September 2011 - The Planning Continues! (2nd Thread)

Hey everyone. Sorry haven't been on in so long. No excuses :confused3
My son, Justin, will be graduating from High School this month :woohoo: we are so proud of him. He was diagnosed with autism at age 2, didn't start talking until age 7 and now he is graduating:cheer2: So trying to plan a graduation celebration that he will enjoy. (His main diet is pizza..so we are thinking a pizza party) still lots of planning to do. Then we can continue with our surprise Disney Trip planning:woohoo::woohoo:

Congrats to him. I'm sure a little bitterswweet for you. The day my kids leave I know I will be a wreck.

Has anyone or is anyone booking the desert party at the MK? The sight is down and I really really want to book this. :thumbsup2 My dh is a huge fireworks guy. So he will love this. I'm not sure if booking dates are available yet?

Southwest opened a late flight for my departure. It does not leave mco till 8:00 pm. Anyone know when magical expess will pick us up?

So this is the first time I have posted on any threads. We will be traveling Sept 3-10. This will be our first trip as a family. I had been to WDW as a senior class trip a long time ago. There will be hubby, me, our daughter (8) and our twin boys who will have just turned 6! We are planning on telling them next week.

Welcome Heidi! I'm sure L-Harper will greet you soon, but I hate waiting for a reply so I thought I'd post a "hello and welcome to the September group"!

I am traveling with an 8 year old girl too! She's very excited about this trip since she's had the opportunity to plan out some of the activities for our group.

So exciting. How are you going to tell them?

FYI System Enhancement today...I'm hoping the September rates are coming out and I can modify my reservation for the Passholder Rate for September and pay in full. 91 days baby!!! AKL!!!!

I am planning a Disney themed dinner with a scavenger hunt. I found Mickey shaped chicken nuggets and Toy Story mac-n-cheese. I thought our littles would have fun helping to plan and I'm also concerned about our one son having some anxiety about flying so I think telling them earlier will help with this. There is a small airport near us and I am going to try to get there so they can see the planes before we go.

Hi everyone! After 52 hours with no power due to the scariest storm I've ever experienced in my life we are finally getting back to some normalcy around here...which includes DIS!

Glad to hear your ok!!! That's a loooon time with no power....how dependent we've become!!!

Hello everyone!

I think I have created a monster! :scared1:

My 2-year-old was sitting in the living room this past weekend and, all of a sudden, she said/asked "We go to Disney World?" (of course, it sounds more like DishnWurld, but whatever...)

DH and I just looked at each other and kind of giggled. We told her that we would go to Disney World later since she has no idea what September is.

Now, every day, about 10 times a day, she reminds us "We go to DishnWurld later?"

:laughing::love:

It will be 96 today, so I am very happy to have the a/c back! Some people are still without power and they are saying it could be DAYS before everyone is up and running again. Thankfully there were NO injuries reported...not even a scratch! Truly amazing!

No A/C on a day like that would be brutal.

Miss Liz - Clara is also 2 and said "I wanna go" the other day when she saw the WDW commercial. I nearly teared up thinking about how exciting this trip is going to be for her. Ok I lied, I did tear up :rolleyes1

Oh trust me, I tear up all the time when she starts talking about WDW, especially when she flips out over the commercials. She starts yelling "castle" and "Magic Kingdom" when they come on.

She came up to us at the birthday party we went to this weekend for a little boy in her preschool class and reminded us about Disney and one of her classmate's parents asked if we were planning to take her on her first trip.

Uh, yeah....first trip....that's it.

I had to fess up and tell them that due to a highly obsessed mommy, she would be going on her 4th trip in September and 5th trip in January.

:rolleyes1:rolleyes1:rolleyes1

It's not a sickness. Really, it's not.
