We'll be celebrating our wedding anniversary on the 3rd.

We're also sailing on the Fantasy to the Eastern Caribbean in May 2012.

We were planning to go to the Med summer of 2012 but DCL ruined those plans so we're making up for it with a cruise to your beautiful country. I've been to Ontario several times, Alberta and BC, but never to Nova Scotia or Halifax. These are two places of interest to me since I'm a student of the 18th century colonial period and these both were significant.

Sir William...I'm so excited to go to Canada as well. As much as we like the beach...we actually enjoy the cooler weather and hiking a heck of a lot more.

I agree with you about the different ports. It will be nice go to a part of my country that I would other wise might never see.

Wow you have been to more provinces then I..... I have been to Quebec. Quebec city is just beautiful and well worth the visit!! Where in Ontario have you been? We are just outside of Toronto about 50 mins away from Buffalo. It will take us about 8 hours to drive to the port. Still a lot cheaper then flying to Florida......

I was just in Toronto last year and made it up to Barrie. Previously mostly just in the Niagara on the Lake and Hamilton area.

We'll probably drive to New York as well. We're about 5 hours away.

We went to Niagara in February. It was cold, icy and absolutely beautiful!! The falls seemed to have more ice than water!! My kids loved it, but want to go back in the summer.
We are driving to the port as well. It only takes about 3 1/2 hours from where we are. I am looking at the possibility of the train, but we'll see. Right now it's only $300 round trip for my family. Between gas and parking, it comes out to about the same. Hopefully the prices stay about the same next year.

For us, its about equal whether we drive or take the train.

Elsewhere on the boards someone was saying that parking at the port was $30 a day (so that would make it between $150-180 depending on how the port counts a day). The question is, of course, how much for gas for the trip.

For us the train would be about $100 per person, and I also read on the board that a taxi from Penn Station to the piers would be about $15 each way, so for two people this would be about $230.

But its still early so I'm just looking at the options.

It is going to be myself, Ann, DH, James, DS, Legion, (14) and DS Aidan, (8). My husband and I both work full time. He is a general manager of a movie theater and I work in a school/rehab facility for children with severe disabilities. It is an amazing job that I love.
We live in Massachusetts, about 45 minutes south of Boston and 30 minutes from Providence RI. We love where we live!!
By the time that we set sail, this will also be our 3rd cruise. We are also going on an Eastern on the Fantasy in June 2012.

While we are at it my name is Dave and my wife is Sue. It's going to be just us sailing. We have 3 children David 21, Michael 18 and Jennifer 15. This will be our 2nd cruise. Our 1st was last October when we did a 7 night eastern on the Magic. Very excited about this one. Can't wait to be back on the Magic!!!!

I'll take the Bruins any day!!!!! Being a Leafs fan (insert laugh here) we can't stand the hated Canadiens.... though they do have a nice city.

I wanted to say we were in your area last summer. We spent about 4 days in Plymouth. Is that anywhere near you??

I grew up in Plymouth!! My parents are still in Plymouth and we are about 40 minutes away. It is a great town and a beautiful to place to live. I hope you had a great time.

P.S. It is nice to know that there is someone to share in my true dislike of the Canadiens!!
