Afternoon everyone

Welcome to our new friends who joined us today! :cool1:

Ugg!! That is one of the ugliest things I have ever seen! Would have totally creeped me out! :faint:

Momof2disneyboys - The picture of that frog is great! Oh, I would've lost it!

And that frog picture scared the bejeebers out of me!!!! I think I would have woken up the whole resort if that had been on my stuff!!!!! ACK!

Shelly, that picture cracks me up! I can laugh about the frog falling on my head now. I really wish I had a video of the whole scene, I could have won money on AFV! I think being the mom of boys helps in those situations! They are always bringing something nasty home.

Momof2DisneyBoys: My goodness. Thanks to that photo and the snake-in-the-shower thread I think my boyfriend will be spending a lot of time doing reptile checks when we're at POR.

Shelly - my kids would have LOVED that frog. I would have probably screamed from surprise though :scared1:

The frog in the room was quite a surprise that night. Not that I am scared of frogs, I live with all boys and have seen plenty of frogs & little creatures. Just wasn't expecting one on my make-up bag in my room at WDW!!! :scared1:

The boys wanted to know why we couldn't keep it. :rotfl:

Okay, so where's the snake in the shower thread??? :scared: I just might have expired if that happened to me. :faint:

We're going to MNSSHP on 9/20 also! My DH got a Jack Skellington t-shirt to wear for the party and that will be the extent of his costume. I don't know what I'll do yet or what DD will do. I really don't want her to be overly warm! :headache: I suppose I have about 6 months to figure it out though! ;)

My oldest DD wants to be Minnie Mouse for Halloween this year as of right now. We'll see if she really wants to when the costumes come out.

I think my youngest will end up being Belle. She will only wear it for the party so she's not too uncomfortable.

I would love to dress up for real, but I'll probably just do something small. I don't know yet.

There was also a thread that had pics of a few snakes in some sort of column thingy at one of the resorts ( yea thingy is the technical term I'm pretty sure LOL)

Mine were Tink and Peter Pan and Cinderella the last time we went to MNSSHP........

I think we may go in 2012 for the party since we'll 'only' live 8 hrs away then!

Oooh, I saw that picture and I about lost it!

I can handle the lizards running around, but if I saw a snake like that.....nope. Gotta go, thanks.

WAHHOOOOOO I got my first set of customizable maps today in the mail~!!!!

I'm trying to get two b/c i want to send my DH a set too LOL They're pretty neat!! except AK is on the back of DHS and MK is on the back of Epcot :(

Wow 4 pages to catch up on......I took a nap this afternoon, tired myself out working to revise my spreadsheet for our trip this morning

It was 2 trips ago Sheila. So don't worry, you aren't losing it! :rotfl:

Okay, you ladies asked for it!!! :scared1:

This was November 2009.

We had gotten back to POR late one night after IllumiNations. The kids got changed into their pj's and I went to wash my face. I turned on the bathroom light and went to reach for my washcloth and saw 2 little eyes looking at me!!:eek::eek: I didn't take time to investigate, I just ran away and yelled to DH that there was something on my make-up bag. He tried to catch the thing and it jumped clear to the top of the mirror. Boy could that thing jump high and fast!! :rotfl: Eventually he did catch it and it went out over the balcony/hallway ledge!

At that point we had been there for about 3 nights I think. And we hadn't had housekeeping come in yet. So he had likely been in there the whole time. :scared:

Here he is!

Yes I definately recall now seeing and reading about the lil froggie, I probably would have screamed so loud I would have skeered everyone within earshot.

I have some stinky news. We are taking off the last 2 days of our trip, so we'll just be at Pop from the 7-14. We had a couple things come up and we had to take money out of our Disney budget. I'm annoyed and mad, but there isn't anything I can do about it. I know that we'll be at WDW again, so we'll be able to stay at AKL another time. :headache: So, now I'm back to re-planning. :scared1:

Sorry to hear you had to make trip adjustments, I know the feeling well, we had to cancel our trip last year due to our boiler biteing the dust :sad2:
I lost two days when changeing to Oct due to the higher Fall room rates and the lessor % off but much happier now not worrying about the heat and humidity.

Our first visit to WDW was only 4 days and we spent one day at Nasa, of course this was in '89 and WDW only consisted of MK and Epcot, MGM(DHS) had not opened yet, we went in April and MGM opened in May and the "old" Disney Village MarketPlace(what is now a much larger DTD) and I can honestly say it was our "BEST" trip ever everything is just so very special your first time you will have a fantastically magical time.

whew you all are Bizzay!! LOL

I hope everyone is doing ok :)

My Kitty is doing SO much better! Thank you all SO much for the kind thoughts and prayers for him!!

Ok, I needed more of a cushion for our trip that the BLT could provide, SO I changed our reservation to...... the Contemporary with a THEME PARK VIEW!!! Yay!!!!! I was worried at first b/c the room doesn't have a laundry OR kitchenette BUT we'll only have one w sippies and I can run down and do a load if I HAVE to......

