September 2011 - The Planning Continues! (2nd Thread)

Yay! We got into MK bbb! We are going to:cool1: do it before our dinner at akershush instead of before mnsshp. Everything is truly done as far as planning. Kind of sad in a way. Dh wonders what I will do with myself once I get home. I say duh plan our return trip!

So excited for you!! Both of my girls are doing PL this year and I think I'm just as excited. I was able to get them both the same time for there appointment which I guess is hard. They only book 2 chairs for each time slot at PL. So I was excited to get them at the same time.

So going along with all the Pirate talk pirate: turns out we are going as pirates to MNSSHP! I am "Making" our costumes! I put "making" in "" because I am basically buying pieces to put together to look like a pirate!

I finished with DD's tonight, I had the cutest black and white striped top with a black vest already attached to it, and I got her a light pink tutu with little black capri leggings and a light pink hat I am putting a mickey pirate iron-on on! (if that at all makes sense :rotfl2:)

I finished mine also, I already had a pair of black gouchos and I found a white cute eyelet top with shoulder sleeves lace-up chest (i plan on wearing a white tank underneath) and a black vest type thing to go over it. I have a pink black and white pirate bandana already so I'm set!:thumbsup2 The best part my whole outfit cost $14, Maurices had clearence tops for $6.95 and both the vest and shirt i found there!:cool1:

Dh's costume I have no stinking idea :confused3

I think we will do PL next time we go. It looks like its a lot of fun! We are extremely excited now. Almost jumping for joy excited. DD is so shy I hope she enjoys bbb and maybe it will bring her out of her shell some. Fingers crossed that she will love the attention instead of crawling into her turtle shell!
:dance3: 3 is our magic number!

My DD (only 2) decided tonight that she is going to be Tinkerbell for Halloween. That is nice so now I don't have to figure out what to make or buy her for MNSSHP since this trip is a surprise. Now to get my DS to drop some hints.

basketkat: You make some of the cutest things! I reallllllllyyyyyyy neeeeeed a Cricut! I drool over them all the time, but I just can't make myself spend the money on it.

Cydsmom: Congrats on BBB! I'm sure your lil one will have a blast.

Pinkle: Disney Apps, so funny guess what I was doing today.....loading Disney Apps! lol. I loaded the Undercover Tourist one (it has menus!) The WDW Maps one because I couldn't access the maps on Undercover Tourist for some reason...and another one called Ride Counter (that way I can keep track of how many times I ride Rockin Roller Coaster, etc. lol.) In all I now have 8 Disney Apps....can you say obsessed.

dizziedupbaby0127: Yeah to Pirates!

Lot's of Birthday Celebrations, us too. I am so excited I'm going to be in Magic Kingdom on my birthday, what could possibly ever top that? :cloud9:

We did the afternoon tea last year for the first time and LOVED it so much that we are going back. This year we are doing it royal wedding style with big, fancy hats, gloves and sundresses. They have a nice selection of herbal teas which are our preferred drinks.

I'm very excited about the Tea and I know my girls are going to love it too! DH was like "tea, really....?" :lmao:I think he'll enjoy it more than he thinks he will though. I love that you are getting fancy for it! I bet that will make for some great memories and pics!

That's awesome! Congrats on the ressie!:woohoo: BBB is great fun and we have some precious pictures of both my daughters doing it! We're super excited to be trying PL this year, something different. Plus, DH and I are huge POTC fans so I think it's going to be lots of fun!

We have lots of things we're doing for the first time this year, just off the top of my head:

Staying Deluxe at the BC
Pirate's League
Pick A Pearl
T-Rex
Cape May Character breakfast
Albatross Pirate Cruise (girls)
Afternoon Tea at the GF
Sandcastle Club for the girls so DH and I can check out Epcot alone for a couple hours
Beaches and Cream
Kim Possible

I know there's more but those are the main ones on my mind right now :)

We really debated on the Afternoon Tea at the GF, it looks so neat, but alas I guess that just means we have to go next time.......I will always find a reason to go back. :rolleyes1

Me too! This our 5th year in a row going and as you can see we still have a long list of things to do, LOL

There is definitely always a reason to go back, but that's part of the reason why we love WDW so much :cloud9: I'm so glad that we always have new things to look forward too! I try to explain that to all the people who say to us "You're going to Disney, again?!" Oh well, more room in Disney for me ;)

Well September friends...I was at a friends house today with my girls for a birthday party. I went to step off the deck and somehow rolled my ankle really bad. I heard a huge SNAP SNAP and was instantly brought to tears. I was really embarrassed, so I tried to quietly just go sit down....

