September 2011 - The Planning Continues! (2nd Thread)

L-Harper, I totally get your reservation dilemma. I read on the community board though that they are starting to cancel multiple reservations when the find them so I got on this morning to try to narrow down. (And before I get flamed for making multiple reservations, we are in the process of shifting our whole park plan to accomodate for my parents and the DDs class and I am cancelling almost as soon as I get new ones made.)

My biggest dilemma at the moment is Thursday, September 15th. That's my anniversary and I really want to eat at Ohana. The issue is that we will be at Hollywood studios that day and getting to the Polynesian from HS with my dad in a motorized wheelchair/cart thingie (what are those darned things called?) is problematic. Should I keep the ressie or look for something closer and ditch my dream of eating at Ohana?

What would you guys do?

When I saw ur post I was like:scared1: Because I am the travel coordinator of this trip---right Robin!!;) I couldn't get a party of 12 at Cape May for 5pm. So I made 3 ressie's for parties of 4...one at 5, 5:05 and 5:10. Well I was like I hope they don't cancel them cause I need that to seat our group. I called Disney ADR and the girl was like I can't change the names or yada yada yada. She asked her supervisor and they tagged them all saying even though the 3 ressie's of 4 all have my name they are for a grand gathering party so please don't cancel them.

I know your guys problem is different, it's just cause you can't decide:confused3 but thank you for posting that cause we could have gotten to the restaurant and found out they cancelled 3 of them cause all 3 are in my name. I will probably still try and get a party of 12 or rebook some 4's under my other families names to be safe but if not at least they're tagged. OMG this is one the group is looking forward too....we love seafood!!:woohoo:

We are big pop lovers over here. I'm sure we will stay at AOA for the suites. We tried to get into ASMU suites even thought there is only 4 of us. I like the extra space. Plus if my stepson who live in Fl wants to come for a few days there is room. Last year we had to get him a room at pop for 3 nights.

We stayed at Pop in October and LOVED it! We were thinking about trying to get a villa but after lots of pricing we just found it so much cheaper to get 2 rooms at Pop for our group of 4. I have no problem returning because I love the Disney feeling at Pop and walking around the lake. :goodvibes
We will also HOPEFULLY be booking AoA for our next trip. We are very excited.

We're returning to Pop Century again this year :goodvibes

We've done Pop a few times!!! It is a fun resort...they have a great gift shop :lovestruc

September seemed so far away so yesterday I booked a few days at CedarPoint in Ohio. It's about a 7 hour drive from our home, this will be our first time there. My DS's love thrill rides so I know they will love it  I'm just a little concerned about looong lines (no FPasses!)

Yeah def not our lovely Disney :sad2: But for coasters, best place! There is Friday's and Perkins in Breakers hotel. and then my buffet by Sand Casltle hotel(shuttle can take ya there) it has breakfast buffet (all u can eat and drink(juices/coffee)) for 11.99adults and 6.99 kids under 10. Then plenty of stuff in the park....Make sure u put a credit card on ur ressie and tell them u want charging privies...kinda works like Disney...charges to ur room using room card. Ok sorry off topic...any other questions feel free to ask!

I totally understand a few overlapping reservations while you figure it out but there are so many people that make oodles of reservations and never cancel them. THAT makes me cuckoo.

Oh believe me, I understand. I would not want to be one of those people. I'm so uptight about rules, I even follow the ones that are implied rather than stated! :rotfl:

I wouldn't want someone not to get a reservation to their restaurant because I was sitting on it *just in case*.

I'm excited though because we now have reservations at:
  • Whispering Canyon
  • Rose & Crown
  • Crystal Palace
  • Boma and
  • Ohana

Is anyone doing the desert party at the MK? Dh turns 40 in October I was going to order a special cake. But I think he would like this alot more. So I think I'm going to book it. For the 4 of us it is around 85.00. I don't think that is so bad after I have seen some of the prices for cakes. I really don't even care about the deserts I just think it will be a nice thing to do. He love the fireworks.

That's a bargain for a theme park meal. DD went to 6 flags with school last week and paid $10 for four chicken nuggets and fries. When she told me I said"Whoa - even Disney has better prices" and she said that's what her chaperones were saying too

We aren't doing it but it sounds awesome!

Oh I hope Disney keeps doing free dining. I would love to try all those restaurants sometime

May be interested. Any idea where I can read about this to see what exactly it is. :confused3

TIA

That sounds awesome! Do they do this during Wishes? How would I go about reserving something like this?

Been lurking far too long in this thread and need some advice....

DH and I have decided that we're at a tossup. Do we do MNSSHP or WWoHP and spend a full day at Universal/IOA?

If you check my PT you can see our must-dos in the event of going to universal/ioa, however I'm just torn. Is it possible to do both parks in one day? I really do love Harry Potter, but I feel like I'm cheating on Mickey! :rotfl:

I'm planning on doing Wishes Dessert Party 25th (sun) to celebrate DS's 8th birthday. I also thought about doing cake also but those cakes are really costly. We did that last year and had wonderful time. You could only see top of the floats for MSEP but awesome view of castle. It was very nice not wait and fight with people for your spot. Desserts had nice selection but we went with almost full tummies last year so couldn't enjoy much. This year, we are planning to have light meal around 5pm so we will be going there with empty stomach. I've been going to Disney Dining site for reservation but Aug Dessert ressie hasn't even opened up yet so it will be awhile before Sept opens up.

My one advice is that I picked the date with MK EMH so that I don't have to rush out after the party and deal with mass exodus. With EMH, we could maybe do a few rides and take our time afterward to get back to resorts. :goodvibes

Oh boy that is a hard choice!! I love MNSSHP but I am so excited to go to WWoHP that if I had to choose I would go with WWoHP!

Don't feel like you're cheating on Mickey! I have all intentions of doing a day at WWoHP, and I am just as excited about that day as I am anything else. I cannot wait to do a walkthrough of Hogsmeade!

Carowinds is already seeing HORRIBLE wait times for coasters, but it's probably because it's already hot here (we're talking 90s already, ugh!). My oldest DD and her friends decided they wanted to do the Intimidator last Saturday, and they waited almost an hour before deciding they would rather go elsewhere in the park!:rotfl2: I am headed back May 27 with my youngest DD, and the safety patrol at her school. Then we've decided to go back as a family two weekends after that. They've decided as a group that I simply need more coasters to break my phobias.:laughing:I'm actually excited, though, as they are getting ready to open up the water park!:woohoo:

Okay, since we seem to be crossing paths a lot, I just HAVE to know what date your Cape May ressies are on. We have a 5:10 pm reservation on the 27th. We intend to go back to our room, get ready for MNSSHP, then hit Cape May before the party. It would be great if our dinner reservations crossed over!:rotfl:

I dont think you can book right now for August and September. But the PP had some good info on it. You can also search the dining section of the dis boards to bring more info up. That is what I did.