Can someone PLEASE tell me I didn't make a mistake ?? :ROTFL: LOL

Glad to hear you kitty is better, my DMil lost a cat over the weekend, infact he "simba" was one of ours that she inherited.

I think CR TPV is a wonderful choice, I was booked there before we switched resorts, I do not think you will be at all sorry

Okay, ladies, I need help! My parents' 30th anniversary is tomorrow. With all the baby business going on around here and all the expenses lately it just hasn't been possible for me to really plan anything special for them. My plan is to plan a nice anniversary dinner for them during our trip. I'm thinking either Cali Grill or Narcoosee's and I'll also have the small wedding cake made for them. How does that sound? Good, bad, changes? Help!

I think that is a lovely idea for your parents anniversary, especially since tomorrow is March fourth, the day I say you "lil princess" is going to make her appearance.

So, I think I have adjusted our itinerary. Please offer your advice, comments, and/or tips!

Day 1 - (W Sept. 7) - Arrival Day / Magic Kingdom in the evening with dinner at Chef Mickey's. We'll be seeing Wishes on our first night, too.

Day 2 - (Th 8) - Animal Kingdom Lodge with lunch at Flame Tree Barbecue. We'll be spending the evening checking out the Animal Kingdom Lodge with dinner at Boma.

Day 3 - (F 9) - Magic Kingdom with lunch at Pecos Bill. We'll have dinner at Cape May Cafe with spending a little time on The Boardwalk.

Day 4 - (Sa 10) - Magic Kingdom with lunch at Cosmic Rays. We'll be spending the evening in Epcot with dinner at Les Chefs de France and seeing IllumiNations.

Day 5 - (Su 11) -
Rest Day with lunch at Everything Pop. We'll be spending the evening in Downtown Disney with dinner at Raglan Road.

Day 6 - (M 12) -
Epcot with lunch {hopefully!} at Le Cellier. We'll be spending the evening in Magic Kingdom with dinner at Main Street Bakery. We'll be sing the Main Street Electrical Parade and Wishes this night.

Day 7 - (Tu 13) - Hollywood Studios with lunch at Starring Rolls. We'll be spending our last evening in Magic Kingdom {I think} with dinner at Ohana.

Day 8 - (W 14) - Departure Day :headache: I have no idea what time our plane leaves. If its later then we'll be skipping MK the night before and doing MK this morning. If our plane is too early then we'll be doing MK the night before.

Your plans look good to me, I hate having to wait for these air fares to see when we will be flying timewise, as of now I am just planning on Breakfast on Departure day which will be fine as I would rather not arrive home after dark, since DH is starting to get a little "night blindness" he will deny this of course and I no longer drive myself
I might add Mk on your last night is a great way to end a vacation, that use to be our favorite place on our last night

The snake in the shower:

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2600340

At least it's not in WDW proper, right?

I normally read all the snake and creature type threads, but I do not recall seeing that one. :scared1:

I still have to sit down and send for those, I sent for ones last year with everything listed but I am thinking this trip of just marking off the things we plan and want to see this trip

well they have everything in the parks listed, but like my favs are orange and everything else is blue..... They're really neat though :) but HUGE I will warn ya LOL

That this is the best thread!? I love reading about everyone's plans and seeing the enthusiasm everyone is generating!

I have a lot of friends who just don't get my love of Disney. I get those "Why do you keep going back to the same vacation spot?" to "Why would you spend so much money on a vacation?" to "Aren't you sick of it yet?" kinds of questions. Kinda wears on you after awhile.

Just glad I have found a place to share ideas and to gain new ones for all things that are Disney!

4 more days 'til I can make ADRs!

Hi Michelle!

We're in Columbus... but will be probably heading up to the lake sometime in June! :) We always hit Mon Ami over in Catawba while up that way!!

I need some insights and discussion on taking breaks mid-day. I have such mixed feelings on it, but I can't really determine much since we don't have actual experience. I've read a lot of comments on it, but I want your guys' opinions too. I feel like we need to let the boys rest because I'm sure WDW is a very overwhelming experience. Then on the other hand I feel like we'll be wasting SO much time. Thoughts? Help me through this decision! :confused3

It depends on your kids for sure. My son is not an early riser so last year I let him sleep in and then we stayed out later that way. In December I had to make him get up early for RD, so we took naps midday. It helped, but it wasn't as successful as letting him sleep his usualy 10-12 hours. :rotfl: I personally didn't find it overwhelmingly hot last year, we were there 9/28-10/01, so the heat didn't drag us down.

Can I just say this is a FAST moving thread!! I have only been off for a day and I had a ton of pages to catch up on!! Yay for more chatty people!

Dh and I worked at Cedar Point when we were in college. I can still remember the spiel "welcome back Magnum riders.....". He worked as a life guard at Soak City. That was a long time ago! We'll be going to Cedar Point sometime this summer too!

I only live a few hours away from Cedar Point and sadly have never gone. DH has a few times and keeps trying to talk me into some of the coasters. :scared1:
