September 2011 - The Planning Continues! (2nd Thread)

Good Morning all. I am back from Chicago. What a great time. I think we spent 4 hrs in American Girl and of course left with dolls!! We made some great memories with our friends.

This is my DD's jazz performance.
And this is Lyrical

Long drive home(5 hrs) plus the time change of an hr. We had a great time. Lou Malnaty's deep dish pizza---Yum "The Lou" is the best

Amy--love the pics of ur DD. U seem worried about her missing school...she's only in K or 1st rt?? She won't miss anything you can't teach and ur time with her is more important then anything she will learn in school!!

YEAH - we got ours too... so excited... looking at doing MNSSHP too now since we had these savings... what night are you going?

Love the pcitures. My girls aren't into dolls. My oldest is a huge build a bear freak. I so wish they loved dolls. My youngest seems to like dolls more but she is also really into dinosaurs.

Yeah for getting FD. So glad I got it but the wait on the phone this am was horrible.

Got the FD offer, added my flight since we definitely are going with the dates we planned on now that MNSSHP dates are out and getting the FD! So, MNSSHP paid for as well for 9/20, now just waiting two more weeks till they open up the reservation window for the Wishes Dessert Party!!!

the wait was horrid - my sister waited over an hour & a half and then a friend called and got in almost right away - was ridiculous!

I know it was a hour and half for me also. But them some people were calling and getting threw within 7 minutes. I thought I got lost in que somewhere.

I am very proud of her. Oddly enough last yr at competition she had strep and a 102.5 fever. Not so funny coincidence that it happened again. We'll see what the Dr's say today. She tells me "Mom, that's what a real comp dancer does...the show must go on"

Yes I have been to MNSSHP...it is worth the money...special character appearances, SHORT lines for rides if any. We don't go for the candy / trick or treat...we leave that behind in our room. Last time they did have healthy snacks...raisins, baggies of apples..I liked that!!

I'm thinking Epcot World Showcase area, what's your favorite one credit table service there? I've not been to any of the World Showcase sit downs....

We actually changed our dates to 9/10-9/18 and are at All Star Movies! I think we are leaning toward the 13th for MNSSHP!

Garden grocer of Wegoshop for Beer ? My dh likes his beverages on vacation but we hate paying Disney prices for them. We don't really need anything besides the alcohol and maybe milk and diapers. My yougest still can't go threw the night. Garden grocer has a 40.00 minium before you get to add alcohol. We don't really need any food we will have plenty on the plan.

Should I just send dh in a taxi to go fetch it?

I think a taxi ride might cost more than it's worth to just pay a delivery fee. I've only used Garden Grocer, but a few people on here highly recommended Wegoshop, so that might be the way to go for you if you are mainly wanting alcohol.

LOVE the competition pics! Thanks for sharing! I was wondering this weekend how she was doing (both with being sick and with competition). What songs were her lyrical and jazz?

Yes, I have a hard time taking my kids out for more than a school week (5 days). Besides that, I will be in classes too.....so it will be hard for me to miss as well!

Ohhhhh, the memories!!! Just remembering this exact week last year.......been thinking about it all week long, but just got around to posting about it tonight! It's been exactly one year since our last WDW memories!

Sharing another piece of the magic.......Supercalifragilistic Breakfast at 1900 Park Fare (Just a few of my favorites! ) :

What a cute outfit! Very creative. Also, WOW what a great Mary! She looks a lot like Julie Andrews!

Congrats to everyone who scored free dining today! Those phone queue times sound insane.

We went to Chicago today to go to IKEA and the Disney Outlet! All their park-specific merchandise was Disneyland which was kind of weird. But they did have some park merch that was nonspecific to either and I found some good things. It helped to tide me over until September for all those great Disney souvenirs.
