I'm sure there are people in MK who do this, couldn't tell you where though. First hand knowledge, I know that there's an artist located in the Polynesian lobby who does caricatures. :)

At the poly could be good because we are going to be going there several times for dinner. Do happen to know if he is only there certain times? Or how long it takes? Cost?

I would give them a call just to be sure of times and to find out if he's still there. Last Sept., when we were in the lobby having a toasty libation (or two) to end the day, he happened to be there each time. (Can't recall the prices as I didn't have any drawings done.)

Though... I keep eyeing POR now :rotfl: It just looks so beautiful! Love all the green, the trees, the river, a river boat ride to DTD & back... how do I convince myself to upgrade *this* time?? :lmao:

I know, I love the look of the mansions at POR! I was originally booked at POR until I realized they will be under refurb in September. Since we wouldn't be guaranteed a refurbished room, we switched to POFQ, which will be done with the refurb by then. I guess POR will have to wait until another year for us!

I have honestly booked POP once and intended on it another time and have either gotten the elusive 40% discount code or been upgraded (in 2009 they way over booked the values and gave free upgrades to Saratoga Springs and Old Key West). The lushness of POR has totally been calling to me!
ThereYouSeeHer-if you check out portorleans.org you'll see that the refurb will be done completely for POFQ by Easter, and they estimate starting at the beginning of May at POR! Should take 3 weeks a building, and that they are starting with the mansions! So they should be done with at least three of them by Sept! Can't wait! I originally wanted to stay in Alligator Bayou but we're gonna try for a refurbed room, and requested the Mansion section! WOOHOO!!

I also got my ADR's figured out and our schedule. Upgraded our tickets to park hoppers with waterpark and more. Trying a lot of new places!
Old Fave Adrs:Ohana, Coral Reef
New Adrs: La Hacienda, Wilderness Canyon Cafe, Kouzinna, Chefs de France, Big River Grill & Brewing Co., Cape May Cafe

Sat.Sept 17- Check in 12:30-1 head to MK then Epcot & La Hacienda\
Sun.Sept 18-MK Wilderness Canyon Cafe
Mon.Sept 19-DHS, Kouzinna
Tues.Sept 20-Waterpark, Big River Grill, Cape May, MNSSHP
Wed.Sept 21-AK Chefs De France
Thur Sept 22-Waterpark,Ohana, DHS
Fri Sept 23-*Boyfriends bday* Epcot, Coral Reef
Sat Sept 24-MK and departure

What do you think? my biggest problems are Tues Sept 20th and Thur 22nd...

Two Princesses and one Knight booked for BBB :) the Morning we have Lunch at Akerhaus too!!

I am not sure what my oldest wants to do, but I thought that if she REALLY wants to be a Pirate, instead of taking up more time by doing the Pirate League we could get a Pirate outfit and she could just get her hair and Pixie dust done at BBB.

Does that sound bad?

This is my over all plan:

Sept6
arrive
7:30 ADR at Chef Mickeys

Sept7
*RD at AK, do EE, Nemo and Lion King, probably Kali and a Safari too....

*1pm ADR at Hollywood and Dine w Manny n Oso
Tour HS till they close (I'm hoping it won't KILL the kids if we don't make TSM)

Sept 8
*8am ADR for CP (may run and get space Mtn FP while kids are eating)
Tour MK

Sept9
Go back to AK or HS if we missed a 'must do'
Hit Epcot as SOON as we've done our Must dos
*6:30 ADR at Garden Grill
stay till close

Sept 10
*10 AM BBB ressie for two princesses and a knight
*1:10 ADR at Akerhaus
stay till close
Sept 11
check out :( :( :( :(
*10am ADR at O'hana
go to DTD and putz around for a bit before we shove off.....

does this sound crazy or doable??

That's good to know about the photopass photographers being out and about before park opens. I'm planning an 8:05 breakfast at CP, mainly to be deep in the park:goodvibes when it opens. DD is so excited about meeting Pooh!

Thanks! Yes, I have been keeping my eye on that website. I guess I'm concerned that if alot of people request rooms that are already refurbished, it may lower my chance of getting a refurbished room as well. I just didn't want to chance it for this trip, but someday!!

I am getting so excited!! I make ADRs next Tuesday morning. My plan is ready..now just to cross my fingers and hope there are no issues.:cool1::cool1:

Love your adr's. Mine are going to be kid aprroved.

