Okay, ladies, I need help! My parents' 30th anniversary is tomorrow. With all the baby business going on around here and all the expenses lately it just hasn't been possible for me to really plan anything special for them. My plan is to plan a nice anniversary dinner for them during our trip. I'm thinking either Cali Grill or Narcoosee's and I'll also have the small wedding cake made for them. How does that sound? Good, bad, changes? Help!

Aww, that sounds so nice! :goodvibes Maybe give them a card tomorrow that has a clue in it for them. Just saying that you'll have a special anniversary surprise for them in Disney. How fun!

A week is a great vacation length and now you have something to look forward to for next time :)

Shelly - my kids would have LOVED that frog. I would have probably screamed from surprise though :scared1:

Mickeypooh - have you stayed at WH before? This will be our first time there but the reviews look great :)

We love WH. We have stayed there 2 times. The first time in a 3 bedroom condo, the 2 time in a 3 bedroom townhouse. We loved both. There is so much room to move around, I love the full kitchen and being able to do laundry whenever I want to without walking to a laundry room. Best of all, my boys can each have their own room so no fighting!

Dani, when I called the bakery hotline they said they don't do more than three months out, BUT I would try to call the hotel that your restaurant is at directly, or get the ## from the hotline, and call. I went ahead and called the Contemporary and am in the works with the head baker to make a small Madhatter cake w/Jack Skellington on it for my DH :)

O also, I don't know if you've seen it, but there's that whole thread somewhere around here w pics........

So, I think I have adjusted our itinerary. Please offer your advice, comments, and/or tips!

Day 1 - (W Sept. 7) - Arrival Day / Magic Kingdom in the evening with dinner at Chef Mickey's. We'll be seeing Wishes on our first night, too.

Day 2 - (Th 8) - Animal Kingdom Lodge with lunch at Flame Tree Barbecue. We'll be spending the evening checking out the Animal Kingdom Lodge with dinner at Boma.

Day 3 - (F 9) - Magic Kingdom with lunch at Pecos Bill. We'll have dinner at Cape May Cafe with spending a little time on The Boardwalk.

Day 4 - (Sa 10) - Magic Kingdom with lunch at Cosmic Rays. We'll be spending the evening in Epcot with dinner at Les Chefs de France and seeing IllumiNations.

Day 5 - (Su 11) -
Rest Day with lunch at Everything Pop. We'll be spending the evening in Downtown Disney with dinner at Raglan Road.

Day 6 - (M 12) -
Epcot with lunch {hopefully!} at Le Cellier. We'll be spending the evening in Magic Kingdom with dinner at Main Street Bakery. We'll be sing the Main Street Electrical Parade and Wishes this night.

Day 7 - (Tu 13) - Hollywood Studios with lunch at Starring Rolls. We'll be spending our last evening in Magic Kingdom {I think} with dinner at Ohana.

Day 8 - (W 14) - Departure Day :headache: I have no idea what time our plane leaves. If its later then we'll be skipping MK the night before and doing MK this morning. If our plane is too early then we'll be doing MK the night before.

It looks good. Wednesday is a good night to see Wishes. When you make your ADRs make sure you make LeCellier and Ohana first since they are the most difficult on your list to get. For my family I know this would be doable!

I think this is a wonderful idea. I'm sure they will really appreciate it.

No, you don't have to call me Penelope or Mildred. :rotfl: You can call me Mandy. I noticed you changed your signature awhile ago.

Okay, I will call you Mandy. I was hoping to get to use an alias though!

My mom just makes it difficult because she has such simple taste lol. She's nothing like me! I think if she knew that GF was the most expensive resort on property she would change her tune about wanting to stay there, which is why I haven't said a word about it!

I had ordered a cake for DS 2 years ago, but it came from the Boardwalk Bakery and I wasn't really that pleased with it. I had ordered a Mickey cake, and it was NOTHING like what was in the pictures on the thread! That's why I'm REALLY happy we're staying at the GF because even if I don't have it served to them at dinner, I can have it brought to the room for them. Everything I've seen from the GF bakery looks simply amazing.
Is the cake you're ordering the sort of topsy turvy Mad Hatter cake? I saw that and fell in love! :lovestruc

yeap thats the one!! I ordered what was basically a Zebra Dome in cake form last time (we stayed at AKL) OMG it was AMAZING!!!! Some of the cakes they have are 'premade' which is kinda misleading b/c its a standard cake :( so I had to make sure mine wasnt LOL

I need to post my 'list ' soon.......THREE MORE DAYS!!!

OMG! Can you leave a piece for me at bell services?! :lmao:

I was SO excited when I had ordered mine because I had read that Boardwalk Bakery made the best Mickey head cakes, and planned our reservation around it. When I saw it I was so disappointed. It was nowhere near as high as the others were and just left much to be desired. I can't wait to work with the GF. I think I may order a cake just for me! :rotfl:

I can't wait to see what the CR baker has for me! I REALLY want the cake to be fantastic for my DH, b/c he'll have been gone for almost 8 mos by the time we get down there and most of it under water. And I found out on our last trip he's been a Disney closet fanatic for YEARS and LOVES Jack, so in my head I'm going 'SCORE! Cake Idea for next time!!' LOL The baker said the small one starts on an 8 inch base so I'm crazy excited to see it or even sketches!!!

Where can I get more information about special cakes and price lists? We're celebrating our boys' birthdays and our 5th anniversary, so I was wondering.

You can drop some days off your tickets to save some $$ since it looks like you have an AKL day and a DTD day. :thumbsup2

Thanks. I am so nervous about staying off site, like I am going to lose some magic. But I really like being able to cook and do laundry and have some space FOR LESS $$ so I am going to give it a try. I love hearing good reviews!! :cool1:

Just posted on the other thread, and then saw that you guys had moved on! We'll be there 9/25-930 at Pop! Can't wait! First trip for my brother and his family, and first one in a long time for my parents! I can hardly wait to see them experience the magic!!

Ha! I meant to write Animal Kingdom on our 2nd day during the day and not AKL. You see what I have on my mind, eh? :lmao:

:welcome: Welcome! I have you added to the first post! :cheer2: We're glad to have you here!

So we cancelled our reservation and rented some DVC points to save some $ so our reservation is now from the 19th to the 26th instead of the 23-30, but we are still going.

Awesome on saving some $ and getting to go earlier! I have you changed on the first post. :)

If no one else posts it, I'll post a link when I get home. It's called the cake chatter thread ;)

We will be going to MNSSHP on Tuesday the 20th! I can't wait! We've gone twice now and loved it both times. Of course, I can't get DH to dress up no matter how much I pay him. Last year, I just threw on some black ears and a tail and was a "cat".

We're going to MNSSHP on 9/20 also! My DH got a Jack Skellington t-shirt to wear for the party and that will be the extent of his costume. I don't know what I'll do yet or what DD will do. I really don't want her to be overly warm! :headache: I suppose I have about 6 months to figure it out though! ;)
