September 2011 - The Planning Continues! (2nd Thread)

Steal away!!!! I cut the Mickey heads out first using chipboard to make it more sturdy! Well...not chipboard...a cereal box because I am cheap like that! ;)
My oldest got SO much attention last year that I HAD to make books again this year! It's after midnight here...which means one day closer!!!! :woohoo:

Did you hand cut it out using a piece of paper as a template or did you just cut the cereal box with a deep cut blade with your Cricut? I need to call Provo Craft about mine because neither of my Cricuts are working right. Using chipboard or a cereal box is such a great idea! I would also use non-textured cardstock for the pages inside since they are much sturdier than regular paper. I also love how you used glitter! I won't be using glitter though since it will be for boys and won't have the bow on the front. Maybe some day I'll get a girl! :scared1:

Shhq: Glad you got your ADR at Cape May I hope you enjoy it. We have a 1pm at Tony's on the 15th.....what are they doing there that night? Is it a MNSSHP or what? I haven't looked to see...

Not sure what they are doing that night.... its definately NOT MNSSHP as it closes an hour earlier than it does for those... but there has been no official word as to WHY they are closing.

As to things we are doing that we never done before....

Staying at a MOD... have only done values before.
Visiting US (on the 14th)
Hoop-Dee-Doo
Kim Possible mission at Epcot
New restaurants (at least for us)
Boatwrights
Cape May

So...are you guys tired of seeing things I've made yet??? :confused3
Well...I hope not!!! :rotfl:

I made one of our autograph books tonight (I want the girls to each have their own) and I was pretty happy with how it turned out!

I love how chatty everyone has been lately! We are all bubbling over with excitement!!!! :yay::yay::yay:

Love, love, love the autograph book!!

We have certainly been chatty lately! I'll be gone for the next few days as we have a mini vacation to the WI Dells as I said before. It was super cheap since we have to sit through a timeshare presentation--good luck, people! If the DVC couldn't get us no one can!

Have a happy week, ladies, and I'll catch up with you later! :grouphug:

Have a great time at WI Dells!

I finally talked Dh into bbb. I know lil dd is going to look just like a princess after her makeover! Calling tomorrow to reserve her spot at the MK location, hope I'm not too late.

I hope you can get a spot at MK!! Fingers crossed!

The challenge for us this trip is my new gluten free diet. I'm getting use to eating a whole different way. Disney has been great with information.:thumbsup2

Disney does a wonderful job with food allergies. My oldest boy is allergic to so many foods. Dining at Disney is one of the safest places to dine. They use a separate allergy kitchen in prep and cooking. The chef will come to your table before every meal and discuss your meal. Often we contact special diets in advance and the chefs will call us at home to discuss our options. Brenda at special diets has been a godsend to us over the years!!

Firsts for this trip:
6. apparently Starring Rolls, that display case got me excited!!

Someone on another thread suggested taking the Starring rolls food into the B&B show. I never would have thought of that.

Glad you liked the picture. That was taken at the end of the day, that case was relatively empty and only 1 of the cases, there was another whole area of cases! They also have sandwiches there.

We did Kim Possible for the first time in December. I loved it! I was determined to get through all of the missions, but it was starting to drizzle cold rain and the family was getting restless with me dragging them all over Epcot. Once you do Kim Possible, you'll never look at some of Epcot's buildings the same way. Because now you know there is something hidden inside that one or a neat special effect inside another. We won't have time to do it again this trip, but I am determined to get through all of them another time!

We have lots of things we're doing for the first time this year, just off the top of my head:

Staying Deluxe at the BC
Pirate's League
Pick A Pearl
T-Rex
Cape May Character breakfast
Albatross Pirate Cruise (girls)
Afternoon Tea at the GF
Sandcastle Club for the girls so DH and I can check out Epcot alone for a couple hours
Beaches and Cream
Kim Possible

I know there's more but those are the main ones on my mind right now :)

Thank you!!!! I have a Cricut, so I used the Mickey Font cartridge! :thumbsup2

Have fun in the Dells!!!! :cool1:

My husband got me a Cricut for Mother's Day last year and I have yet to do a thing with it. :confused3. The kids just keep me going so much that I have yet to find a time to sit down and just work uninterrupted. Guess I should actually look at it one day soon.

What a sweetheart! I have heard and seen amazing things done with the Cricut. Basketkat is evidence of that. Such cute stuff!

They are! It is part of the Fantasyland expansion:

SWEET! I am also very excited about the mine coaster.

Afternoon Tea at the GF

We did the afternoon tea last year for the first time and LOVED it so much that we are going back. This year we are doing it royal wedding style with big, fancy hats, gloves and sundresses. They have a nice selection of herbal teas which are our preferred drinks.

I don't have a deep blade. I went ahead and cut the cereal box on the Cricut (set at 6 inches) and it *almost* cut it all the way through. Then I just went around it with my scissors. It gave a much smoother cut than if I were to trace and cut it out because I'm not the most steady cutter. :rotfl: Yes I used just plain white card stock for the inside pages....that you can get in a huge packet at Wal-Mart. :thumbsup2

You should for sure call about your Cricuts not working! What is going on with them? :confused3

LOL...yes all things are girly in my house. I'm not sure I would know what to do if I had a boy! ;) :lmao:

basketkat: I love how crafty you are! (Me, not so much ;) LOL)
Great job on the autograph books!

You are way too kind! Thank you! :flower3:

Aww how sweet is he? My husband works a really weird shift (and a lot of hours....ugh) and he is gone at night. So after the girls go to bed I "play" with crafting stuff to keep me from getting lonely.

One day you will have time for it, and I'm sure you will make amazing things! :thumbsup2

Aww thanks! It is such a fun tool! I helped a friend make a banner for a baby shower yesterday....it's always "chirping" away over here! :rotfl:

Yay! We got into MK bbb! We are going to:cool1: do it before our dinner at akershush instead of before mnsshp. Everything is truly done as far as planning. Kind of sad in a way. Dh wonders what I will do with myself once I get home. I say duh plan our return trip!

Hurray!!!! :thumbsup2

I'm so glad you guys still are getting to go! I think your family will have a great time and you can help rub some Disney addiction onto them. :cool1:
Awwww, thanks, me too! I'm getting ridiculously excited, my DH is the non-believer right now but I'll get him there!:lmao:

September 5th cant come soon enough!! Celebrating 2nd Wedding Anniversary @ our fave Wilderness Lodge Villas!!

Welcome Home!!

That is where we celebrated our second anniversary too! It was wonderful. We had our anniversarydinner at AP.

Start? You only have a month left - you should be done packing!

Well everything but my clothes have been done for some time. At least here on the boards y'all understand the obsession. :dance3:

I just keep moving it around trying to make more room. I usually can get by for a week with just a carry on but I now have a 1 1/2 year old to squeeze in so I'll have to go big. Hopefully my DH will have extra room in his luggage but I won't know that until the night before we leave (huge procrastinator)

Packed the snacks as soon as the Mickey mail came.
