September 2011 - The Planning Continues! (2nd Thread)

For those of you who found your true loves at 17, that's impressive! Most of the young people I knew were not at all who they turned out to be as adults! And the ones who did marry, ended up divorced after 5 years or so.

I joke with DH and say to him "Wow, I still like you ;) " We met when I was 15, he was 17, but didn't get together until I was 18. We have had our ups and downs (pregnancy at 19 can really strain a relationship) but at 32 I am always grateful for the struggles that we had that brought us to this happiness :lovestruc

It is too hot to go outside right now so I think I am going to go do some more trip packing

Is everyone planning on using the online check in?
Yes, we will!

Before you arrive, they assign your room and put your folderwork together. It makes it quick and easy. This past December, when we arrived early, the CM instantly recognized my name because she had just put my folder together. Plus, you get to wait in a line that is designated for online check-ins only (which has had zero to little wait for us). It's just one more step to ensure a smooth check-in!

We leave in 43 days!! I have so much to do!!

WOW just got back rom 2 seperate vacations and I have about 10 pages to catch up on!

But now that those are over its 100% Disney planning now! Question to those who have toddlers, DD will be 18 months when we go. I don't think we will have time to do all 3 walking tours in AK (even tho we are planning 2 full mornings) I think the shows are more important for DD. So which tour should I cut and which one or ones should I keep?

Dh and I have done the pangani trail, but not the jungle trek, or rafaki's planet watch. Thanks!:)

Just found out that my best friend and her family will be going to disney for part of the time we are there! I am so excited though I think my enthusiasm for planning may have scared her :rotfl2: I was reading her off our itenerary and all I got in response was silence and then "wow that is really planned out" :rotfl2:

I have completely finished our first two days which will be MK and Epcot. About to work on the next day.

As far as finding love at 17, I agree. It isn't for everyone and speaking for my DH and I, we are only here by the grace of God :)

Just read that Mickey's Toontown Fair is closed. Does this mean all of the attractions in that area are closed too? I seem to remember there being a rollercoaster over there that was small enough for little ones to ride?

We haven't made it through the trail or trek yet with our kids. We started one time and realized it would be too long and too hot to attempt. I would totally vote for Rafiki's Planet Watch. I don't recall much walking, just hop the train, pet some animals outside, and see some stuff inside!

Oh we are right there with you! We were 16 and 18 when we met, and were married 2 years later. There were rough times (no money as I went through college, 2 horrible pregnancies with extreme hyper emisis), but we wouldn't trade those rough times for anything. They made who we are today. Our 9 year anniversary is on August 2nd!

Now...when I look at some 18 year olds there is NO WAY I would think they were ready to be married. But it worked for us, and a lot of others in our fabulous September group!!!! :thumbsup2

Yes, it's all closed, Mickey and Minnie's house, the rollercoaster (for now), everything. So sad. They are revamping the area. Here's more info:

We did online check in last year as well...I plan on using it again! I thought it was really nice! :thumbsup2 They even had a birthday button for my oldest daughter! :wizard:

Curious to see who all upgraded their dining plan. My girls are getting older so I wanted to be sure to get in to see all the characters before the "magic" wears off. We are ADRing to death this trip but wanted to make it worth it.

Boo on the rollercoaster being closed. I suppose we will still have plenty to do though

So glad to hear that your dad is okay, that's scary! I use Gildan Tshirts for tiedyeing and transfers, but they're heavyweight, so they don't breathe super well. Surprisingly enough, the 100% cotton Faded Glory tanks and Tshirts give me equal results, without the heavy material. You can pick up Gildan at Michaels, AC Moore or Hobby Lobby, the Faded Glory you can get at any WalMart!:thumbsup2

Thanks! My Dad is doing better each day.

Thanks for the info about the shirts.:thumbsup2 Sounds like you've had a lot of experience! I'll be near Michael's tomorrow, so I'll check them out. Can't wait to get them done. They're a surprise for DH and DS.:goodvibes

We upgraded last year. Stayed at All Star Movies, and wanted the regular dining plan. This year we decided to just go with a Moderate...but we LOVE the regular dining plan. Character meals are SO fun! :)

Hi again! Yes, I've been MIA for a while:eek: I'm still working on my park planning and the more I think about it the more confused I get. It's all about the hopping! I can't figure out what parks to hop to on what days and I'm still juggling with meals (I have all ADR'S and a few extra just in case I change my mind....again)
We are definitely taking the Auto train to florida, our train leaves at 4 p.m. on the 24th and we'll arrive in florida around 9 a.m on the 25th. I'm a little nervous still about the train (motion sickness and whether we'll get enough rest on it). I know what parks we'll start at on each day ( planning around the ADR'S) I just don't know what to do with our evenings.
Here are my park days and maybe some of you planning pros can help:
Sunday: arrive, don't know what we'll do today
Monday: Epcot
Tuesday: MK (MNSSHP evening)
Wednesday: off day
Thursday:AK
Friday: DHS

We do have 5 day parkhoppers, so either Sunday or Wednesday we will hit a park.

I think it's great you built in flexibility in your plan.:thumbsup2 If you get plenty of sleep on the train, I would go to a park that first day since you'll arrive so early. If you don't get a lot of sleep, I would make that day a pool day and maybe DTD, then use Wednesday as your extra park day.

I live in Ohio and had no clue about an auto train. Where do you catch it? Is it cheaper than airfare? Sounds interesting. Maybe I'll look into it for future trips.:goodvibes

We are staying at a value and upgraded to the regular dining plan. There were just SO many restaurants we wanted to try!

Please count us in and add us to the September list!

Going 9/3 to 9/5 at Ft Wilderness Campground with my mom and dad and then my BFF arrives on 9/5 and she and I will be staying at BWV until 9/10.

We will be 2 girls eating their way through the World on the DxDP! (DH is staying home with the 5 fur-kids!)

:welcome: to the thread! I have you added to the first post! :dance3: I would love what your plans are with that DxDP! popcorn::

For those that have found the personal spray fans at Walmart, what section did you find them in? I walked all over yesterday and couldn't find them, and of course no one that worked there knew where they might be either.

We found them in the outdoor section of our store in the same area where the lighting, plumbing and paint sections are. That was in May so they may have moved to fall season items by now.
