September 2011 - The Planning Continues! (2nd Thread)

I don't know, but it's a thought! I was just looking at Pick-a-Pearl videos at Epcot on You Tube. Getting it done in Japan at Epcot looks really neat. We'll have to try that one year! (All the oysters kind of look the same to me!)

I know we will be going more then once to Disney I try to find different things that will make each trip special. I'll have to check out the You Tube videos to see how it works.

Please tell me why in the world it is so hard for me to decide where to have dinner at in Epcot?!?! :confused3 I made that poll and a lot of people brought up Coral Reef and Garden Grill. They sound way better than Biergarten. I had no problem at all coming up with the other places we're dining at. I need to just let go and have my DH and DS pick the place... :scared1: Thoughts or suggestions?!

We like Via Napoli. I'm adventurous but not my kids. Thats the neat thing about Epcot you can try different kinds of foods all in the same place. I would pick somewhere that you know has something your kids will eat but is a little different as well. I think the Tepan Edo would be a great choice.

Just made my adr's no HDDR.:headache: That is what I get for changing to the regular plan. I couldn't get ohana's:headache:.
I did get
Sat arrival day just CS mea
Sunday Garden Grill 4pm
Monday Crystal Palace 1030am
Tuesday Sci fi 1120
Wednesday Shutters for pm this is our Tl day I don't want to have to go far
Thursday Tusker house 1020 am
Friday 1900 Park fare DTD day
Saturday Crystal Palace Lunch
Sunday Arkshurs 1030 am
Monday leave

Not bad. I do still have another ts meal so I may double up a day or keep trying for HDDR or should we just go with the Spirt of Aloha?

Hi everyone! :)

My DH finally told me to "start booking" today! So excited! Originally we were going to try Disneyland in conjunction with a Vegas wedding, but we cannot make it to the wedding afterall so I managed to convince DH we needed to go to DW. :thumbsup2

I am 99% convinced we are going to stay at CSR (my other option being POFQ).

Dates.... it looks like we will be going from 09/05 - 09/10. We will qualify for the DDP but plan to upgrade to DxDP.

We took a Disney cruise in 2010 with our 3 y.o DD, so it will not be her first Disney experience, BUT it will be her first WDW experience. She just loves all things Mickey and Disney Princesses. She also likes Toy Story characters though to a lesser extent.

I am very excited to start planning! :yay:

ShhhQ- What entrees do you like at Coral Reef? My husband and son want to go there... I'm honestly fine with either of them. I just want to make sure that we all enjoy our food.

Do you remember it smelling ripe? :lmao: I had to giggle at that terminology!

Grrr... not very happy with the server... spent 15 mins collecting images to show you and went to preview it, message said server was busy try again, and everything I had done dissappeared!!!!

We are steak eaters and usually order the New York Strip...
Here are a few pics...

Oh forgot to mention (the 2nd time around).... I don't recall the place smelling "RIPE" at all!

Hi all. It has been quite a while since I posted, but I wanted to point out this thread I saw over on the Theme Parks board to all my fellow Sept. travelers.
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2724661
It is a leather Lime green mickey head sold at the Canada Pavilion in Epcot. I will definately be getting one.

Thank you! I love it! Well I better make more money to spend:rotfl2:

BTW I love the pic in ur siggy So stinkin cute!:)

We're going to Garden Grill, the kids are excited b/c some of the food comes from Living with the Land and you get to see Chip n Dale and the restaurant ROTATES through different weather 'climates' I'm also on the edge but I've heard that Tepan Edo is no different than the Hibachis we already have here..... and that Coral Reef can smell a little ripe if its hot out.... LOL

My husbands boat needs to decide when its coming home so I can nail down my reservations!!!!!
That is awesome! Never knew all that about Garden Grill. I'll have to add that to my try sometime list!

Oh that lime mickey head is cute! Thanks for posting it. And DCL is right, very cute sig picture.

So we (DH, myself, & DS 4) are offically booked for Sept 7th thru the 13th at ASMu which I have nevered stayed, but I have been thinking about upgrading to CBR but have to wonder if it is worth the 500 bucks. DH and myself are not big eaters so the upgraded dining plan doesnt really matter to us. Any suggestions????

My kids have already seen the ads for KungFu Panda 2 and Cars 2 and asked to go. We've never taken Paul to a movie (he won't be three til July) but I am thinking of trying it on Cars.

