being there for a few days, I knew I wanted to come back. Luckily Disney offered 2011 FD bookings last year. So I put the deposit down before the deadline. I have to remember to check & phone housekeeping if there isn't one in the room!

And yes, I think we'll be one of the families that stay off-site if there is no free dining for future visits. For a 9 night stay (2 adults, 1 junior, 1 child), that saved us $1,349 (we were going to pay before FD came out). If no FD, then we'll try Bonnet Creek or rent a home. We would love the extra room and I guess for the cheaper price I could cook breakfast and perhaps bring a few lunches into the park with us. But dinner & snacks for sure would be on-site in the parks.

I couldnt resist making one last post on the DIS boards before I head out. I cant believe I've only been gone 3 days and had so much to catch up on! I cant imagine what it will be like after a week!

We're going on the Caribbean Princess, and leaving out of San Juan. Were making stops at St. Thomas, Tortola, Antigua, St. Lucia and Barbados! Ive only been to St. Thomas out of all the ports so I'm super excited for this trip! Plus, I havent been on a cruise in 15 years! I was 8 and in the 3rd grade so its basically all new to me! Cant wait to head out tomorrow night! Have a great week everyone!!

We will be at AKV (Jambo) Sept. 11-16. It will be my DD's (then 2.5 y/o) first trip, and mine and DH's first stay in a deluxe (we've done several times off-site, and 1x each at ASMu and POP). My Mom and Step-Dad are also coming, and it will be their first ever on-site stay after many off-site trips

Bear with me here (long, sorry!):

So, the costumes I ordered for my girls for the PL arrived yesterday and I was so excited! I did order a size larger because the reviews on the website said they ran small. Well, the size I ordered for my 7 year old was huge, same for my 4 year old, but the size I ordered for DD4 fit DD7. Then I realized the costume in the size I want to keep had a small snag in it And, they do not have any size smalls in stock for DD4, grrr

So I called and the company's customer service was great! They sent me out a pre-paid label to return the costumes, I will get a refund for the one that is too large and they are sending me out a replacement for DD7

Anyone following my rambling here?

So, now all I have to do is hunt down another online site that has the same costume in DD4 size

So, it's getting worked out. I guess it's a good thing I'm ordering their costumes 6 months ahead of time, lol

Good Morning Gals!!! I 2 have noticed that it has gotten a bit quiet but as long as we keep chatting that's all that matters. We have lots to talk about....finding cute outfits, searching for Free Dining for those of us who are praying for it., searching for changing some ADR's. We have more but can't think the girls are asking 50 questions before school Well off to a Dr appt. and then to fly kites with DD's(7) 1st grade class. I will chat later.

I was able to catch up pretty quickly today. Not like you guys at all!


So, I just wanted to pop in and say see you guys in about a week! We are heading out tomorrow for a cruise and we won't get back until next Sunday. I'm going to try to stay away from the internet while onboard.

Does anyone have any advice. I just got my bank statement. I was suppose to pay 1500.00 on our vacation. The only problem is I paid 1800.00. Do you think if I call Disney they will refund me the 300.00?

I guess I hit the 8 instead of the 5 on the keyboard. It kind of messes with my budget and I'm really bad about checking those invocies disney sends me.

We bought the Photopass CD, March 2010, I got a discount before going and got it for like $80.00 and we used it at every photopass spot we could find. lol. It was great. I love it.

Just made our ADRs on Monday at 5:30am and I really am having a hard time waiting now! I don't want to wish away the summer but c'mon September!

We'll be there from Sept. 19 through Sept. 24, after spending 2 nights at Clearwater Beach. It will be my daughter's first WDW trip! She will be 3 then. We'll be at POFQ, unless we upgrade before then.

We will be going Sept 17-26 POFQ....
Then a week at Cocoa beach to recover

Booked with Free Dining before December.

I agree! My husband and I are going Feb for ours (and my birthday)! We haven't gotten to ride ANY attractions together because we have one (and almost two) small kids. I can't wait for that trip.

We finally got our money together. We don't know where we are staying yet, but in the next few days we should know. Hopefully we can get BC on extreme short notice (sigh), but if not we will still be at WDW with DD for her first trip

Btw, making reservations w/o knowing what DDP or where we are staying and losing some of the shows bc we decided to wait until we booked....yeah not fun. DH was informed/scolded.

My replacement costume is on its way , now I need to find a size small for my 4 year old.

After a slow start this am, you guys sure made it up!

We used Photopass in 2007--didn't buy the CD but made and ordered a scrapbook, it's my favorite souvenier from that vacation and we still read it like a storybook some times.

Also, I've been doing QuickRewards.net surveys etc. since late Feb. I've earned $100 in Disney gift cards so far! If I average $50 in gc's a month, that's $600 a year towards vacations too. Plus this is free money so even better! We also have the Disney Visa but don't use it too much. We should have about $50 in those rewards for this trip.

OK I'll stop now! Disney budgeting is a favorite topic for me, can't you tell?

We've never seen the need to get the CD before. However, this year we are going on a cruise with many other family members. Therefore, I am planning on pre-ordering the CD and splitting the cost of the CD with other family members who will benefit from the family photos.

FYI: DCL doesn't use the Photopass system, but maybe you were talking about using it at the parks before/after your cruise?! I guess I could be wrong, if it's a new thing they started since our last DCL cruise 02/09.

What can we talk about?????? We obviously are way too organized!!! We need a plan!

I will spend the next 5 months obsessing over DD's outfits for each day of our trip. She must have the cutest customs ever created, with matching jewelry and bows, and shoes! Every outfit has to be accessorized to the max.

We plan something special for every ADR, every park, every day. I can't help myself with obsessive planning!!

I've been a member since '08. So far this year since 1/4 I've made $308.68. Aiming for $600 before our trip. I do the surveys and also do all my shopping through them.

We use Photopass every trip, but rarely end up buying any. I just do it because it's easy, convenient, and I can also ask the FP photographers to use my camera for pics as well. On the trips with just DD and I, I'm not in many photos, so it's nice for them to take a few with me in them as well. I always get excited to look the FP photos over after the trip, but usually only order a couple. I find that my camera takes just as good, if not BETTER pictures. The only other benefit of the FP is the special effects they can use.

I wouldn't hesitate to buy the CD one year if they get a bunch of really good ones and it makes it worth it! Like if my camera got lost or the media cards were damaged or something......OMG, I'd FLIP OUT, but at least I'd have FP as a back up! Hope I didn't just jinx myself!!
