We did a Disney night every 2 weeks while waiting for our December trip. We would pick a movie and have food and decor themed around it. There is a great thread here about themes here

:worship: Thank you for posting this!!! I now have NO excuse to not do our Disney nights every month. How awesome!!!

I love reading about all the plans being made and everyone getting the ADR's you want.
The excitement is contagious!

Every day is Disney day at our house. :lmao:

We should do a dinner and movie night sometime, though. That would be fun!

So, my oldest got sent home from after-school program today with a fever and a stomach ache. Lovely. She's supposed to have a three-hour dance rehearsal tomorrow because they have a performance next Saturday. I'm not sure if she's going to be able to do it.

Luckily she's in the younger group in her company, so her part isn't super big or important, so I'm hoping she'll be okay if she has to miss.

Guess who got a pin in the mail today? My DD! :rotfl2::rotfl2: It's for free dining until 8/13, so it's not something we would use anyway, but I found it amusing.

That thread really helped me when my creativity wasn't flowing, lol! I plan on starting them up again during the summer when my sister moves home, since she missed out on all the others while she was away at school.

There are SO many awesome ideas on that thread! Now I just have to figure out which one I want to do first.... :lmao:

Ratpatootie (ratatouille) and Mexican pizza tonight!! any one else try to do Disney fun every so often???
Yup. Our arrival day is September 23 so we are doing countdown nights on the 23rd of each month

I'm considering either doing a Vinylmation for autographs or a 'something' we can frame.....

They sign the vinylmation?

I spent WAAAAAYYY too long making the mickey mouse silhouettes from bakerella for my daughter's birthday this weekend (dd turns 2 Monday and my other little dd turns 4 Wed) I am not a crafty lady. :lmao: Off to go make cupcakes now (in Mickey wrappers of course) and we will decorate them tomorrow with Mickey sprinkles :)

:yay: Awesome! Are you going to post photos? I still have to make ours.

I can post the links:

Oldest DD's book - This is more personalized. I used some of the standard templates on Shutterfly, but made some of my own layouts on others. I was trying to get pictures of her with the characters for every trip she'd been there (3).

Youngest DD's book - This just uses all standard Shutterfly layouts. I don't have many pictures of her with characters from her first trip (she slept through lots of it, she looooves sleeping in the stroller), so didn't have many pictures to use with her. I still think it's way cute.

I found this thread a few weeks ago and love it. I plan on doing a Disney night once a month, starting soon. I think our first will be Aristocrats, although I may be hard pressed to get my girls to watch anything that's not Alice in Wonderland right now. They want to watch that movie and read the books all the time.

That sounds really cute! You should post pictures if you get a chance!

I absolutely LOVE these! I cannot wait until I can make personalized ones like these.

I'm thinking our first theme night will either be Dumbo, Lilo & Stitch, or Peter Pan. These are easy to do and Dumbo and Peter Pan are classics. Decisions! Decisions! What do you guys think I should do first?

Hmmm, my fave of these 3 is Peter Pan, so that would be my suggestion.

6 months and we'll be back in Disney World!

Love your autograph books!

:dance3: What places are you going to be getting?

We officially have -

Day 1 (arrival day) - Kona Dinner
Day 2 - Crystal Palace Breakfast
Day 3- Yak and Yeti Lunch
Day 4 - Cape May Dinner
Day 5 - Le Cellier Lunch
Day 6 - Ohana Dinner

I got up a little before 6am to put these in online and it kept logging me out or not letting me go beyond the 180 days even though it was all confirmed in and everything. I did get on to go through before I finally gave up and tried to go back to sleep..... Then at 7am I got back up (never really went back to sleep) and tried again online but it was still acting crazy so I called and had everything done and confirmed with exactly the times I wanted in like 5 minutes.

I promised someone (about 30-40 pages ago ) pics of my little snowglobe collection. So here they are!

I love all the fun and creative Disney ideas you have all posted! Love those autograph books!! :goodvibes

Since my kids had done the autograph books to death and think they are too old for the Epcot masks, I made them Epcot passports for our last trip.

