Curious Question....

I'm thinking of getting into snow globe collecting in addition to my pin obsession. I figured DH and I could start out slow by picking up a globe from each park. Anyone purchased a snow globe recently and have some pictures? :goodvibes

6th straight September trip

Holy Cow, I'm gone for 2 days and I have pages to catch up on! This week has been crazy for me at work and our nights have been even more crazy! Looking foward to this weekend so I can get the chance to sit down and get back on my planning :)

 Just wanted to say hi to ya-- we are in NWA. Glad you joined our thread!
:yay:
I'm originally from NWA! My parents still live there so we are there a lot! We also have season tickets for football so we pretty much live there during football!

Are you driving for your trip or flying?

L-Harper will you edit me on the first page? We are booked at the Poly!!!!:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:

So, how is it that WDW is getting a better deal on airfare? I guess I should call them tomorrow and see what they can do for me! :thumbsup2

YAY!!! :woohoo: I updated the first post. How exciting is it that you're staying at the Poly?! :cool1:

6th straight September trip

:welcome: :welcome: :welcome: I have you added to the first post! By the way, thank you so much for typing out how I'd add it to the first post. It made it super simple. :thumbsup2

Hey September Disney planners! We just booked for Sept 20 - 29 @ AKV. We have never stayed in any villas but couldn't pass up 40% off. We are booked Kidani Village. It sounds beautiful! Has anyone stayed here before? I'm looking at ordering groceries from greengrocer.com to offset some of the food costs. Has anybody used this service before? Thanks for any info and happy planning!!

We stayed at Kidani last Sept and loved it! We would have booked there again this year, but we are on a mission to try as many different resorts as we can. We loved watching the animals and the laid back feeling of Kidani. Our son had a great time on the pool slide and wanted to go to Community Hall every evening for the activities.

Yeah thats what I was thinking too! Ill probably wait til it gets a bit closer to the trip, once we get our Halloween tickets and have all of our tip money (and a little souvenir money!) put aside.

General question for everyone-What souvenir's and trinkets do you know you want to get or ARE going to get on your next trip?

I have done the pick a pearl each of our last three trips. I also tend to buy an Epcot shirt and alot of postcards. This trip I'd also like to get somethings for my kitchen, like a Minnie Mouse apron and some dish towels!

Good Morning All-

I am planning on doing the pick a pearl, have passed it up on all our other trips, I bought the cinderella coach holder off ebay last year but then had to cancel our trip :sad1:
I know I will be buying one or more of the 40th Aniversary Shirts ,and who knows what else, I surely don't have a clue yet :rotfl:

I told dd-12 about the pick a pearl and now she can't figure out how to spend her money between WWOHP, pins and now pick a pearl. I have a feeling she is going to try and earn a lot of money this summer :lmao:

40th anniversary shirts, good point Shiela!

Last time we went (in 2009) it was about $20 for the pick a pearl......

We collect SnowGlobes, just make sure to keep the boxes ;)

Ok so we are finally all set up

I'm SO EXCITED!!!

I started doing that. I have one big one with the castle in it and says WDW on the front. Then I started getting a smaller one from each park. I have one from MK, Epcot, and DHS. I am hoping to get one at AK this time.

I will take a picture of them and post it for you!:goodvibes

Yes, pick a pearl is on my list too! How much does that cost?

It is around $18. :)

Congrats!!!!

Sort of bummed because we were supposed to leave today for WDW, but am immersing myself in planning for Sept!

YAY! I have you added to the first post! :dance3: What an exciting way to welcome your husband home. My family and I would like to thank you, your family and your husband for sacrificing for our country. Thank you!

:cool1::woohoo: I'm going to Disney in 6 Months!!! :woohoo::cool1:

:yay: :woohoo: YAY!!!!! :dance3: :cool1:

Last night I was thinking about how fast the time is actually going, for me anyway. I cannot believe that I'm so close to my ADR day! I'm currently working on our itinerary so I know what reservations I want to make. I keep changing my mind. AHHH!!!!

I am excited for the 40th anniversary merchandise! I am trying to limit myself but have to get a few pins (MNSSHP, 40th anniversary etc). I collect them, not trade.

It sounds like we might be at POR at the same time--we'll be there 9/18-9/25! Where in WI are you from?

We are from Platteville (southwest corner, 1 hr southwest of Madison). And acutally we will be there at exactly the same time you are now! We need a date change to 9/17-9/24!!! We moved our trip up a week! My boyfriend is about to change jobs (and his current job was the reason we had to book the last week of September)...so this morning in bed we started talking about it-and I said if you're leaving we really could move our vacation up, couldn't we?! The only thing we'd be missing out on is maybe a soft opening of the Food and Wine Festival and then leaving on the day of the 40th Anniversary of the Magic Kingdom at WDW....and my boyfriend said and all the crowds that could come with that, which was a good point. So he said yeah, look into it! So I called while he made breakfast and we did! Then I realized since our dates didn't include October anymore we could go ahead and book our flights...so I looked them up on AirTran and Southwest, priced them out. Then called Disney back to compare (knowing some September planners had gotten better prices from them!) Sure enough, AirTran had quoted me $555 and Southwest had quoted me $577. Disney quoted me $420!!! They told me to call back a little later cause their system was having some updates-so I'm on hold with them right now to book it!!

I started having second thoughts about making such drastic changes so quickly because the airfare is non-refundable, and it would be $150 per person to change...but my boyfriend said go for it. And now its done!

Also pick a pearl for those who asked is $15 to pick the pearl and then if you want it set there you have to pay for hte settings, which run from $20 to a couple hundred dollars. Thanks for reminding me about the 40th Anniversary merchandise...I definitely want to get a 40th anniversary shirt!

Well, we officially did it....I think. I put our deposit down on AKL so we are doing a split stay....I think. I actually have a week at CR booked AND a week at AKL booked, but I'm going to amend both of them Monday.

Right now, the plan is AKL Club Level for 9/16-9/19 and CR Club Level for 9/19-9/23.

Now I just need to adjust my plans and we'll be all set.

Oh, and I just recently started doing the Christmas ornament thing at Disney. I get one every trip now. I used to do picture frames, but found out that I don't have a lot of places to put them, so I switched.

Congrats to all of you with flights! I'm so glad we don't have to worry about flights. That would be too much stress for me. Not to mention that I overpack beyond belief. Packing up the car is so much easier.

:lmao: Are we related? I have Poly CL AND GF CL booked 9/20-9/29. I can't decide!!!