What do you guys think about taking a toddler to a movie theater (bear in mind we'd do a matinee and it's a small city only about 35K people).

Also, we've had drama this week. My sister and her bf had some financial meltdowns and decided they couldn't afford to go! :sad1: They finally sat down (they've been living together for six months) and worked out their financial situation and a household budget! I am so proud of her!

So, we were scrambling to figure out what to do with the extra bed. My parents are...different. Not everyone would feel comfortable around them and we wanted this to be a family trip...so mom and dad offered to front the money for sister and bf to go. Yay! We are back on! It's been a rollercoaster this week between we're going, we're not going!:scared1:

Finally, looking around, I found the Disney Youth Education Series while surfing with DD and she decided that she's way more interested in going to the Ocean Discovery Class at Epcot than the halloween party. We are going to save almost $175 on tickets thanks to the kiddo wanting to take a class at Disney World!

She's going to go to Epcot on September 12th and spend 3 hours learning about the ocean, sustainable fishing, and designing a device to keep turtles out of fishing nets. She also gets to hang out around the huge aquarium at Epcot!

Talk about a crazy week!

Glad to hear your sister has got her finances together, and that your parents are helping her out. Hopefully this trip will be inspiration as to why you need to budget...cause then you get to do fun things like vacation once all your bills are taken care of!!

what will your pirate skirts look like for MNSSHP - we were thinking of dressing up like pirates too... lolpirate: arrrr

We're going as pirates too on September 20th! AARRR!

Thank you everyone for your kind words. She had a 103 fever in the night but no more seizures so far. Her little cousin had 2 febrile seizures last summer and before that I had never heard of them. So weird.

I too am really excited for the new Pirates movie although we'll probably not go opening weekend since there are family activities planned and we need my inlaws to babysit! I can't wait though.

Gotta call WDW and pay for a king room. We've been discussing it and we don't want to take our chances with a refurbed room so we'll just bite the bullet.

We are going to request Magnolia for a refurbed room!

The Mermaid looks really cool! I think it's great that there's another option for the girls :cool1: We're going to stick with the pirate princess look, though I'm really liking the OPI POTC nail polish. I think I might have to pick some of that up! I did read on the official PL thread that depending on the popularity of the Mermaid, they may bring it back for Halloween, and then possibly permanently after that so there's still hope ;-)

I"d be so excited if they still have it! I love the nail polishes,,,and I love mermaids! I can't wait to see the new movie. It would be so fun to do this before the Halloween Party! (though I dont' think my boyfriend would want to take the time away from the party to do it...sooo maybe I'll just go buy myself all the nailpolishes!) :rotfl:

Joining the September countdown! We're booking for our September 17th-24th trip this week! :cool1:

We'll be at Port Orleans Riverside the same week!

DEFINITELY GO WITH CORAL REEF! While I think your small children would love another character meal, you will never experience anything like Coral Reef anywhere you'll ever have a chance to eat. The food is great. If there isn't anything on the menu that is particularly appealing to you, talk to your waiter, they will modify things for you!! The aquarium is just so cool and the food is really good. My boyfriend gets the ny strip steak every time. I've had salmon and ratatouille there (which is no longer on the menu) and last time I had the chicken breast (nothing special but definitely good). This trip I'm planning on the scallops! Yum!

Just started my first grad school classes...2 eight week classes. Its gonna take a lot getting use to. Its hard to work on the computer all day at work, come home do school work on the computer and other reading,,,and still have energy to get on the dis boards! But I'm finding a balance!

Can't wait to see Pirates, I think we're going next weekend when we have more time...got birthday parties near Madison tomorrow and a baby shower in Milwaukee Sunday! run run run!
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

We are going to request Magnolia for a refurbed room!
You may already know this from the Port Orleans website, but the renovation is expected to commence June 26th with Building 80 (Acadian mansion). So that building number should be a good one to request!

Good morning!

I have officially decided on CSR and I am pretty sure our dates will be Sep 11 - Sep 16.

I was wondering if I could get some feedback on my itinerary?

I have checked each park and made a list of the attractions/rides I think DD will like.

Sunday (arrival, probably not until 3/4 pm)

- Check in, dinner, parade and fireworks.