As I went to step on it I was brought to my knees! :scared1: YIKES! So I got to a chair and iced it. After a few minutes my friend moved the ice to discover my ankle was the size of a softball! :scared1::scared1: My husband was on his way to work, so he had to turn around and come get me....

After a few hours and a few x-rays....it is a severe sprain. I said "phew it's not broken" and the doctor said "It may take up to SIX months to heal all the way!" WHAT?!?! Doesn't she know I have to walk around WDW in 55 days! :lmao: They put a fancy splint on it, and I am supposed to follow up with my regular doctor. His specialty is sports medicine....I'm hoping it will heal quickly!

But wait...it gets better...so we are driving home and we get a flat tire!!!! And my spare is stuck under my car, and there is no getting it out! Sigh......

So it's sitting there waiting for somewhere to open for us to get a tire tomorrow. Hopefully they don't tow it before then....:scared1:

What a day!!! Is it time for Disney yet????? :confused3:lmao:

Oh No! You poor thing! I had my breath held the entire time I was reading this. I broke my ankle in three places in June 2007; had to have pins and plates. I did it carrying a laundry basket down stairs. ( Laundry will kill you.) After I healed up we went to Disney in September. I was still sore and we took it easy with lots of sitting brakes. We even got a wheelchair one evening at EPCOT.

Just do what they say now so you can heal quickly and be ready for DISNEY. Sending you (((HUGS))).

What is everyone looking forward to buying on their trips as far as souvenirs? :woohoo:

I am looking forward to buying a Dated Christmas ornament, a new glass mouse ear ornament to add to our collection, and a MNSSHP t-shirt.

I also dwnloaded an app called mousewaits which tells me the nearest bathroom as well as food place i am closest to from where im standing. It also has all the menus on it.

Thanks this looks awesome :thumbsup2

Say, have we already discussed new things everyone plans to do this trip?

Umm Staring Rolls Cafe - YES please
Wishes Dessert Party
ADR's - since the only other time we had them was 6 yrs ago and a TA made them
Bailey's 1st Haircut at HBS
Hhhhhmmm most of my new things revolve around food. :rotfl2:

Seriously LOVE this! I just ordered the two Mickey cartridges off ebay last week; they should be here Monday or Tuesday..... can't wait!!!!:cheer2::yay:

Sorry to hear about the ankle. I hope it heals quickly.

My son has had rotten luck with his feet. One summer he broke 4 bones in his foot and ankle while doing Jr. Lifeguarding. Once he had healed more, the orthopedic surgeon told him not to take pain medicine BEFORE he was going to exercise, because he'd miss the warning pains to stop and take it easy. He told him to take the meds after exercise if he needed them.

I hope your car doesn't get towed!

We live in Florida and so many of our friends who have lived here all their lives have never been to Disney and don't understand our love for it. There is just so much to do at WDW it's hard to experience everything. We've been here 11 years and still haven't done everything. We get stuck on our favorites over and over again!

That's terrible!!!!! Do what they tell you know in hopes for a speedy recovery!!! Don't underestimate the power of the Disney magic :wizard:

Take it easy, basketkat, try not to overdo it! My oldest DD is having PT on her left ankle right now, so I know being slowed down by it is the pits. Just don't overdo it! :wizard:

Oh no!!! I am hoping for a super speedy recovery for you! :goodvibes

basketkat - hoping you have a speedy recovery

I love the autograph books. I wish I could make something that nice. I've been looking for something I can have the characters sign and then put a picture in beside it, but can't find anything under $20, and have to buy 3, so that's not going to happen.

It will be our first time in WDW. Our kids are 10 (girl), 5 (boy) and almost 3 (girl). What are the must sees for kids at those ages?

Poor basketkat, - don't be a hero, get a scooter if you need it. With only a month to go (did I say that?) to heal, you can't afford to cause additional damage and the severity of sprains is very underrated.

In my book, first time must see/do's for kids are the same for the adults:
Peter Pan, Splash Mountain 40", Castle fireworks, Jungle Cruise, Festival of the Lion King, Toy Story Mania, World Showcase, Soaring 40". All of which are family friendly with exception to height requirements listed.

Stick around and lots more ideas will come your way - this group likes to talk!
