September 2011 - The Planning Continues! (2nd Thread)

Really?! :worship: Can I get their names on the backs too? That would be awesome, but then again.... maybe not as magical. haha Am I over thinking this too much?! :rotfl:

You can still get their names on them if you buy it elsewhere. We did that last year! My husband bought the girls their ears in the gift shop while I was unpacking, and I was a little bummed I missed it. Kinda silly I know- I just wanted to be there for the moment.

So we took them to the shop in Magic Kingdom, and they put their names on it...so I got to enjoy that moment. :cloud9:

way to go on the weight loss - its a hard battle - DH & I have been working hard on that too... I am down 45lbs since April and he is down almost 30 since June... such a great feeling and know it will make a difference in the parks and all the walking....
:thumbsup2 way to go on the weight loss. :woohoo:that's awesome. You must feel great.
DH and I have been out walking our dogs every night for the past few weeks. I'm a letter carrier so its not so much for me but for him. No pounds have fallen from him yet, but the goal was just to be prepared for walking the parks.
The pictures and the stories touched my heart. Like everyone else I'm looking forward to seeing the castle. It always takes my breath away.

whole lot of shakin going on here in charlotte, nc. I was sitting inthe recliner watching a movie with the girls felt my chair move thought it was the cat behind me scratching at the chair. then it stopped and then started again much strong and lasted longer looked over at the lamp saw the lamp swaying blinds were moving and bookshelf to the right of me moving. I was thinking this has gotta me an earthquake. Went outside asked my neighbor who didn't feel a thing but they were doing a whole bunch of stuff outside got on facebook then all my friends were talking about how they felt it all the way up to new york. Unbelievable. I've been in an earthquake before in New york but nothing compared to this magnitude.

anyhow picked up our AAA disney pack today with the resort confirmation and voucher tickets. called to reserve seating for the wishes fireworks.

Then when my husband got home he came home with a giant package in his hand. Our 10th anniversary is on thursday and it was a giant collage of various photographs throughout the years framed and with a gold plate on it with our names first 10 years 2001-2011.

so today has been a wacky crazy unbelievable day.

 Ticker checker

Sorry to hear about the earthquake. I can't imagine what most people thought. :lmao: sorry we have just been through too many here in California not to chuckle a little at all of the evacuations hundreds of miles away. I've always said I would rather have earthquakes over tornadoes or hurricanes any day. Though getting a reverse 911 call this year to be evacuated for the tsunami was a little scary (we are a few blocks from the ocean). Still I will take the west coast natural disasters.

All of you in Irene's path are in our prayers. :grouphug:

So, I too had a tire blow out.... BLAH!!! I was on my way to get the kids from school and boom, clunk clunk clunk..... Luckily I was in the school zone so I was going slow. NOT what I wanted to deal with!!;)

Of course I had to take money from the Disney-fund to get a new tire, and what really stinks is I just had them put on less than 6 months ago!!!:headache:

BTW I must say I loved the pics of the kids! Mine are older and I miss seeing those smiles and the happiness that radiates from the little ones!

I gotta say congrats to the loss of 70. I am trying to gain stamina for my trip by mall walking everyday. I am feeling so much better these past two months then I have in the past year and a half. I guess this trip gave me motivation and a goal to look forward to.

It probably seems silly to you since it's a "norm" but buildings in those areas aren't rated for earthquakes which is WHY they had to be evacuated.

Kinda like how we get feet and feet of snow every year where I live, so we may think it is slightly humorous when a southern state gets a slight snow flurry and has to close down the roads. But they don't have plows, salt, sand, etc. to take care of the snow.

I know you are just saying it struck you as funny, but I thought I'd share another perspective. ;)

Oh no!!! That is awful! I'm glad you were able to slow down though, and that you didn't get hurt or anything.

Oh no! I'm glad you are all safe! With only having the tires for 6 months, they should have a warranty. Hopefully no one else in our group has something like this happen.

I know if we got any snow around my neck of woods (east central FL, between Port Canaveral and Vero resort) we wouldn't know what to do with ourselves, but we got the hurricane preparedness down.

Sorry I meant what was funny was just the thought of going outside the buildings to the street would be safer. The building will still fall on you, I'll take the well built 100 year old wooden desk to hide under over our flimsy ikea furniture. Unless you are in a field you are never safe from the earthquakes rathe. And our buildings all fell in '89 so it is really just since then that they have been built to withstand it. I didn't mean to offend anyone just that what natural disasters you guys go through is nothing compared to a little quake.

