September 2011 - The Planning Continues! (2nd Thread)

I am so ready to get to the 100 day mark! Time seems to be going super fast, though, so it'll be here before we know it! I'm on my final long work week, so a regular 40 hour week will be a lot easier to complete my planning. I'm ready to get back in the saddle!

100 days tomorrow! I put up the 100-link countdown chain tonight and got a bunch of Mickey, Princess, star and "100" balloons to surprise my DD tomorrow for breakfast.

I love that! Great idea. Now to decide if I should do that for 100 days before we leave or 100 days before we arrive.

I can't believe we're here already! I have a lot of sewing to do! I'm just glad the trip itself is all (hopefully) perfectly planned as that's all I did this winter!

I am thinking of upgrading from the movies to the POR. I asked for the FQ originally on the phone but it wasn't available with the military discount. I got such an amazing deal though, I shouldn't switch...but...this will be our first time at a value and it's nagging at me.

I think you will have a lot of fun trying something new. I know some people think the theming is over the top at the values, but I love it!

Movies is the one we stayed at and the kids really liked it. I have been reading about the pool activities and am jealous we aren't staying there this time.

I agree try it. If you were going for a longer stay then I would probably switch if you weren't sure. But where you are just going for a few days it is great to try it once.

I found the perfect shirts for our arrival day and dinner at Chef Mickey's that night! I found them at Target and was so happy to find the perfect sizes for both of the boys. I'm trying to figure out if I should just trust that they won't get their shirts dirty on the way to WDW or if I should just put them on them on our way out of Pop to MK. Maybe I'll get them different shirts for the trip to WDW. Either way, I can't wait for them to put these shirts on!!!

I LOVE those shirts! I know what you mean about keeping them clean. As soon as you count on it, something gets spilled! Have fun at Chef Mickey's! It's getting closer!!

We will be going to WDW Sept 22 - 29. Staying at CBR. There will be 9 of us. Myself, DS, DD, DDIL, DGD9, DGD8, DGS7, DGD6 and DGD1 1/2. Whew, that was tough ! All of the ADR's have been made. I've made some open-ended plans for each day. We also have the DDP. Just one quick question. Does anybody know if there are any fish in the Lake ?

Wow! I'm so jealous! I would love to bring my grandchildren to WDW. One of my DDs doesn't really like Disney (where did I go wrong???) She has two and one on the way. My other DD took her 2 year old while her DH was home from Afghanistan and I wouldn't horn in on that for the world. Maybe when my two DSs have children, they'll let me take them to WDW. So nice of you. My parents are taking my oldest 5 on the disney dream in 6 weeks along with a 9 day stay at POFQ. They are also taking my neice.

We are at the 98 day mark

have you already told your children about the trip? If so, how did you tell them? I haven't told ours and I don't think we'll tell them until we're on the way to the airport. It's more of a self-preservation thing really - they will ask me how many more days at least several times a day for the next 98 days!!

99 days!!! Woo Hoo!!! My daughter made a count down calendar yesterday and first thing this morning she went and took the 100 off. She was so excited. Even my 2 year old is excited but he has no idea why.

Well good afternoon all. Home from work and found out my car warranty is expired so anything that needs done I now will have to pay for. I really hope there isn't anything like really costly. However I know that's an oxy-moron but here's to hoping. I have a few things I want looked at since I am planning a trip soon, just wanna be safe! I thought I would have money for WDW from my tips, dang I hope this season picks up!! Need some moo-lah!!!

We might do a countdown to the Beach vacation trip...haha that's what my kids think the trip in sept is. We had to tell them something since Disneydiva and I have been on the phone ALOT, planning, talking in code...LOL I can't wait for the surprise!!

I checked my queue and netflix is mailing out 101 dalmations tomorrow, just in time for a "101 Days to Disney" party! I actually have one of those small playsets from 101 I bought on clearance in October/November but didn't know who to give it too for christmas so I put it aside. They can be our cake decorations Now I just have to figure out dinner... Esme can help me decorate during naptime so the two bigger kids can be surprised.
Off to go check the disney theme night thread.

I checked my queue and netflix is mailing out 101 dalmations tomorrow, just in time for a "101 Days to Disney" party! I actually have one of those small playsets from 101 I bought on clearance in October/November but didn't know who to give it too for christmas so I put it aside. I'm sure many of you have seen this, but apparently, ticket prices are going up on Sunday. This is a departure from Disney's customary approach of increasing prices the first weekend of each August. I guess they will be trying to capitalize on summer travel.

I wonder if this means that if we modify our reservation after this weekend (even if the number of ticket days purchased stays the same), future package changes could be re-calculated with these new ticket prices? If so, make sure you are comfortable with your vacation plans now!

Bummer - I was hoping to get Esme's before the price goes up but this is not the week to buy her ticket. Oh well. I still cannot decide if I want to get her a 3 day or a 8 day NE so she would be at the same amount the rest of us are.... Oh well, I will just pay the extra $$

Hi Ladies, it's been a long time since I posted in this thread last. For the longest time I thought the slow loading issue was the 'boards as other webpages seemed ok. I knew I was having other computer issues but I didn't realize it was affecting my browsing DIS. So slow that it was too hard to keep up. Thankfully a month ago I was able to purchase a new hard drive and operating system. Whatever was wrong is gone now.

Harper, would you change our resort on the main page? Today I switched us over to POR. Still the same dates. I'm glad my TA was able to switch us under the original FD offer. Though I don't know if we will be going or cancelling now...

BTW, I love those shirts! Wish I could find stuff like that here.
