September 2011 - The Planning Continues! (2nd Thread)

Disney added Fantasmic to September 2nd and 27th.

It is now showing every night. I was able to get a adr for 8/31 yesterday with no problems at mama melrose. It don't show up on the clander but if you manually enter the dates it does come up.

I'M PREGNANT! :)

I had my first ultrasound yesterday and found out that I'm a whopping 17weeks and 3 days pregnant. I had no idea! I've had almost zero symptoms and goodness knows I'm not showing at all. I've even lost weight! I was on the pill and it's one notoriously known for irregular periods and intermittent spotting so I didn't think anything of the craziness there.

It also looks like I'm having a girl. The tech said it was a little early to tell if it's a girl for sure, but with the lack of boy parts and some vague girl parts, she's pretty darn sure it's a girl. Everything is looking great!

I'm so THRILLED! :goodvibes

This does, however, put a wrench in our plans for Disney World. We're definitely still going to go unless something drastic happens between now and then. I'll be 25 weeks (I think) when we're down there. I think we'll now be skipping Animal Kingdom because, of the few things we do there, I can only do like one of them. Does anyone have any tips or tricks I should keep in mind?

That is fantastic news!:cloud9: Congratulations!!:cheer2:

Im going to WDW with 2 of my friends and my sister from September 25th-October 1st. We are staying at All-Star Sports Resort. I hope I spot some of my fellow disers =)

Congratulations, chinchiller! I agree with Michelle, baby girls are great (I've got two girls also, so of course I may be slightly biased!:rotfl:). Definitely take small breaks, try to keep cool and stay hydrated! It's worth a few less rollercoasters, definitely!

We paid off our trip last week, it's such an awesome feeling!

How does the online check in work? I clicked on it but nothing happened. I'm guessing you have to be closer to your travel dates?

Our plan is to surprise the kids (10,5, and 2) at the airport. They think we are planning a shopping trip somewhere. We're thinking about giving each of them a gift to open to give them a hint where we're going. Something disney related. Any ideas?

Congrats that is great news. Like PP's said just drink lots of water and take it slow.

Thank you! Can I leave a request there for a fridge, or should I call a few days before arrival?

I think the majority of people have it on their reservations before they do the online check in. There's a place to put in on your resrvations if you do it online originally. I would call and have it added to your room reservation. :cool1:

Hi Everyone - first post in this thread :) We're booked for a week Sept 15th at the Polynesian. I was checking prices for a friend (without using the specials tab) and noticed very limited availability for the middle and end of September - the only mod was the cabins and the only value was all star sports.

Is this an indicator of crowd levels? We went last year at this time and decided to brave the heat again to avoid huge crowds and were planning to go with minimal touring plans as we did last year (worked fine). Now I'm rethinking this and wondering if maybe I should plan for larger crowds.

Thanks!

I noticed that the other day, when I was just trolling the reservation systems!lol It looks to me like everything is booked solid. I'm hoping it doesn't mean the crowds are swelling to summer leveles in the fall. :scared1:

We are gonna be at POR as well... we arrive the day before you and leave the day before you.

That's awesome, are you requesting a specific section?? I'm trying to figure out what building they will be working on while we are there. Our only request is connecting rooms

Yay! I am hoping to see this while we are there for the first time.:cool1:

Congrats!!!!:cheer2: Definitely stay hydrated, wear GOOD walking shoes and take flip flops just incase of swelling.

Onsite should not be an overall indicator of crowd levels. Keep in mind free dining is being offered so that is going to cause onsite reservations to increase greatly. Also the Halloween Party and the Food and Wine Festival also increases onsite reservations. In our experience (we've gone at the end of August, and the first week of September over Labor Day weekend) that once school is back in session in the south crowds drop and then drop further after the Labor Day weekend when school is back in session in the rest of the country! Hopefully that eases your mind a bit!

Not sure if you've seen this tentative schedule:

Magnolia Bend, Acadian House: starts 26 June 2011, for approx. six weeks
Magnolia Bend, Magnolia Terrace: starts 31 July 2011, for approx. six weeks
Alligator Bayou, Lodges 36, 37, 38, 39: starts 25 October 2011, for approx. eight weeks
Magnolia Bend, Oak Manor: starts 15 January 2012, for approx. five weeks [Royal Themed Rooms]
Magnolia Bend, Parterre Place: starts 19 February 2012, for approx. five weeks [Royal Themed Rooms]
Alligator Bayou, Lodges 24, 16, 17, 28: starts 3 April 2012, for approx. eight weeks
Alligator Bayou, Lodges 14, 27, 18, 15: starts 8 May 2012, for approx. seven weeks
Alligator Bayou, Lodges 25, 35, 26, 34: starts 5 June 2012, for approx. eight weeks

It looks like they should be done with Acadian House and Magnolia Terrace by the time of your trip and no other work appears to be scheduled during the month of September.

:welcome: to the thread! I have both of you added to the first post! :woohoo:

Thanks, L-harper!!!

SillyLily – That was my first response but then it occurred to me what smile4me posted – hopefully people who might normally come this time of year and stay off site are booking onsite to take advantage of free dining. We went the same time last year and the crowds were really wonderful which will be huge since my toddler isn’t going to be too fond of lines for long, hence the September trip while we still can! And we love MNSSHP :D

And thanks for your reply, Smile4me – very reassuring!!

We’re getting super excited here :D I need to get our actual plans in motion, make autograph books, start lists, etc. September can’t come soon enough!!! We’ve been planning this trip since our last (booked from our room at POR last year ;)) so I’ve had the basics down, now time to figure out all the odds and ends!

we requested Alligator Bayou. I fell in love with the rustic look
