September 2011 - The Planning Has Started!!!

All right, we had my brother and his wife over last night and my sister in law made it clear that she thinks it weird that two adults are traveling to Disney for their anniversary. How do we get her to understand?????? (She has never been there)

DH and I would love to go to Disney alone sometime! It would be a totally different vacation experience. Somehow, I don't think the kids would let us do that ;) so I guess we'll just have to wait until they're grown!

Go enjoy your anniversary :cloud9: That's all that matters! :)

Bear with me here (long, sorry!):

So, the costumes I ordered for my girls for the PL arrived yesterday and I was so excited! I did order a size larger because the reviews on the website said they ran small. Well, the size I ordered for my 7 year old was huge, same for my 4 year old, but the size I ordered for DD4 fit DD7. Then I realized the costume in the size I want to keep had a small snag in it :headache: And, they do not have any size smalls in stock for DD4, grrr

So I called and the company's customer service was great! They sent me out a pre-paid label to return the costumes, I will get a refund for the one that is too large and they are sending me out a replacement for DD7 :thumbsup2

Anyone following my rambling here? :lmao:

So, now all I have to do is hunt down another online site that has the same costume in DD4 size :upsidedow

So, it's getting worked out. I guess it's a good thing I'm ordering their costumes 6 months ahead of time, lol

That's awesome! I love when companies have good service. Since my own company started really pushing good service, I've been taking notice of how other companies treat me. I've had really good and really bad, but good ones always make me

Definitely!

As for going Disney - adults only... when I was 19 I worked with someone who went there for her honeymoon and I thought it was so strange. I didn't understand what there would be for an adult to do there. I hadn't been to wdw since I was about 9/10 so the magic had faded for me but once I got there in 2006 I got it. I totally understood why she went there for her honeymoon and I would love to go there one day, just DH and I, when are kids are older. Sometimes there is a place so special it's hard to convey to others. :goodvibes Enjoy your trip!!

There's a LOT more drinking to be done without kids! :lmao:

I wish I could go just me and my honey! and I was so thinking bout bein able to drink if we didn't have the kiddo with us! lol. And u don't have to drive either go Disney buses! :thumbsup2

Hey, here's another option for you. I left making autograph books thru Artscow too late. So, I sent all the JPG images I got from the DISigners to Costco's photo centre instead. 10 cents a piece for 4x6 photos of the autograph pages instead of printing them myself. They looked great!! Then purchased one of those hardcover mini albums that held 100 photos and slipped them inside.

Thanks for the idea. I thought about something like that, but I don't want to use photo paper. I'd like a thick cardstock. I plan to have a place like Kinko's put a spiral binder on it when I get it completed, so the pages are easy to flip and sign! :thumbsup2

Wow, it's kinda quiet here! What are we going to talk about now that our ADR's are all made? :confused3 :rotfl:

I was thinking the same thing! This thread has been pretty active, but I believe I hear crickets! I wish I WERE finished with my ADRs; I put in a lot of extra hours in the past two weeks, and waited until the 180 day mark to make my ressie for the one and only TS that feels like a requirement of my trip, instead or logging on and doing 180 +10. I didn't think it would be such a big deal, since I keep hearing everyone say how they got all of their ADRs for the days they wanted, surely I would be able to get my one teensy Crystal Palace 8:05 am reservation? Well, as is often the case, I was wrong. :sad2: There was not one open 8:05 am spot for the entire week we are going. I want that time specifically because of early entry, which may be goofy, but I really want a family pic in front of a nearly deserted castle. Guess I'll be lurking on the ADR page on the WDW page until I find one!:rotfl:

Oh wow! Just keep checking back because people are always changing ADR's. ;) I booked CP at 8:05 for the same reason......early entry and photo ops! Got that idea from this thread :woohoo: I didn't originally have it booked. I think I went back to add it after a couple weeks or so?! Must've been luck on my part. Be persistant! You'll get it! :flower3:

Awwww, thanks MikellaCinderella! I will definitely keep checking, I tend to be pretty laid back with almost everything in my life, but when I really want something I tend to be tenacious. This one is the only part of the trip that's a big deal to me, because of the photo ops mainly. It doesn't hurt that the Pooh characters are my favorite, though! ;)

Good Morning Gals!!! :wave2: I 2 have noticed that it has gotten a bit quiet but as long as we :hug:keep chatting that's all that matters. We have lots to talk about....finding cute outfits, searching for Free Dining for those of us who are praying for it., searching for changing some ADR's. We have more but can't think the girls are asking 50 questions before school :sad2: Well off to a Dr appt. and then to fly kites with DD's(7) 1st grade class. I will chat later.:donald::goofy::mickeyjum

I think that I have become too organized when it comes to our Disney trips. I know what we need and what we don't. I know where we want to eat even though I do stress over it. I am sitting here wanting to do something to plan for our trip but it is all done! I kind of feel sad. I think I have lost it.:rotfl2:

The great CS made up for all the problems! I will definitely order from them again, because they made things right without a hassle. Sadly, great CS is becoming more rare nowadays. I'm glad to hear that your company is focusing on superior CS! :thumbsup2

Sorry you didn't get the ressie you wanted. Keep trying though and keep us posted! :wizard:

For awhile I felt maybe I was posting too much and was talking to myself a lot :confused3 but I'm here :goodvibes We've been busy with the girls being on Spring break but they go back to school on Monday. I agree though it seems to have quieted down a bit but I'm sure the thread will get more chatty :grouphug: I love this September group :cool1:

Morning! Flying kites with your daughter's classroom sounds like so much fun!

I know what you mean, but I still obsess about the disboards and my plans daily, lol

All we really need to do is come up with something else to obsess over for the next 5 months!

How hard could that be? :rotfl2:

I had a HUGE issue with Carter's and the level of service I received over the phone so I emailed them about it and explained everything that happened and how upset I was about it and they actually sent me a $50 gift card. I never expected anything like that from them!

That's awesome! It's so nice when a company makes things right.

The worst CS I have ever encountered was with Justice (.com) and I refuse to order anything online from them again :sad2:

Morning everyone!!! the weather is so pooey here!! :(

I keep searching for things to squirrel away for the trip!! The kids are so cute, since we lost the $500 taking care of our hurt kitty they are looking for every cent they can to throw in our Disney Jug :lmao: Gotta love 'em!!! The funny thing is its not like we are at a point of not being able to go, just lack the 'cushion' that I'd like.... ya know what I mean????

I hate when I have to decide to boycott a website, especially since I do 90% of my shopping online. It's just so much easier to buy things online than to drag the kids to the store!