And as far as snow and rain, it shuts roads down usually 'cause people don't know how to drive in it. Not for lack of plow. The firsts of the season still shock everyone like they forgot how to drive in it when it has been less then a year. Shuts the roads down just from the accidents.

In 2 weeks from right now I will be on a plane trying to hold back my excitement and also trying to entertain a 2 and 4 year old on my way to DISNEY WORLD!!! :cheer2:

How sweet :lovestruc

LHarper - wow 2 weeks is so close! It is finally getting here!!

Looks like irene is going to brush on by so we probably will only get a slight breeze in charlotte which i'm thankful for. Now my house in raleigh they'll probably get alot of rain and wind so hopefully the worse thing that might happen to my tenants is maybe losing electricity. I actually would prefer a blizzard or any of the natural disasters as long as I have eggs milk and bread. (we call it french toast day down here in the south). You don't go anywhere except maybe sledding. watch a movie sip hot cocoa and have nice yummy chicken noodle soup.

Well 3 days left.

This thread moves so fast. Especially beacuse I have been so busy. For whatever reason I feel my house needs to be super clean before we go. I'm doing my laundry today so I should be packed by tonight. I'm going to wash the kitchen floor today and I cleaned one of the 2 bathrooms this am. Did a deep scrub in the kitchen this am. Looks liek the hurricane won't be much of a problem.

I also need to look into a stay, park and fly hotel for the night. Dh is insisting that he dont' want to leave the house at 230 am. I sort of don't blame him. So right now it looks like they are all comparable at 150.00 a night that is for the marriott.

ShhhQ - :thumbsup2 Great picture!

Sparks :worship: 70 pounds? You're amazing! :flower3:

Thank you :)

and congrats on your weight loss as well JewelsG. It's quite an accomplishment. Hubby did it with me too and he lost almost 40 lbs I think. He's at his goal already lol I still have a bit of a ways to go. I want to try to lose about 30 more still but I know the weight I've already lost is going to make a HUGE difference in this trip to the World.

This thread HAS gone really fast in the last few days! Everyone's getting excited, so we have sprung to life again! :woohoo: KELLY, you guys are so close, that's super exciting!
Sorry about the tire, Jana, that stinks! It really does seem like when it rains it pours, doesn't it? I'm ready for a little proverbial (not literal, we've got tons of that) sun!
I'm still waiting on Mickey mail, and I wish it would hurry up! But, I'm super excited that my ticker says one month, and I am ready to get going. I'm ready for a few consecutive days off!
The pics of the precious moments are so sweet! I huess we're not going to get that cute look, considering my baby daughter is 11, but I'll take it anyway. I'm going to be the one sobbing.

I am not as proud of this one as I was yesterdays (maybe cause I'm not a big Stitch fan), but I do think it is good....

Today's Countdown!

I love it!!! Great job!

To all who are in the path of or feeling the effects of Irene, I said a little prayer for you. Hope all goes well with all of you!

Everyones pictures are so precious! We have only cuties on this thread! Thanks for sharing.:flower3:

Sparks: Good for you! I know that takes a lot of work (I need to do it) so congrats on the weight loss and have a lighter than air time at WDW!:good vibes

OK, so we just got our DME today! :goodvibesSo should I be expecting anything else...:confused3I'm too excited to remember.

Or do I just show up at the airport in 32 days!:cloud9:

If you bought a package with resort/tickets etc. you'll get vouchers for all the stuff that comes with the package and luggage tags. That usually comes about 25 days out. Yay for Mickey Mail!:cool1:

That is such a great idea to walk to get prepared for Disney. I try to walk every day anyway but have been hampered by physical issues lately. It's also good to get the little ones out walking, even though they'll be in strollers, many of them will want to get out and walk at times.

In 2 weeks from right now I will be on a plane trying to hold back my excitement and also trying to entertain a 2 and 4 year old on my way to DISNEY WORLD!!! :cheer2:

And when you think how long you've been planning your trip, it seems almost unreal, doesn't it? I know it does for me. I wish I could see all of you first timers when you arrive. It is just pure MAGIC! When they play the video on the ME bus I know I've arrived and start getting choked up and deliriously excited.

Then when my husband got home he came home with a giant package in his hand. Our 10th anniversary is on thursday and it was a giant collage of various photographs throughout the years framed and with a gold plate on it with our names first 10 years 2001-2011.

Are you kidding? It's awesome!:thumbsup2 And I would definitely change my ticker...you have to see the numbers getting smaller!! You must!:goodvibes
