September 2011 - The Planning Continues! (2nd Thread)

Well ladies, we are cancelling our trip. With my mom's health, issues with our daughter's schooling, and (sad to say) past year's behaviour issues with our kids - we just are not going. :sad1:

So, L-Harper, if you could please - remove us from the September list. Thank you.

I hope everyone has a wonderful trip!!! :wizard:

AND, I will have a BUNCH of ADRs to cancel in the upcoming week or so. They include 3 different Ohana's, 2-1900 Park Avenue, a Garden Grill, CP breakfast, etc.

Yes, multiple reservations. Please - no flames. I've been stressed out enough these past few months. I *know* it's bad form but I was really really hoping for a minor miracle that we would still be able to make our kid-free trip. But I also had to be prepared to have 4 of us instead of 2...

In any case, I thought I would offer up the ADRs to those of you here before posting them on the September cancellation thread first. I will post them this week. Ohh, our original trip dates were Sept 19 - 28th. LOL - it just occured to me that everyone here is most likely already reading the Sept ADR cancellation thread anyways!

At least the good news is that my husband agreed to have our front living room bow window replaced since our trip is being cancelled. :)
It's still the original wood frame from 30 years ago. No screens! Ugh.
Sorry to see you go! Although I'm sure foregoing the trip will give you some nice time to focus on your family. Best wishes!

That is sooooo strange!! I'm a chapstick addict and have it in my pocket 24/7!! We were at Six Flags Great America last July and it wasn't a problem. They would've had to wrestle me for it if they wanted me to give it up though! :lmao: I also took spray sunscreen and the sunscreen face stick. I believe we also took a couple bottled waters as well. You must've had a security person who was having a bad day!!
Or a security guard who was in desperate need of used chapstick! :rotfl:

Hi again! Yes, I've been MIA for a while:eek: I'm still working on my park planning and the more I think about it the more confused I get. It's all about the hopping! I can't figure out what parks to hop to on what days and I'm still juggling with meals (I have all ADR'S and a few extra just in case I change my mind....again)
We are definitely taking the Auto train to florida, our train leaves at 4 p.m. on the 24th and we'll arrive in florida around 9 a.m on the 25th. I'm a little nervous still about the train (motion sickness and whether we'll get enough rest on it). I know what parks we'll start at on each day ( planning around the ADR'S) I just don't know what to do with our evenings.
Here are my park days and maybe some of you planning pros can help:
Sunday: arrive, don't know what we'll do today
Monday: Epcot
Tuesday: MK (MNSSHP evening)
Wednesday: off day
Thursday:AK
Friday: DHS

We do have 5 day parkhoppers, so either Sunday or Wednesday we will hit a park.

Im sorry you had to cancel... hope all goes well!

Mom2Cody06: We went 2 years ago opening night and it wasnt crowded at all! It was earlier too, September 5(my sons actual bday)-before Nite of Joy was hosted at Magic Kingdom
I didnt mean to bust into your planning LOL, just as a Floridian I know we go up on the weekend for MNSSHP, as does everyone else here. If I had the choice I'd go during the week. :goodvibes but work calls....:surfweb:
We are going to Whispering Canyon our first night too!! I've never been but I heard its not to be missed (and yet somehow we missed it):confused3
We are going to restaurants this trip we've NEVER done. WE booked:
9/6 Whispering Canyon
9/7 Boma
9/8 Spirit of Aloha
9/9 Rose and Crown
9/10 'Ohana
9/11 Cape may Cafe Clam Bake
I hope we did good. LOL. I'm not sold on Boma, but we're going to Typhoon Lagoon that day and will most likely just wanna eat at the hotel and crash early.

I welcome any advice I can get, some I take & some I don't.....but it never hurts to listen. I do think I'd rather do it Tuesday which was my original intention....But we'll have to see what Mom wants to do since she's paying....lol.