Yeah for you! I get to make my ADR's on the 29th and I'm so nervous about it. Never done it before, so I don't know how it works...should I call...should I do it online...so many choices...! lol

I am the only veg in my family, this trip will just be my husband and I though and he is a serious carnivore. I wasn't sure if Ohana would be too much food for the two of us, especially if I am only eating the noodles and veggies. :confused3 But man I am a sucker for some good noodles!

Another vegetarian weighing in: I'm going with my carnivorous boyfriend, and was really tempted to try Ohana. However, we decided that it would be waaaay too much food for two people, and there were plenty of TS places to eat that had better veg options. Just my two cents! :teeth:

By the way, I found this review of Ohana helpful:

I did all of mine online last year, mind you it wasn't a whole bunch. I'm afraid of too much commitment. The online thing worked quite well. I'll be doing it again when it's time to book my ADRs for the first part of our trip.

I did all of ours online this time, it worked GREAT b/c I could see everything myself and decide for myself in my own time based on the info I had in front of me (park hours, must dos things like that )

Anyone of our September travelers done the Wishes Dessert Party? I'm thinking of doing this so me and dd have a good view of the fireworks and I hear Tinkerbell flys right over. I'm thinkin it's probably just standing room? or do they have sitting? If anyone knows I would appreciate it.

Also, I just realized this time last year I was in WDW....aw, hurry up Sept. it's been too long already!

How much is it to do the cruise? I don't see the pricing listed online.

We used allears.net to get an idea of price. They have it listed as starting at $346.14 and then we would probably have added food and that cost isn't listed at all.

I would love to do it sometime, but I think we have enough going on with this trip that it would just be too much "stuff".

Also, I just logged onto the Disney site and it says 193 days until my vacation, but it has the reminder that I can made ADRs on March 20th. I guess the countdown is a little off.....by 10 days?

:rotfl:

hmmmm are you going on points?? I swear I remeber reading somewhere that either AP or DVC can make thier ressies 180+10...... .

So excited my hubby and I are planning a solo trip for our 10th Wedding Anniversary!!!! We just booked today on a bounceback for 9/6~9/11
We left POR this morning and when we got home we booked all our ADRs. :goodvibes

As much as I want to talk myself into POR this year, I don't think it will be happening. Too bad POR won't have the queen beds by September. I'd hav to pay $690 to upgrade to a king-bed (wanting alligator bayou!). And that's after taking into consideration of no longer paying for a fridge & dining plan upgrade at POP. Plus, there's just too many mornings we want a hot breakfast before 7am. Ah well... Now I'm torn between AoA and POR when we go back with the kids!

I *really* want to stay at CSR. Do you know if they have nice water play areas for the kids? ie spray jets or zero-ish entry kid's pools? My young girls prefer those over big pools.

ETA: Just found this on WDWINFO

http://www.wdwinfo.com/Photos/Pools-Coronado/pages/DSC07137.htm

Very cute. And my girls would love the sand play areas. Uh oh, now I'm hankering to switch. Gotta go crunch numbers ...

Don't forget when you crunch numbers, you'll get a fridge for free. And if you booked FD by Dec 20th *and* are paying to upgrade to DDP at POP - you'll get the DDP at mods without paying the upgrade.

I think the 20th & 22nd look fine.

We did BB before MNSSHP last year. The only thing I regret is not having a nice TS meal before we went and just shown up a bit later. I wanted to grab a QS meal in MK that night but had no idea so many QS places closed early for MNSSHP! Plus I think the kids would have been happier having sat down for a proper meal before the halloween party!

Are you seeing Fantasmic on the 22nd? That's the night we're aiming for.

Ohh, I have a link to a great posting about the Dessert Party. Someone took the time to write out the whole event. The only problem I have is not being able to see the parade very well. So now I'm trying to plan 3 nights at MK. 1 for the parade, 1 for the dessert party, and MNSSHP. Here! Post #5

My dd sent me a ringtone this morning from www.myxer.com, she downloads a lot of ringtones free from this site. And the one she sent me is the Good Morning song from MK opening and it is soooooooo stuck in my head now! I'm going to make it my alarm tone so I can hear it everyday till Disney day lol. Here it is (I hope) so I can share the cheeriness! :rotfl:

Hi Everyone! I need to be taken off the September list!!! My son is having some trouble in school, so we decided he should not miss class to go to WDW. We moved our trip to the end of August, so I'll have to go join that thread!! This will be our first time going during the summer. I hope everyone has a great trip in September!!