Monday

- MK all day

Tuesday

- Character breakfast in AK, then AK in the AM
- lunch at Epcot and wander Epcot in the PM, maybe catch Illuminations

Wednesday

- MK all day

Thursday

- Princess breakfast at Akershus, Epcot in the AM
- HS in the PM, evening

Friday

- breakfast, depart

When I looked at all the attractions, DD will only be interesed in the safari and *maybe* Dinoland in AK. Dinoland might hold her attention for an hour. In Epcot, she will pretty well want to see the characters and the Nemo attraction.

The majority of what she will like will be MK (obviously!) and HS.

The hopper days will be pretty low key, I think - especially Epcot because more than anything we will just be wandering, locating princesses, etc.

Does this look okay? Any major flaws?

Also, I understand the Magic Kingdom is "dry" - is DTD the same? DH and I like to have a beverage with our dinners, so I may work around that on our MK days.

I got all excited about sharing a few pics....and I've been battling with Photobucket for hours now.....something is wrong with it. :sad2: I'll try again tomorrow!

Ok, here we go.....CRT pics, as requested! :goodvibes

Morning all!

DH and I saw POTC On Stranger Tides yesterday in IMAX 3-D :cool1: and we both really liked the movie!! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

After seeing the movie, I'm not sure the mermaid look is something I'd be going for :scared1: (Don't want to give any spoilers) but Johhny Depp was great as usual :lovestruc and the action and bits of humour in the movie were great! Don't know what the critics are saying but we liked it and seeing it in IMAX 3-D was really amazing!

We are looking forward to taking the girls to Cars and Winnie the Pooh this summer :)

HolliePoppins: Thanks for the link to the LGMH!! That is sooo cute! I love it!

This is correct!!!:)

We are going on the 28th at 5pm for Cape May. But we will be at MNSSHP on the 27th, so dont forget we are meeting at the parade:goodvibes

I haven't forgotten; I told the DDs about the parade meet plan, and they were all excited!

Sounds like you should get a season pass after all these visits. I think I am taking the kids to get their passes today!!
It's starting to feel that way! We seem to be turning that way a lot, between the field trips and our family trip down there! :rotfl: I'm seriously thinking of upgrading when Sommer and I go to Charlotte on Friday!:thumbsup2

What other ressie's did you do? I feel like I have alot! And I don't have Delux dining just plus so I have to cancel one. Here is my schedule--
Sat--HOB(no disney dining plan)
Sun--HS--Chef Mickey's Dinner
Mon- waterpark--1900 Park Fare dinner
Tues--MK--Crystal Palace lunch--MNSSHP
Weds- waterpark--Cape May dinner
thurs--AK --tusker breakfast--Whispering Canyon dinner
Friday--Akershus Breakfast---epcot--teppan edo dinner
Sat--Ohana breakfast---hang out and go home:eek:

It seems I have 10 ADR's and 7 free table service slots:rolleyes1
HOB doesn't count that has to be paid....so 9 that can count. I will either cancel CP and pay for Ohana's out of pocket or just pay for the cheapest meals and keep them all....still deciding!:confused3

We don't have a ton of ADRs; all TS will be done out of pocket, because we're just not big eaters! We have:
Sunday-AK-Tusker House breakfast
Monday-DHS- Whispering Canyon late lunch @ 2:20
Tuesday-Epcot-Cape May 2 5:10 before MNSSHP
Wednesday- MK-Crystal Palace breakfast

And that's pretty much it for now!:wizard:

MikellaCinderella loved the CRT pictures! Your daughter is beautiful! Makes me want to be there now.. although I have this meal planned for our last night so it will be a bittersweet day! :rotfl:

After going through my 'itinerary' and having not changed my ADR's since I made them back in March.. I've caught the bug and now I feel like everything needs to be changed! Only problem is, nothing that I want is available right now. I feel like I'm on an ADR mission :rolleyes1 Im not to worried bc last August a ton of reservations opened up for September, so I'll be hoping for the same pixie dust this trip!

DH and I also set up at POTC movie date for next friday! We are very excited as we havent had much time together lately, and with DS getting hurt earlier this month this will be a MUCH needed break!

Amy, the CRT pics are GREAT! I wish we had been able to do WDW a little younger; the girls seem to have lost all love for the princesses.:guilty: They still love the Fab Five and all of the Winnie the Pooh characters, but the princesses went by the wayside well over a year ago.