You will love Ohana, I know we did...and I can't wait to take DH there since we wasn't with us on the trip in 2008

The boys and I went to AC Moore this weekend and got shirts and Tye Dye ingrediants, I am going to attempt to make our own Mickey Mouse Tye Dye shirts...and DS4 wants me to try and make him an Incredibles one....not sure how that is going to come out but we're going to try it.....

We also hit up the Disney Store outlet after a trip on the Strasburg Railroad on Friday....we got flip flops ($2.99 each) and sunglasses ($1.99) each for the boys and I also got them each a water bottle and BabyK a few sippy cups for our trip. My Disney bag is getting fuller by the day...so excited, only 55 more days to go!!

Sorry to see you have to cancel, DaniB.:sad2: We've decided on the home repair route for next year as well, we have a couple of things that aren't going to wait much longer. No flames here, it's the thing I have enjoyed the most about this group! Hope to catch you next time!:grouphug:

Does anyone know if they have a rule against swim rings in the disney pools? Our 3 year old discovered that he could manuever himself around the deep water in a ring and he's so much easier to contain with one! It's a starfish shaped one and not very big...

She IS cute!:thumbsup2 Love the skulls, my oldest DD would rock it in a heartbeat!:woohoo: I like the Black Veil Brides bracelet, too, it's a nice touch!:rotfl: I was hoping to get some Disney stuff done since I am off today, but we're going to take Alyssa's electric violin to be strung and to get started on school supply shopping. :scared1: Does anyone else actually dread the kids going back to school like I do?:sad2:

Thank you, she has ripped stockings, etc picked out to go with, I'm so excited. :rolleyes1 She bought a fake lip ring yesterday and wants to know if that's piratey? argh.

I'm totally with you on dreading school to start back! It starts here on the 11th of August. I'm not ready!!! I have enjoyed sleeping in this summer. :cloud9:

I don't know the actual rules but I know the past two times we have been I have seen kids with blow up arm rings and other toys.

Right now, I am just hoping things turn around and I don't have to cancel ours!

I hope you don't have to cancel either!

I am so sorry that you've had to cancel your trip! :( You have been so helpful to me. I did take you off of our list. If you have any ADR's for the 7-16th, I would love to see what they are!

I was on hold with Disney to ask a question for myself when I came upon this while waiting I asked and was told: "People may bring floats and other pool toys to play with as long as they are not obnoxious to other patrons. Disney provides swim jackets for children free of charge at the resort pool area, but it is ok to bring your own rings, tubes and arm floats!" :thumbsup2

He had worked nights the night before and only slept a few hours, and since he went back to the car and was coming in by himself maybe he looked like a really tired creeper??? :rotfl: Who knows?!?! :confused3

He loves his chapstick too...I was like...why didn't you throw it away? We can get more for what $1.50????? Sheesh! Hahahahaha! :lmao:

We start the 16th...my daughter will be in first grade which means going all day. Ugh...

The only thing keeping me upbeat about school starting is knowing our trip will be right around the corner then...:thumbsup2

You are AWESOME! Thanks!

That actually saves me some space since I won't have to carry his swim jacket and the float ring takes up almost no space. I appreciate you asking for me!

Didn't I read that you are celebrating your 10th anniversary at Disney this September? My DH and I are as well.

Congrats to those adding days!!!

Right now, I am just hoping things turn around and I don't have to cancel ours!

I hope you don't have to cancel your trip! Sending pixie dust your way! :wizard:

So we are having a huge heat wave here, with the heat index temps are above 100 degrees and expected to climb higher later this week. Of course, this is the week DD has GS camp :scared1:

She managed today but they stay outside all day in the heat...no air conditioning anywhere at all, she was wiped out when we picked her up and a little dehydrated. We gave her 2 huge bottles of water but she only drank one and was complaining of a headache

Right now she's in the pool :) but I just hope the rest of the week goes well. I know that I couldn't manage all day in this heat being outside like she does!

So, with all the camps and DD turning 8 this Friday we are carzy busy so I haven't had much time for my daily Disney obsession  lol

Hope to be back on the Disney track soon!