And I'm happy to report that we tracked down each and every KidCot spot and each page is signed & stamped!

Not sure what special thing we are going to do this trip.....

That is really cool! When you say you got them signed, do you mean by the CM at the KidCot station? We've never done KidCot.

I really like the snowglobes too. My daughter fell in love with one on her 2nd trip, one of Tinkerbell with little golden Mickeys as the confetti.

I have yet another link to share with you guys. It's for a custom Disney autograph book. :) http://www.couponingtodisney.com/2011/03/12/picaboo-make-a-custom-disney-autograph-book-for-9-97-shipped/

I like that! I created one like that last year, using designs from the Disigners. Let me see if I can find the thread that has links to all the designs.

Here it is:

Thanks everyone for the kind words about the books. I can't wait to get them and see how they turned out!

I called Disney yesterday and changed my reservation from the Kid's Stay and Play Free to the room only 25% discount. (My 35% discount expired at the end of February, grr.) I am kinda ticked at Disney for not offering free dining again this year.

We're finally home and settled in. Here's Lilyana Emilia Anne princess:

Beautiful!! Both your new girl and her name! :goodvibes

My 4 year old broke her arm on Monday :sad1: so my Disney planning has been on hold. We were in the ER for over 7 hours with her :scared1:

Poor girl. Two years ago my daughter broke her arm (at school!) during the last couple weeks. She had to wear a cast the entire summer and I had to pull her from summer soccer. I hope she feels better now. The bright side is hers will come off by summer!

Maybe you guys can give me some insight. We paid off our vacation at pop in full. While doing that I upgraded to CBR which is another 750.00. It really isn't the money but yes that is alot of money. Especially since I paid less than that for all 4 of us to fly.

I'm afraid I will miss pop in the worst way. We are on the QSDP and so love there foodcourt. So CBR or POP?

I agree it's a lot of money. I had been checking out the POR thread, thinking of upgrading us to a king-bed there since it's just hubby & I. A little more romantic. But... it would cost another $690. I just don't see that happening... especially after I found out we can't get a hot breakfast there until 7am and there's 3 mornings we need to eat that at 6:30am and be out by 7am. On very busy days for us as well! What did you end up deciding?

We did tell DD8 that all of the DVC members that own at AKV have to take turns cleaning up the animal poo from the savanna and that new members have to do it on their first trip.

I think she doesn't want to believe us, but she kind of does. We are evil, evil parents!!!

:lmao::lmao::lmao:

I love it! I would have told mine that too. I would have taken them down there when I got there and asked where they had to go...would have gotten a CM to go along with me..:rotfl:

You guys are so mean! I love it! :lmao: That's something my husband would think of! :rotfl:

I feel they need more sit down resturants in Magic Kingdom.

I wish there was somewhere for a sit-down meal in Hollywood Studios! I would like to enter that park without the mad mob.

Yes, I use heatbond lite to adhere them to the shirts first. And then I do a satin stitch around them. I also made these for my boys to wear on our first day. (I still have to make mine and my DH's)
mickeymouse007.jpg

I L O V E those shirts! Especially Donald on the orange. I'm not clear on what they are.. are they a type of iron-on patches?

Not patches. I hand cut out all of the pieces and then stitched them onto the shirt. :)
Here is a better picture of Donald close up. Maybe you can see what I did that way. I am also including the pictures of the steps it took to make him.

Peter Pan was one of our favorite nights. I made my mom and dad and son go on a treasure hunt around the house and find the pile of "treasure" at the end, which had a bunch of stuff for our trip. To eat I made garlic bread pirate ships, fruit "swords", and ice cream cannon balls along with Sheperd's pie (for the British theme).

For Lilo and Stitch we cranked the heat up, put on tropical music, and made hawaiian chicken and tropical drinks.

We haven't done a Dumbo night, but I think we will go with a circus food theme when we do.

I now have commited to a resort:sad2:,It just took me 3 mounths, three resort choices and to many calls to Disney to revise my resv:scared1:. I am Happy to say we are staying at POR,water&river view with the DxDP. I requested AB,building # 14,18 or #27. I can now start planning:cool1: for real.
